Before I start let me tell you that this is not meant to be antagonistic. But this is not WoW or other games that make orcs out to be barely above beasts. Orcs are already defined by TES lore.
To be fair, in early TES lore Orcs were portrayed as beasts more similar to goblins than the playable races.Elder Scrolls lore predates WoW
Think about that for a while.

If ESO didn't want to follow WoW and other games....wouldn't Orcs be more magic based?
In TES II they still had language and their own classes, similar to humanoid NPCs, and on the occasional quest would have dialogue.
I was thinking about Arena - and really, just the fact that their lore changed over time.driosketch wrote: »In TES II they still had language and their own classes, similar to humanoid NPCs, and on the occasional quest would have dialogue.

The use of fairly common literary trope does not mean that every use must be defined by all previous uses.
But if were to be that way we need to stop thinking about WoW, and Warhammer (although Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay was just brilliant) and look at Lord Of The Rings.
Wherein orcs are strongly rumoured to be corrupted elves.
All The Best
What is an Orc to you? Hopefully this will help us define new Orc racials.

I see what you did there!
Orcs, on the battlefield, are shock troops. They are heavily armed and armored, barreling at a breakneck speed with intent to break necks.
Orcs are the sturdiest warriors and finest smiths in the land, their works sought out across all of Tamriel.
Their origins lie in the Altmer and the old god, Trinimac.
But that is a story for another day.
The Orsimer fit my image of them perfectly. Of course, the Orsimer shaped my image of them. Can't wait to see Orsinium in the Wrothgar expansion!
Lorebit:Altmer
Bosmer
Dunmer
Orsimer
Manmer
Mer is elven for elf. The prefixes denote which type of elf.
Alt - high
Bos - wood
Dun - dark
Orsi - (I have not found a translation for this prefix. Orsimer is either translated as Pariah Folk or Orc.)
Man - man (Referring to the Bretons, a race born from Altmer in High Rock intermating with their Nedic slaves to form half elves in the Merethic Era. As the "mongrel race" interbred with its own kind, their appearance shifted toward man.)
To ESO Devs an Orc is a graceful gazelle tanks....sprinting through the wilderness while wearing plate armor, and running circles around the groups of mobs he's tanking.
To me it's a bloodthirsty savage beast...who moves slowly due to his bulky build and heavy armor. The more damage he takes the more damage he dishes out....from becoming enraged!

Most of the younger people never played arena or daggerfall so can't see how orc lore has been fleshed out over the years
Doubt most know one of DC's starting isles was in one of the adventure games for elder scrolls.
Orsimer in The elder scrolls lore are just fuggly mer. After that they can do whatever the butterflies they want.

(Transcript taken from: http://www.imperial-library.info/content/ending-orsinium )Under the command Gortwog, Numidium destroys the other powers of Iliac Bay: Daggerfall, Sentinal and Wayrest. The new orcish homeland is carved out for Orsinium. And the Empire will never be able to dispute Gorthwog's claim to orcish equality.

My apologies for my lack of clarity; comprehended what reference you were making to Redguard.
Was meaning the mention of Crypt of Hearts to be another additional tidbit.
