funny thing my GF said while I was playing this game last night

I was just doing some random questing in Glenumbra, having a good time, and she said

"I feel like I'm listening to South Park characters talking right now, they just sound ridiculous"

Now I thought it was funny, because there are a bunch of NPC's that just talk in this weird, exaggerated way that sounds almost like cartoonish at times from my experience so far. And instead of being immersed in the quest I kind of just roll my eyes at how stupid they sound. But the quests in which the NPC's actually talk like normal people having sincere conversations are the quests that actually make me feel some emotion. Those are terrific for mmo questing. BTW, my gf was in love with watching me play Skyrim and would stop whatever she was doing just to watch me play, so it's not like she had no experience with gaming quest dialogues.

I love the questing so far, but just a word of advice Zenimax, for future quests you put in this game, try and have all the voice actors speak a little more believably, and less cartoony.

They can only have so many voice actors on their payroll... so reusing the actor, but making them change their voice does this

I also remember when the game launched, there was a bug and certain NPCs would speak in German on the English version.

I actually liked that better. As I don't speak German, it made it seem like these spirits were that much more exotic.

It was actually an interesting accident that added some flavor to the game. Why would all manner of creature automatically speak your native language, eh?

We always wondered, on the German version, if they spoke a different language, yet.

Yeh that was actually pretty appropriate. The Neriads in Arx Corinium. I remember the first time we went thru there and did a wtf? But then it seemed kinda cool.

Please tell me that was a developer's temp track accidentally left in by mistake. Because if not, whoever hired that voice "actor" should have been put on ZOS latrine duty.

I don't think so, that voice actor was in several other places, too. Still is, I think.

So, first off, your girlfriend sounds awesome! Does she have any sisters, aunts or a single mom? lol just playin. Do you remember the quest that was on? I'd like to go back and check, I really don't remember any "cartoonish" sounding npc's but I could've easily missed it.
