Um, what? This thread is specifically for console players. It has it right in the title of the thread and in the question for the voting poll. Why would consoles need a separate thread from this one that's already specifically for consoles?coryevans_3b14_ESO wrote: »There needs to be a separate thread for consoles.
Totally off-topic, but if you're level 6 and you're doing those things then I can tell that you're in Daggerfall and you're doing the quests there without having done the starter islands (Stros M'kai and Betnikh). There should have been a quest giver immediately across the street from the house you woke up in after the Coldharbour tutorial. I strongly suggest you follow that quest and go to Stros M'kai, and do all of the quests and such there (which then leads you to Betnikh, where you should do the quests there) before continuing on questing in Daggerfall and the rest of Glenumbra.I have been listening/reading all the dialogue but I will say I am still in the very beginning and I am hoping the story line starts getting better. I feel the MMO grind right now is just something I have to push through. Mind you I am still only a lvl6, so it's bound to get better than rescuing pigs, people, and investigating a local murder.
If you don't do the starter islands you'll miss out on XP, skill points (there are sky shards there), the beginning of your alliance's storyline, and quests designed to teach you some of the common questing mechanics (like the use of disguises). By the time you finish the starter islands, if you haven't done any quests in Glenumbra you should be about level 8. As you've clearly already done some quests in Glenumbra, you'll probably be almost level 10 by the time you finish the starter islands.

I still say it was dumb to start us in the 3rd zone instead of doing the story progression. Going backwards to go forwards really ruins the storyline imo.... the EP story doesn't even make SENSE now that you start in Stonefalls and take a ship backwards... lol
I just can get more into/focused on console games for some reason, always been like that. I read every single line of dialogue in Paper Mario games (no voice acting), but if it were on PC, I'd probably skip a lot of the lines when they start rambling.Really? I'm curious why you do it differently depending on the platform. I can understand why you might do it differently depending on the type of game (like, for example, skipping it in an MMO, but reading it in a single player RPG), but I can't think of a reason why you would do it differently based on the platform.I normally skip that stuff with PC games, but I read it all on console games.

I posted because I did exactly the same thing at PC launch over a year ago (in Daggerfall even). I even had the exact same reasoning as you - I figured that since that quest sent me somewhere else, I probably wasn't supposed to do it until I'd already done everything in Daggerfall (and maybe even in all of Glenumbra). Boy was I ever wrong, and it made the game much harder for me until I finally decided to go and do that quest anyway...Totally off-topic, but if you're level 6 and you're doing those things then I can tell that you're in Daggerfall and you're doing the quests there without having done the starter islands (Stros M'kai and Betnikh). Thanks for that, I had only just found that quest giver and I am almost level 7 I had been ignoring that quest as I assumed it took me to the next zone not a starting zone. I will hit that one up first thing tonight

Actually it does make a massive difference, because OP is specifically wanting to know if console players are reading the dialogue. There have already been multiple polls in the past about whether PC players read the dialogue, so presumably the entire point of this thread is because the OP is curious if there's a significant difference between the numbers of console players and PC players who read the dialogue.coryevans_3b14_ESO wrote: »Um, what? And the quests are the same either way so it doesn't make a difference.

Could not agree more. In Beta you started in the starter zones (and some of the NPC dialogue in the starter islands still references you waking up there), but unfortunately ZOS listened to a handful of morons who for some reason thought it was a bad idea to start in the starter zones, and complained loudly about it. Listening to those vocal idiots is one of the worst decisions ZOS has made.Totally off-topic, but if you're level 6 and you're doing those things then I can tell that you're in Daggerfall and you're doing the quests there without having done the starter islands (Stros M'kai and Betnikh).
