I have found this exact problem.
On top of the 10k I spent on a mount I've had to spend around 12k on bag and bank upgrades which is far too expensive if you ask me considering the money you get for items, unless it has a extra 280% to merchants trait on it, is absolutely nothing even if it's a rare item.
I got a yellow staff the other day and sold it to a merchant for 44coins... it's pathetic really.
I could join a large guild but I don't see why I should be forced to join a guild with hundreds of people I don't even know in person, it weirds me out thinking for all I know these people could have been to prison for serious criminal charges for all I know and I wouldn't even know.
I currently have an 80 slot bank, the next upgrade is 6.6k, and my bank currently consists of 42 different provisioning items because I get the same recipes over and over again, but I can't bring myself to throw the items or sell them for 1 gold each just in case I find a recipe that requires them.
These same provisions... such as an apple, cost 150 each from a Grocer in game. Ridiculous economy if you ask me.
At the bank, yes? I understand all of your characters will have access to it there. Am I wrong?create 4 characters in all professions play them up to level 10 don't spend any money just make it sell all the gear of the three you don't like and consolidate all the gold on the class you like the best and play that one. You should have about 30k to start with. You can go back and play the others later or delete but good to keep the three as bank slots for your main.

You are the exact reason there is no global auction house people always turn it into a mini game and drive the economy out of site of the players and force people to end up buying gold from gold sellers just to compete. No this is wrong! Still think everything bought from trade houses needs to be bound to the characters to prevent market manipulation like this.
When I first started, I was worried about how difficult it would be to earn gold. Last night in an hours worth of farming, I earned 3K in gold... that was with refining the metal, wood and cloth then selling the refined goods to a general merchant and then selling the Alchemy mats I collected in a trade guild. I could make more from selling the refined goods at the trade guild, but I don't find the price from general merchants a bad deal for stacks of refined mats and I usually have a need for the gold right away since I'm working on leveling three crafts by buying high end gear and deconstructing; right now I'm sitting on 17K.
I can easily earn 6K+ by spending two to four hours farming- helps to have points in the skills that help you see various crafting items, especially at night.
I actually enjoy farming, it's one of those mindless things I can do after a long 12-hour day at work that doesn't require me to think or use reflexes; I save my questing for days that I'm off.

Ultimately I'm not one to play the action house and spend hours searching different guild stores to snag cheap items to resell, but that's probably one of the better ways to make the big bucks. I made my gold by simply playing the game and buying upgrades when I could. Questing a character from level 1 to VR14 yields quite a bit of gold and gold itself is quite trivial outside of endgame gear and bank / mount / bag upgrades. All in all play the game, vender anything blue or below in terms of gear, deconstruct blue or above, sell off anything you don't need and don't hoard on one character. Make multiple 'mules' and store excess gear / material on them in order to save bank / bag space. I have a level 1 with maxed bag space and a maxed capacity mount purely to hold my 'this my be useful in the future' pieces of gear, it really helps the spacing issues.

Great suggestions. Thank you so much.
I had intended to create out a full 8 characters anyhow and play them to level 10 as was suggested so that they all have some stuff to work with (besides I wanted to create a whole family!). I'll start with 4 (one of each class) to start with though.
Question: Do I need to have a bank to trade gear between my toons or can I do it another way?

lmao... omg that is funny stuff. I am still giggling 5 mins after I read it.
@d3nbark3r Just steer clear of any trading guilds with names like "Correctional Unit Trading Empire" or "Reformed Felons Market Plaza" and you should be ok.
lol
But "Association of Totally Legitimate Businessmen" is OK, right?Alphashado wrote: »kylerjalen wrote: »I have found this exact problem.
