Awesome and much better than current maps that feel artificial.

I like the style of the maps. They remind me of 90's rpg game maps like in Might & Magic. Maybe they weren't 'modern' enough.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom any way we could get the art of these maps released. Not in game per say but maybe I can make an add-on out of these. Would be cool to have them as a choice.

Maps on the game is fine, but stuff like zooming in and out seems rather unresponsive at times.

My mini map has these skins, but they are a little off in some places.

Oh my they certainly would @Kalifas! It's a shame to see such wonderful maps not be used in-game. Of course, what we have now is much better than just a birds eye view of the world like we had in Skyrim.

Looking at a side by side of the maps you presented and the maps we actually have I can see the functional reason behind the maps we have but man... more map looking maps would have been great. Just toss this into the pile of missed opportunities that Journal looking Journals and inventory categories are in.

I actually prefer the maps we have.

They show more of the terrain and the actual layout of towns, and those older style maps give away too much (like that there's absolutely nothing you can actually explore on the peninsula south of Daggerfall).

Of the two, I definitely prefer the current maps. They're much more detailed, usable (especially for elevation). While I like the concept of the older maps they seem kind of flat and generic at the same time.
