Even without addons on the console version, ESO is still a functioning MMO.slipHAZARD wrote: »Arthur_Spoonfondle wrote: »slipHAZARD wrote: »I agree, they need to stop this "immersive" nonsense because clearly it's not working. Focus on making this a solid MMO. Are you going to tick off some of the Elder Scrolls fans? Sure, that was always going to be the case.
Make an MMO in the Elder Scrolls universe. Not a Elder Scrolls game in a MMO universe. Because the 2 naturally don't fit, an Elder Scrolls game is a single player experience, who wants that in an MMO. NO ONE.
It's time to *BLANK* or get off the pot here. Pick a build and go with it. Hybrid builds sucks. Make this game a full fledged Fantasy MMO set in the Elder Scrolls universe.

Standards and staples of every MMO out there. You're like 90% there. It's crazy when a game that's lets face it, isn't doing all that great, and the developers still think "We know what's best" or "We have a vision". Zipper Interactive did the exact same thing with Socom 4 and where are they now?
People are enjoying your game, but for how long? Listen to your fans, give them the experience that 90% of them are asking for and they will in turn continue playing your game for years and spending money on it. Whether its DLC or Crown purchases.
Finally ruin the game in one easy step.
If you want to play a WoW style game play WoW.
If by "WoW style game" you mean a functioning MMO. [...]
its ridiculous that we can not see the the individual values in the game such as AP and EXP when we get kills, do quest, etc. we dont know how we are doing or what gives us the best exp/ap so that we can grow or develop faster. its silly to think that we cant even see what we crit for or even when we crit while we are fighting, i can understand the choice of ZOS not to implement these features initially because they may spam the screen with values or ruin someones experience but i seriously doubt it would be a burden on their coders (or the outsourcing coders) to show certain values the screen that are toggle-able via the options menu.
as of now players on console are at a massive disadvantage without knowledge of our dps and other such things they should be implemented in near updates as part of the games actual features and not as add-ons (since these features should have been implemented anyways)
these features would enhance our gaming experience and create a stonger player base

Consoles suck and you should have gone PC if you wanted addons AND if you wanted a social experience... no text chat? BUt you do have an option, pay attention to what PC player run and do. will give you enough of an idea of how you are doing to succeed.

How is having vitally important information going to ruin anyone's experience? If you can't beat something just because you don't have addons then you need to improve your build/skill.
This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life. Tell me Einstein how is one supposed to improve their build when they can't tell how much damage they're doing, how much damage they're mitigating, how much they're healing for, etcetera? If I change my build how am I even supposed to know whether it's better or worse than it was before? The UI (or rather the near total lack of it) makes improving impossible.
I'm in highschool and as much as I like pc games/gaming the kids who like pc gaming are either socialy challenged or have a vast superiority complex that I can't stand (at least the ones I know)
The Elder Scrolls universe may be too mature for you. Some people were already playing these games when you were still using a diaper.
FYI, ESO:TU has an ESRB Mature and PEGI 18+ rating.
i am 18 though... but great post none the less

Again, you chose console over PC and here you are making a complaint thread on something that was a result of your own doing...
Living with your choices is usually something one should have known about back in high school.

again i chose console so i wouldnt deal with the majority of people who have a superiority complex and feel that they are better that you in every way shape and form...not going to mention names lol... and to address your comment i chose to play a game on console and i made a request thread for add ons on console not a complaint thread for people who play PC to show why they are better in every shape way and form... but thanks for your very constructive post on the issue that doesnt concern you

"Superiority complex," I think you need to learn what that word means before using it. Sorry, but you had all the facts at your disposal. You shouldn't have chosen B, if you wanted everything that is in A.
It's just that simple.

You do not need add ons. You want them. With that said, I know exactly how much damage I do. When I hit you with my fire ball it does about 2000 damage. When I hit you with 6 of them you're dead. That's all you really need to know. Also, this is how I heal ... if my friend is on fire I heal him. If I just got hit with a meteor I hit X and I heal myself. I know I can do this because I have a health bar that is no longer full.
Everything you NEED is already there. What I don't WANT is for a bunch of people to get 1000 times better at this game than their talent allows because of add ons. Lastly, does everyone realize that asking for add ons is no different than begging everyone to have the same build? Take a few lumps and get better via practice.

Big difference.
Ever seen people sitting beside you , starring at a game while playing at PC? (Funny imagination though.) Console is not all about ESO, I am a PC player but i understand the social point when friends or family share console experience.
This barely happens with a PC.

So these aren't possible on console right now then? Hmm...
Add-ons I don't want. A simple toggleable damage indicated and bar numbers would be greatly appreciated. Also make the bars drain from 1 side instead of both sides, draining from both sides is weird and I don't like it.
Will never happen but I can hope.

Which differs from PC how?
This topic has been discussed quite a few times since the console port, and I think the general consensus is addons = good, or at least certain addons potentially becoming optional parts of the UI e.g. seeing exp / AP / damage dealt and received sort of thing.
Maybe his friends play on console?

lol.....damn you just opened up "Pandora's Box." Good luck kid! I like them both, but I'm definitely not touching the subject about elitism.
Yes let trun ESO in to other WoW clone for god forbid to play in MMO that dont have same feature as every other MMO out there and I think it is funny how people think that cant play MMO with out show number and honest how would that spoil that game for you if dont you know how much dmg, exp, crit your get.
MMO is more then just show number but hey if want play game and listen to other whine how bad dmg, crit you make i would suggest you try out WoW where every noob sit whine about other people dmg output and crit instead of focus on the game.
Btw if you have been play this game since it launch this should not be any new news to you for it have been like this since day 1 and it was so even in beta and if you are new to game learn to live with it.
