Mounts are just pixels. Other things in the shop are also just fluff or things you can get in the game. The community "asked" for a shop? We got it! I couldn't care less how much ZOS think they can milk players for with this stuff. I disagree with the cash shop and the B2P/F2P models, I keep my sub current, I haven't spent a single crown (might buy DLC packs eventually, if I ever decide to unsub).
That said, the minute I feel I need to buy something in order to play the game effectively, I'll bid farewell to Tamriel.
We didn't ask for a shop. The game hadn't even released when the news about a shop was muttered.
Also your comment about it being fluff is incorrect from a certain point of view. There are items in there that affect your power progression through end game and beyond max level. Yes, I know they are obtainable in-game but it sets a bad precedent. If they are easy to get in-game then why sell them on the store? Do they nerf drop rates or locations to promote crown store sales similar to what they did to motifs? It will change just like their business model changed. They will switch their commitments that were made to the players just like they already have.
If it's not already obvious but Bethesda/Zenimax Media Inc. don't care about their IP anymore. They simply just want to cash in on it before it has a chance to burn it's fuse away so they are releasing all these different titles. Take a look at "ElderHearthstone Scrolls". Oops! I meant to say "Elder Scrolls Legends". It screams "I want to be Hearthstone! SO BAD!". Hopefully the gameplay and metatype will be a different experience otherwise that will get a severely negative response as a knock off.
First comes the RPG then comes the MMO. Later comes the TCG and then we will have a picture matching game on mobile. Why just cash in on fantastic single player RPG titles when they can throw in garbage between releases and people still sheepishly eat it up?
Slippery slope. Similar to my comment lol.
You're preaching to the choir. I never wanted and strongly opposed the crown store. But it's too late now. I agree with you regarding the slippery slope, but I don't think we've reached the point where you can say ESO is P2W. Yet.

Got an email saying now for a limited time only. Turns out just to be this stupid mount.
Three things bug me about this. First the email was total click bait, I was expecting a dlc or something. Second 3k for a mount? I could go buy a whole new mmo for that price. Finally limited time only really? I buy fruit that lasts longer then this, didn't realize code went bad after a while.

It's a mount that should be rare, and it's priced accordingly. It's at a price point where only people who really really like it, or people with money to burn are going to get it. Is that a good thing? It depends on your marketing strategy. Realistically, for something like the Crown Store you want some mounts priced low where everyone and their dog can afford them, and you want a couple of tiers of more expensive ones where collectors and people who just really like those specific mounts will get them, but they're not intended for mass-market appeal. So this mount falls into the latter category.
For me personally, I'd say it's priced slightly high for that category - I think 2500 crowns is probably the sweet spot for the "luxury item" mounts. But that's based on my own preferences, and not any kind of analysis. ZOS has probably looked at how well the 2500 crown mounts sold, and is testing the waters to see if 3000 crown mounts will have a similar market.

Everyone like you should take note of this:
wait for it...
Those crowns aren't free

So because you stopped reading you totally didn't understand at all what I meant by that... Nice job. Here's a hint: if you're looking at the price of mounts and saying "why would I spend that much on a mount when I can buy a cheaper one" you're not the target market. The limited time exclusive mounts are meant to only appeal to one portion of the market.Mounts are just pixels. Other things in the shop are also just fluff or things you can get in the game. I couldn't even keep reading lol. They forged it with the cold ice steel blade of sub zero so it's supposed to be rare guys!

3000 crowns is half the price of a new AAA game. If you really like the horse, go ahead and buy it, but I would never pay more than $10 for cosmetics.
At least in CAD, this comes out to anywhere between $39.96 and $27.27, depending on what size crown pack is bought. I know the vote that matters is the one people will make with their wallets, but just curious to get a sense of what the userbase thinks.

This person says it perfectly...half the price of a new AAA game.
I'm not going to spend that much on a cosmetic item when it can easily go towards an upcoming game.
ZOS is straight up spitting in our face & rubbing it in.
Next thing you know they'll be wanting us to pay $60(+) for DLC

Wait... What? There hasn't been an update in near 4 months but we did get a ton of Crown Store updates.
Your comment makes no sense and it's not based on reality.
I sub ESO plus I get 1500 crowns a month already so this is not an issue for me . I do like it when there is some exclusive stuff that most people will not own or spend the time to get.
