My account has switched from European server to NA, and now cannot access my profile why???

My character downloads, purchases and add on's are now only available on the North American server so I cannot now play with my friends. This is very frustrating as they are all pressing further in the game and I cannot play, it just tells me to create a new character but none of my purchases or add on's are there. Anyone out there had the same issue and can help??!
