Yea when side by side i can tell thigns liek the extra shadows or *** the wood planks are less blury and the little boat is gone etc but unless you put them side by side i still think they look very good on PS4.

I think the view distance though on ESO is super demanding because my PC has a GTX 970 and in long range views the fps would drop to 45, so the fact a PS4 can keep 30 fps in the same situation is good.

I'm not sure I amusing a 660 ti 1080p everything maxed and I have no frame issues ever, solid 60fps.

So you get 60 fps where my GTX 970 FTW edition can't in many places :) i run at 45 fps in towns on max gfx.

I was wrong just loaded up fraps, in the wilderness i'm getting 60fps but in towns i'm in the 40's, I went to the forge in the main city DC, it dipped to 36 but jumped back into mid 40's.

nice work by op on the comparisons.
But in reading the comments, I'm glad real-life people aren't this shallow. Can't imagine a bunch of people talking and bragging about their glasses and how it made their vision better than yours, etc. And yes, in this analogy I'm the guy holding a business card 1 inch from my eyes to read it. You win, we compared the length of our graphics cards and yours is longer.
I just can't imagine what a blind person would think listening to you all.

I can touch on PC gamers in general since I've been one since 1989. I've also been part of major PC enthusiast communities such as [H]ard|OCP & HCW for over 10 years. Some statements are true. A huge majority of PC gamers, including myself, use a single monitor with the resolution being 1920 x 1080. This is a step down from my old 24" gateway monitor which was 1920 x 1200. 1440P is slowly starting to become the new 1080P of PC gaming as some have moved up to it. Overall however, hardcore high end PC gamers are a very small market. Well under 1% in the overall market & last time I checked, around 5% in terms of PC gamers that use discrete GPU's in a dual configuration or better. I have not upgraded my system in a very long time but I am one of only a handful of people that took advantage of an upgrade path that put off the need of having to build a new system. My system started off as an i7-930 & a single GTX 470. Now, I am using a Hexacore Xeon 5670 & a single GTX 670. Pretty much a $80 ebay CPU that some X58 consumer boards see as a six core i7 ;).

It is a bit amusing. Competing over who spent the most money on something they use for entertainment. Anyone can win that game assuming they're willing to go into enough debt.

It gets weirder when you bring in brand loyalties and such. Competing over who gave the most money to a specific company.

Step back a few levels of technology and you have people arguing over who bought the most lumber from a given sawmill and how much smoother it is and who has the fewest knots. It's just bizarre.

Are you enjoying what you do with it? Good. Carry on.

This "you're having fun wrong" mentality is amazing.

Batman arkham, just came out and is so broken on PC it was removed from steam
Planetside 2 too a year to get playable on the majority of medium-high end pc's
Witcher 3 still broken and laggy and hitching to this day
Dragon age inquisition lagged very bad even on high end pc's think it's fixed.
LOTR war in the north took 6 months to patch and become playable on PC with AMD gfx cards

Need i go on? no matter how good your hardware is PC games will ALWAYS end up having game breaking bugs, fps issues, and be unplayable while you wait for patches.

PC gamers act all high and mighty but seem to forget the abundance of performance issues that can take weeks or months to fix to be fun on PC.

Why do you think i got witcher 3 again for my birthday on PS4? even though i had it and the expansion passes on PC? because its a hell of a lot more fun on PS4 despite 30 fps and lower gfx, same with ESO I've had more fun on ESO on PS4 than i ever did on PC, and the voice chat in PVP makes for some epic roleplay lol.

Witcher 3 and Dragon Age also had graphics issues on the consoles too, not just the PC.

Though, just about everything else you wrote has nothing to do with the argument you proposed in the OP. This was PS4 graphics vs. PC graphics, not gameplay bugs or compatibility issues. That's a whole different argument, which you can start a new thread on. Heck so many people already do bring it up about how other games didn't have this problem.

This was a random PVP battle i had when i first started the game, not large scale but as you can see the voice chat in this scenario helped and made it more fun and immersive

I'm assuming that most of the thread was PC master race bickering but I can tell you the PS4's primary weakness:

    Anisotropic filtering.

I'm not sure why but essentially nothing on the console supports that and the result is generally blurrier textures on any surface you're not looking directly at.

Having played both the PS4 version and on a PC with maxed out settings for 1080p, the only difference for me that really stands out is the draw distance. It's a lot shorter on the PS4 (which can be annoying in wide open spaces when you move and things just pop in). The resolutions don't look very different to me at all.

Its all about the mouse control for me... I hate the controllers look ability I want to be precise as possible.

Its double edged though that, I play BF4, PS2 and some others on PS4 mainly now to and in real life people don't have the precision of a mouse and keyboard or the ability to instant 360, on a controller you have a more realistic delay, turn reaction etc thus i find not only do you survive longer on PS4 in FPS games because people can't instant headshot you miles away in a split second but i find it more realistic and entertaining.

I played battlefield 4 on PC a few weeks ago and i remember catching a glimpse of a guy running on my right far away and i instant span and double shotted him in the head, that most prob wouldn't be possible on PS4/Console and i was like wow i can't believe i did that.

Both have good points and bad points but i do prefer Console FPS because it feels everyone is on a more equal playing field.

Also i hear many people prefer ESO on PS4 because on PC people do something called Animation canceling, no idea what that is though but apparently it annoys many people into moving to console.

    The console resolutions are laughable.

You really don't need a comparison to know that the console is a disgusting mess.

1920x1080p? which 99% of most PC gamers run at? Also how is it a mess? you wanna know a cool fact? most PC gamers can't RUN ESO on max, 3 of my friends who played ESO in past had to use medium settings, it's laughable how that small % of PC gamers think every PC gamer is rocking a 980 16 gig of ram and the latest gen i7

Where are you getting your numbers? Most PC gamers run at that? I would say most that use their TV may... but I am probably wrong on that. How do you know most of PC gamers can't run on max? Did you count them all? I guess your statement is correct, as you wrote "most PC gamers," so that would include those who don't even play ESO.

Because everyone knows 1920x1080p is FULL HD and what the majority of pc gamers use, only the super dedicated PC gamers but monitors and dual gfx cards to run at 1440 or 4k, I just asked 7 people on my steam friends list online what ress they run and everyone is 1920x1080p

Soooooo 7 out of a few dozen (hundred?) millions of gamers = most ?

No put it's like a poll to show the general numbers, like when they ask 100 people for a survey. So the fact everyone i know uses 1920x1080 that's a pretty good indication and logical reason top suspect most people use 1920x1080 as moderate gamers or less.

And as nearly every PS4 game played by millions is in 1920x1080 that a good bet to :)

Wasn't there s Steam poll that showed 1920x1080 was the favoured resolution for most of its users (which was somewhere around 10 million at the time I think).

All this sword crossing over graphics is pointless. PC's will always have the better graphical capability if you're willing to throw your money at the hobby.

PS4 graphics are just fine though. No point in arguing among yourselves just because one version has a little better draw distance or shadow detail. It's just nit picking for the sake of having a dig at each other. Just enjoy the game for what it is for gods sake.

PC is far better every single time...here is why with proof.

Sorry but consoles can't use ESO Enhanced Graphics Launcher + SweetFX.....which gets rid of the crappy grey tint colors eso uses and the crappy distance fog from hell, completely removes them and gives a proper rich color scheme, ESO EGL gets rid of the horrible fog and enhances a few things, SweetFX overlays richer colors.

You can't do that with highly restrictive, non-upgradeable, non modifiable, overpriced box's of plastic called consoles. Sorry from a hardware and architecture pov it's purely factual and truth. Plus microsoft and sony do not allow anything because they control 100% of your gaming experience through a console....

I can't play default eso setup anymore without ESO Enhanced Graphics Launcher + SweetFX, the default colors and graphics in eso just SUCK so badly....they are terrible, especially the horrible distance fog they implemented.

That is why PC will always be better, not because of graphical power but because of the ability it gives to the user to have 100% control over their experience with tools, mods, addons etc and being 100% upgradable and gives a modifiable game experience, not restricted and controlled and limited like with consoles. IF that ever changes then consoles by that point would of just become PC's...in all and intensive purposes especially the hardware side of things. That will never happen though because that would require sony and microsoft to give more control to the players and less control to them so yeah never happen...

I get 60 fps max settings 1080p everywhere including pvp and I only have an i5 and old 2gb GTX 670...

Maybe it's just me but i don't like your after pics, i think the fog adds to the game a bit, seeing everything int he distance in perfect clarity looks tacky to me... In my 16 years on PC gaming i've never bothered much with mods and never liked sweet fx and at the end of the day when you stop comparing and just sit back and play the ps4 version you forget about the gfx and enjoy the game and story etc.

P.S. If my gtx 970 sc FTW can't get 60 fps on max in towns then i doubt your 670 could, i had the 670 ftw in the past and i upgraded and got much higher fps in ESO, so that's not right.
