The return of Dwarves?

Headberg2174
I kind of hope we see Dwarves come to ESO. I know there is shrouds of mystery about what happened to them and some people would rather it stay that way. I think ESO should bring them in. It would be a great idea for an expansion and you could play a dwarf character.

I can see the appeal given that we've seen so many of their creations and cities within ES games, but at the sametime, I always liked the idea of them being this unforeseen old race we never meet, making them playable would kinda ruin the magic of that.

sorry, but what happened to the dwemer is one of the great mysteries of TES. I dont see them being added into ESO, especially since its a 'prequel.'

IF.... IF they had Dwemer content it would have to be "time displaced" content. Dwemer are gone and they remain gone.

    But anything is possible!!!

I think I would like to see it remain a mystery. In a way it connects to the real world. There are lots of cultures that are gone and we have to discover their mysteries.

No and again no Dwarves or Dwemer vanished off the face of nirn at the battle of red mountain and never have been seen again. ESO already broke the lore spine a few time and it defnally does not need to shatter it with the return of the Dwarves. Also please love of Kyne don't turn this into a "want" thread like dragons.

The second Dwemer get added into any TES game in mass is when I fear the future of TES. It's sopost to be a race of mystery and I wouldn't mind them dipping into the mystery some. Just don't go overboard and give us every ounce of their mystery all in 1. I'd rather see the Snow elves become playable than the Dwemer.

Maybe they will start returning in the elder scrolls 6, even though we boarderline lore breaking stuff in some people's eyes in game already, doubt we will see more then ghosts of that race, there is only one living one in the second era and he is confined in a place you don't want to end up

    No need to shatter lore

No, they're deader than a can of spam.

If it involved time travel and the such, as is possible in the ES universe, then seeing them there would be fine. But they're gone.

They are gone in skyrim both dwemer and snow elves. And skyrim is 1000 years later and in ESO they been gone for a very long time too. Hence the ruins of both. So it wont happen

More likely really, given there is no sold time-line when all of them died off and we where left with the vampires and the other of that race, even what the snow elves became being playable would be better then the dwemer returning

Sure, I'd be fine with adding them if the lore supported it somehow. Unfortunately I do not see that happening.

Really though, I want to play a giant in the next expansion.

Wouldn't it be cool, though, if we got "Battle of Red Mountain" DLC? Maybe Yagrum Bagarn (the last remaining Dwemer) sends us back in time to try to save the dwarves but we ultimately not only fail but are the REASON the dwarves to "poof"... That would be kind of awesome.

Since ESO is way before even Arena I think it's possible to find pockets of Snow elves compared to Dwemer who by the time ESO happens were long gone.
It isn't very lore friendly, but if they had to add an additional race I could see Snow Elves being an acceptable race. They would have to at least try to explain why Snow Elves have appeared, instead of just adding the race. Dwemer are impossible to explain why or how. Because is not an acceptable answer.

After they tied themselves to Lorkhams Heart it is theorized that they were reduced to ash. They found piles of ash next to weapons, in Beds, and everywhere a dwemer would have been standing in the ruins of Bamz-Amschend in Mournhold. Someone named Arniel Gane even tried to recreate the disappearance using Kagrenac's tools, and he himself disappeared.

I am not sure if I want to see them, but I wouldn't mind the next Elder Scrolls main game diving deeper into it. Doesn't really ever seem they give us clues what would happen.

the snow elves arnt gone in this time period, in eastmarch their is a book/journal of a hunter, he speaks of he and his hunting, when one night when they made campfire, an arrow was shot under them, hitting his friend, the man ran back to town, and you can talk to him , he described the figure as shrouded in light, but speculated that it was a snow elve in the journey, he wanted to go back up, but he had broken his leg on the way down

Concur. Make it a little time-warp side quest that takes you back in time, like that dragon mask quest in Skyrim.

The only way you'd be able to meet a Dwemer is via a spinner-like quests where you travel back in time.

I have my own theories about the Dwemer and how Bethesda could bring back some of them in a future game and it would make sense but that's not for ESO.

I don't think they are all gone in this time period, but most of them were already twisted into the corrupted falmer.

I know it will cause great rage among lore focused players and roleplayers, but I wouldn't have an issue with an expansion based around solving the big dwarven mystery.

There is a mystery associated with the Dwemer. Numerous theories ranging from them destroying themselves, ascending to a higher plane, or being banished to Oblivion by Azura, who bore a powerful vendetta against them for meddling in higher powers.

Dwarves do not belong as a playable race or a interactable one. This would detract from the mystery that surrounds them and just degrade the lore. It's like with the worgen in WOW. an early book about them indicated they were from anotehr dimension, but thanks to retCONs they were 'ancient night elf druids trapped in wolf form' TOTALLY BOGUS.

Yes ESO has taken liberties in certain aspects, like some quests have you go back and assist ancient Nedes and Chimer, but that works within the parameters of the lore. Its filling in the blanks, not erasing an intricate mural off a chalkboard and drawing stick figures.
