Zenimax, if you were a bank you would no doubt leave the safe open and ask customers not to steal while your out to lunch.
IMO any Addon that allows you to perform multiple tasks with 1 click should be considered a macro and not allowed. The only exception to which would be the Skills Addon. Where you can change out all 5 skills at once. You should NEVER be able to change out all weapons and gear with 1 click of a button. That's a macro disguised as an Addon.
The Addons I use are Destinations, Lorebooks, Skyshards, Master merchant because lets face it, the vanilla guild store is just horrible and skill swap. I also use some for crafting that have no impact on PVE or PVP fighting.
@ZOS should have just made the game a lot better and that would have eliminated the need for Addons. To have to use an Addon to see what item you sold in the guild store is a FAIL for ZOS. To have to use an Addon to search for an item by name in the Guild Store is a FAIL for ZOS. To have to use Addons to show damage and healing logs is a FAIL for ZOS.

I can play while laying in a couch/bed....while you sit up straight in a proper position slapping away at your keyboard.
why is this always an argument console players make? It's honestly so confusing because (a)you can play pc anywhere (and even multiple rooms with the same system) I play on my couch and from my bed. And (b)pc can use any controller. Heck, I could use this http://www.makeymakey.com/ and turn my bed into a controller and play by rolling around...I can play while laying in a couch/bed....while you sit up straight in a proper position slapping away at your keyboard.

show me just one video link someone changing gear during fight...
Please re-read my OP. I have admitted to making a mistake. The change only happens outside of combat. I disagree with those who say/claim it is ok to do this. I am entitled to my opinion on why this is game breaking, for me at least.

do you know why?
because gears and skill selections does not make or break a fight.
you can change from heavy armor to light armor - and you can change from 2H sword to resto staff... everyone can do it. some add-on makes it faster, but everyone can use the same add-on.
what's possibly GAME-BREAKING are,
1. changing your trait (health vs magika vs stamina) or your champion points or skill points and morphs - ON THE FLY. changing these should always COSTS and OUT of combat.
2. changing ANYTHING DURING combat.
Fortunately, neither those 2 are possible.
there are no problems.
if you see someone with a robe and destro staff walking and suddenly it swaps to medium armors with 2H sword, then you can either (or both)
1. Learn2Play. Either come up with a better more flexible build, or stick to the zerg, or pick only solo fights, whatever.
2. download the same add-on.
But of course, these are just my opinions.wrong.coryevans_3b14_ESO wrote: »agreed with op..some of addons are good like AUI with minimap but some other like FTC with its dps meter..it will promote elitism and generally these kind of stuff are wow clone stuff...it is time for zinemax to add stuff like mini map and improve quality of life improvement and remove addons all together..no 3rd party sofware should be allowed in an mmo..every body must play equally..NOW do no forget these are honest game play addons..we have other addons or hacks when game coding allows for 3rd party softwares.
FTCs dps meter ONLY shows your own DPS. The only way to see someone elses is if they ALSO have FTC and have the option turned on. All you folks claiming this garbage about addons giving unfair advantages, ruining games, etc are 1 of 2 things.
FTC 0.65 by default has an opt-out option.
by default, it's enabled.
Atropos mentioned this in this forum and in TF forum *AND* i actually use it without changing ANYTHING and when grouped in cyrodiil last night or doing pledges last couple nights, I can sometimes see others DPS who has the add-on (alongside my own)
and when i mentioned this to them they'd be like "WHA?? howd u see that??"
Where was I wrong? I said only if it was turned on. LOL you said I was wrong because it's enabled by default? I think the word wrong doesn't mean what you think it means.

ah sorry. you're right.
i guess my piece of information is an addition - not a correction - to your quote: that by default, anyone who download the add-on will immediately "broadcast" their DPS to anyone else who has the same add-on.
just food for thought.

At which point the game will be recycled through used sales at Gamestop generating zero revenue for ZOS.

Literally two months after console release no one will be playing this game on consoles.
Console players have like ADD they cant pay attention to a game for more than a month or two.... unless its COD because that game turns your brain into soup, literally I have caught myself drooling on my shirt while playing that *** just mindless garbage with no challenge.
I have reverted to playing tetris and contra , I dont even own a console anymore I sold them all off/gave them away.
I can play while laying in a couch/bed....while you sit up straight in a proper position slapping away at your keyboard.
I will never be able to explain this to hardcore PC players...but I just love the feel of using a controller in games. Sure...using a keyboard and mouse has way more control...but something about using a controller just makes it into a more enjoyable experience for me...even with a "slight" decrease in graphics. I say slight because I played the PC version since BETA on a $3k self built computer...and the PS4 version while lacking in some areas...is still very good quality.

Agreed. While I didn't start playing with addons until after I had already been through cadwells gold, I couldn't go back. This "immersion" excuse that ZOS makes is more like laziness and ineptitude when it comes to UI design. I have seen ZOS make excuses for things so many times over the last year that this is my automatic reaction.
- Graphics wise, Tamriel looks gorgeous on PC. I find the graphics on the console version a little jagged and the textures aren't great.
This is a screenshoot taken from a beta of age of conan in april 2007.
I think ESO has relativly dated graphics, and as the years pass it will age quickly. That's my guess atleast.

Show me a player changing their armour right before the fight starts... He must be able to do it in the blink of an eye to compete with this mod - they do not stand a chance...
I see you, your in light armour with two swords, I begin to formulate how I intend to whoop your butt (If I can)... Then just as I start to run towards you you change into Full plate with a sword and board... Suddenly my plan on whooping you just broke, right as you land the first blow.
This is a game breaker.

Show me somewhere is Cyro that you do all these magical 1v1 battles?
Also, if you want such "immersion" how about when I kill you, you have to reroll since you are dead!

Also they have chat box..
I bet console will also within 2 months also, but until then PC master race can brainwash themselves into thinking ESO PC is the better version.
Honestly I was here playing the very first MMO's back in the 90's and I will say that the age of PC MMO's is in its final days. The money is in the mass sales... More people own consoles than there are people willing to build a 2k rig anymore. Not to mention if your child ask you to build a 2k PC so he can play a video game and the same game is on the $350 console what do you think most parents are going to do?

I don't think he knows what STEAM is. It's cool; he'll come around eventually.

How many times have you been PvP'ing an opponent only to suddenly see their armour and weapons change plus the attacks they use change... Kind of ruins any plan you had on beating this bloke...
So lets break this down. The game is built to allow us to change weapons and the skills associated with them, seems like the devs made a choice to limit this to a sensible two weapon/ability sets, great! So why is an add-on allowed that changes this to allow full armour sets to be changed - multiple sets of weapons, armours and skill bars at the click of a button - Not what the game was meant to be, not what we are taught in the tutorial but still it's allowed.
You now have no choice but to play in the same way or your screwed. This is just one add-on, their are others which, for me at least, break the game. Console players can't have add-ons so they win. They get the game the way the devs intended it to be while on the PC we are left with a Cluster F**** of add-ons which are actually more like mods, math lovers who just want a screen full of numbers or it's not an MMO and elitist guilds that resent B2P/Returning players while insisting you min/max stats or your just wasting your life.
So if like me you were sold on the game's mechanics being similar to other Elder Scrolls games the game is now nothing more than any other half hearted Korean MMO.
Well done console players, for once you got the better game.
never, because what u say is not possible, if your fighting someone, he cant change his gear and skills in fight, while hes in combat, thats NOT POSSIBLE
what is possible is if he gets far away from you so he gets out of combat (wich isnt easy in this game since in pvp your most of the time in combat even when your not) then he can change his skills and gear with a simple click yes, if he has saved those set ups before, but by this time he is so far away you can do the same even without the addon
this addon is to make it easyer for the players with the lacking game ui of Zos, want to change from your dungeon build to your pvp build without wasting half an hour, simple, load other gear, load other skills and done, instead of searching in that clusterf*ck of what Zos calls an inventory, and then manually having to reslot every skill
get ur facts right before u come spewing nonsence
