I'm a bit confused - what's the difference between a new console player playing ESO and a new PC player playing ESO?
Same footing, surely?

PVP is easy. My team has 100 vs your 5. GG. " Your keep all belong to us ".Most console players will be PVE interested guaranteed. Questing and dungeons and no addons means way more PVE based. Also me being one of the first vampires in early access I have a Vet 10 being transfered from near ESO PC release and just using him for the vampire bites who seem worthy!! I plan on rolling a new character. Many PC to console players will be rolling new characters guaranteed. Crafting doesn't matter much either because the best sets are found in dungeons and while questing.pmitchell126b16_ESO wrote: »Well from what I gathered so far with this thread is..
Yes console players new console players are screwed for months to come best move to another mmorpg on console and just let the transfer characters dominate the server.. screw the market and every other player while a slow death happens with population and little fun is over.

If you believe that, go in as a level 10, wear the level 10 and below quest gear, and go into an active regular campaign.

Not entirely, as some people have been pushing the limits of character transfers, so to speak, in order to have items and gold available on console that they didn't have on the PC. In addition to the character level/champion points/crafting researches/riding skill training, it will make it particularly hard for new players in a competitive setting.

How can you transfer something that doesn't exist in the first place?

They borrow the gold or items, and then after the day ZOS cloned the characters and inventory they paid back their friends and/or guild. The console clone has the gold and items and since the items were not removed from the PC server the items can be returned to wherever they were borrowed from.

It wouldn't surprise me if ZOS clamps down on this after they get past the busy console release. It'd probably be pretty easy to spot huge gold transfers that happened just before the release and then track down similar transfers back on PC after the release, and then take the gold off the players. They've done stuff like this before for exploits.

Secondly, the way the transfer was done is VERY dubious. Many people announced their intention to borrow gold (and possibly other items) by the cut-off date for the transfer, in what I consider to be a massive duplication exploit. Why call it duplication? Because while on the PC servers for each borrower there are lenders they must answer to, and the borrowing deprives the lender of the use of the gold/items borrowed, on console said borrowers won't owe anybody. It's just gold and items created out of thin air, not having been obtained by valid ways - looting/farming or purchasing/trading. To my knowledge, ZOS never condemned this, and by implication I assume they see nothing wrong with it and will allow it.
I'd wager the first few weeks of consoles will see transfer players milk as much as possible from new players by having a monopoly of crafting skills and materials (especially gold improvement materials and glyphs, as well as Nirncrux), rare motifs, rare equipment in high demand, etc.
I'm very skeptical that the game will come away unscathed by this. But who knows, maybe I'll be proved wrong.

Or will we new players have to be bullied by these transfer characters and them screw up the market.
thanks.
****So after reviewing all the posts what it seems is obvious.***
- PC Vet Players with VR Ranks and Champion points (So New console players don't meet these players as they will ruin your game experience ignore them simple and do not join the regular campaigns as they will gank and grief you and you cannot do a single thing except wave a stick at them)
- Already players with 5million gold seek to exploit the market and make it so new starters will have to struggle for every coin they get.
- Expect to play for 2-3 months to get any chance of competing with these players.
So all in a basket we all on for a ride.
Shame I did not read sooner about this otherwise would of told my cousin not to purchase this game hoping it be a fresh start.
ZeniMax should of only let transfers in about 1-2 months after release not on day 1 launch what a way to ruin a experience for console players.

I just wanted to post it, too.. There is no difference. New players, no matter if on PC or console, will always meet VR14 players. I don't get the point of this thread.

I mostly did it for my character bank, and all my mounts and stuff to transfer over. I have 1 character a level 15 NightBlade in the Ebonheart Pact faction (can't remember race though as I own the explorers pack.) I have changed characters 57 times never going past level 25, as I kind of have an addiction to changing chars. I more than likely will start fresh upon starting ESO Xbox One Edition for the sake of playing over again, the convenience in the matter is the fact I won't have to go to crafting supply searching right away.

I have, as a non VR you are much more survivable than a VR2 or 3. Your HP is around 30K and your magicka and stamina are around 16K each. I don't remember the numbers but your weapon and spell strength and armor are also normalized so it doesn't matter as much as what you are wearing. Set bonuses also don't apply except for the 5th bonus on most sets and weapon or spell crit. So you can have legendary set armor with +1000 magicka or weapon damage or stamina or health and it won't do a thing for your stats.
I didn't say you were going to own face, just that you are not as bad off as you think. Here is a link that goes through the mechanics of battle leveling with input from people that PVP a lot and know what they are talking about. forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/166062/blackwater-blade-and-stats#latest . Post #12 pretty much lays it out for you. Personally I think the battle level mechanic is why Blackwater Blade is such a fun PVP experience compared to the Vet campaigns.
