New players not standing a chance on console against transfers!!

Too me, I don't see what the huge hoo-haa is all about. I only started playing about a month or so before ESO:TU launched. I played a bit in open beta. So I pretty much started with nothing. Don't see me whining about it.

Whining about the bit of advantage the others will have, that will disappear only a few weeks after launch? Don't get it.
So what - every time someone new decides to pick up a copy of ESO (PC or console) all character should be reset to level 1 so everyone has a fair chance?

I can get the plight of the guy that missed the cut-off however. He was looking forward to playing his toons on the console and no longer can.

Unless you have VR14s, you don't know how large the difference is. That said, it's not meant to scare away the NCPs. Forewarned is forarmed.

Maybe when the NCPs go into Cyrodiil as level 10s, they'll go in as groups and maybe even surprise some VRs. :)

Well with the lack of codes being sent out I think the new players will have plenty of time before the transfers can get in.
7hours till launch here and still no code. Launch in Sydney will be even sooner and they have yet to receive their codes.
When codes are finally given, only then the huge download can take place.

Besides, as a transferee myself, I plan to help others in pvp and pve. Yes I might use this to my advantage, but it will promote community within the alliance and will be beneficial to new players.

Hello as a new person coming to ESO for PS4 will there be servers for only fresh starters and not people getting transfered in with there veteran rank 10 characters from pc?

Or will we new players have to be bullied by these transfer characters and them screw up the market.

    thanks.

****So after reviewing all the posts what it seems is obvious.***

    - PC Vet Players with VR Ranks and Champion points (So New console players don't meet these players as they will ruin your game experience ignore them simple and do not join the regular campaigns as they will gank and grief you and you cannot do a single thing except wave a stick at them)
    - Already players with 5million gold seek to exploit the market and make it so new starters will have to struggle for every coin they get.
    - Expect to play for 2-3 months to get any chance of competing with these players.

So all in a basket we all on for a ride.

Shame I did not read sooner about this otherwise would of told my cousin not to purchase this game hoping it be a fresh start.

ZeniMax should of only let transfers in about 1-2 months after release not on day 1 launch what a way to ruin a experience for console players.
    ****

I am transferring to the console (PS4 EU) from PC.

Whilst I completely understand the concerns of fresh console players about hardened PC players transferring (I do not profess to be one btw), in my opinion however, TESO breed of players are not as immature and nasty as those that play that 'other game.' Do not get me wrong, there will be PC Vet players that will gank newbies repeatedly and attempt to extort the economy etc., but these issues probably won't be as bad as they would be in that 'other game.'

Further, fresh console players should try and focus on some of the positives. I have found TESO community to be somewhat helpful. TESO might be overwhelming to some new players (especially those fresh to MMORPGs), and therefore, in my view, help from some of the hardened PC players should be welcomed. I am more than confident that there will be many PC players who will go out of their way to help newbies (even if the reason behind it is not to be altruistic, but simply to feel a sense of superiority...we all know what MMO players are like).

Lastly, and this is only speculation, I doubt the number of those transferring from PC will be high.

Thats all this is. And it didnt take long. 2 Pages in and people are already predicting the failure of the game on Console.

Honestly this forum is getting as bad as STOs forum. Nothing but whiners and doom sayers. Most of the worthwhile threads with useful information and game improvement possibilities are buried by this nonsense.

I'd be curious to see exactly what the count is for players that are actually transferring and wonder if that number is as extreme as some people are making it out to be. Considering the amount of transferring players will be overshadowed by the number of new players, I really don't see this as being a problem. Along with, as what others have said, within a short period of time many of these new players will catch up anyway. Funny how people make mountains out of molehills, when the reality is, ANY MMO that you join after launch has high level players... and ESO is not new, it will be new for consoles, but in reality it is not a new game. Thus, like any other MMO, you'll have to make your way to the top, where at that point, you're then the player who has an advantage over new players. What people are asking is akin to saying that when you join any MMO, new players should be segregated on another server, away from veteran players, until they reach a certain level, which is not how an MMO works.

However, when it comes to currency transfer, I have mixed feelings. I think they should have put a gold cap on the transfer, and thereby not allow veteran players to have a means of manipulating the trade market from the start. On one hand you hate to penalize a player who has amassed a large amount of gold over time, yet on the other hand you have to weigh the potential for harm this will have to the initial game economy.

The Gold issue is something that also may or may not become an issue. If the player is savvy with his money then hell undoubtly profit from the transfer. If he is not then he will eventually spend it all.

People are claiming that Transferees have Gold that they didnt amass themselves....Well if they didnt have the know how to amass that gold on their own. Im not so sure I believe theyll have the know how to manipulate the market on Console and build some financial empire for themselves.

Same thing with items. Anyone looking into price gouging Console players are going to be in for a shock. Because Day 1 they will have very little gold to spend. Surely not enough for whatever insane prices will be posted for items on Guild Stores. Those items will either sit there for months collecting dust or theyll price drop them. If they collect dust, by the time players start buying them the Transferees will have a larger portion of the Playerbase to compete with on the market. And whatever advantage they had would be lost.

The player transferring that knows what hes doing would of profited with or without the items and gold. The player knows the game, knows the ins and outs of the player market, his real advantage is his experience.

I suspect that anyone dupping is only clever in that the forsaw an opportunity to take items and gold that werent theirs. But if they didnt amass that gold and have them items already. I highly question their ability to finally get it right on Console.

Umm, for starters, lower level characters get a buff in PvP maps, so there isn't that large of an advantage. Also, thinking that the loyal players of ESO should have to wait and give the new players some time to catch up is just ridiculous. ESO on PC is getting new players all the time without issue. I've played my ass off getting my character to where it is and I bought the game intending to transfer it the moment I could. I shouldn't be penalized for being among the players who have been playing since day one. In fact, we probably should've got early access for sticking with the game through all the changes from the original buggy (and not as fleshed out) game. However, we have to wait longer than all the fresh pre-ordered players to even download it. Which, by the way means, many of the new players will have a head start on the veterans.

The Major Problem on the Trans is that you keep the Gold/Items on both Systems.
So ppls from big guilds let them give all the Money and unbound items for the Trans and
after they give anything back on PC while they have anything possible on Console.

they should delet the Gold and not bound items on pc witch are transfared

Everyone seems to forget about gold farmers. They're transferring over just like the rest, and just like some others they merged their gold to each about before transfer. Being able to copy millions into a fresh market without even having to level and farm first? This is the best thing to ever happen to gold farmers, and by relation to those who buy from them.

Whole thing just shows a sever lack of forethought for cp and gold alike.

They should of just allowed a account transfer with no characters only name reservations and free copy of ESO for XB1 and PS4. like some other mmos did.

If they had done that then not many of us would have paid for the account copy.

Sounds like a poorly made choice by ZeniMax only in it for money only to end up losing players on a game being released on console for first time for them as they allowed people to transfer there geared and all characters.

Doesn't look like there will be any separation. In PVE it won't be a a big deal.....in PVP...well....the transfers will have a MASSIVE advantage that new players will never be able to catch up to

Essentially new players will catch up but it's very short sited of the devs to release something like the CP system a couple months before console deployment.

Then again, Zos has not demonstrated good leadership from the start. My hope is that, eventually, this second year will show some improvement in how they manage our game.

Just play the game, you will catch up. Also there will be non-vet campaigns to play while you lvl. Then when you hit vr1 just stay in large groups and face roll... chances are you will have as many transfers in your Alliance as the opposing faction. Unless of course you are going up against the Dominion, then my friend, you are taking your life in your own hands ;)

Hey am going to play ESO on my Xbox. This will be my Second time playing ESO,I played the console beta a few months ago and I also been following the game and forums since the console version was delayed. So I was well aware that their will be console transfer do I l think it was fair no.Will that stop me from playing a game I waited a year to play No.Just play the game and have fun. Most console transfer are running new characters anyway so most players you come across will be around the same level as you so just have fun. Also even if there wasn't transfer they still have experience which means just as much.

You can do much better as a battle leveled non vet than you can as a low VR character. Research how battle leveling works and you will see. While low VR level characters can contribute they are usually easily killed by VR14's unless the low VR character is pretty experienced.

If you believe that, go in as a level 10, wear the level 10 and below quest gear, and go into an active regular campaign.

I have, as a non VR you are much more survivable than a VR2 or 3. Your HP is around 30K and your magicka and stamina are around 16K each. I don't remember the numbers but your weapon and spell strength and armor are also normalized so it doesn't matter as much as what you are wearing. Set bonuses also don't apply except for the 5th bonus on most sets and weapon or spell crit. So you can have legendary set armor with +1000 magicka or weapon damage or stamina or health and it won't do a thing for your stats.

I didn't say you were going to own face, just that you are not as bad off as you think. Here is a link that goes through the mechanics of battle leveling with input from people that PVP a lot and know what they are talking about. forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/166062/blackwater-blade-and-stats#latest . Post #12 pretty much lays it out for you. Personally I think the battle level mechanic is why Blackwater Blade is such a fun PVP experience compared to the Vet campaigns.

    Good spinning.

I put my level 10 in Cyrodiil during the end of week 1 or early week 2. That's when there were many low levels in Cyrodiil and I could see the difference already between us and the players who were already in the low VRs. Best thing to do was to stay with the pack or get insta-killed one on one.

When I hit VR12 with my NB (before ZOS upped the VR cap to 14), I wanted to see what the level difference was like so I targeted the toons in visually identifiable low level quest gear. They went down easily. Even though they have upleveled health, they don't have access to the same damage dealing and damage mitigation skills a VR level character has. No contest.

Bummer guess you shouldnt play then . zos has tons of issues this is a minor 1 at best. In my opinion.

Dude, as many ppl that got sandy about not being able to be 'texter chatter boxes' on a console version..there shouldn't be a lot of the 'vets'. A whole lotta 'no text chat, I'm done with this game then' type posts were made......

Why you would want to spread the word to not buy/roll this game, is beyond me. Roll awhile, build ur toon and then go into pvp. I personally do not pvp unless it's a shooter game. I just plan to group up, roll this game, have fun, kill cht and do quests....just like wats done on the single player Elder Scrolls games (minus the grouping of course)

    I'm offended that ur offended....

Here's the thing, new players joining in on the PC version have the same issue so I really don't see how this is all that big of a deal. Sure, players will be established as soon as it is launched on console but new players even on PC are at that same disadvantage anyway. There are non-vet campaigns too, so again, not as big an issue as people are making it out to be.
