Any Windows 10 Users Notice a Big Difference in ESO with the Latest Build?

I refuse to put a beta OS on my computer.
Why risk problems and interruptions to my work/game play?
I'm not giving feedback to Microsoft, so what's the point?

My windows 7 ultimate 64-bit runs fine.
ESO runs well on it. There is some sort of memory leak, but that's the game and not the OS.

Okay it turns out I spoke too soon earlier, I had the build that was released before DX12 was included. I now have upgraded to Build 10122 and have DX12 enabled. I have noticed a difference, not so much in how the game looks, but how it's handled on my CPU. Now the load is even across all CPU's CPU cores* (derp) and I don't have as much framerate decrease in busy areas like non-vet Rawl'Kha or Vulkhel Guard. Overall I like it! And Windows 10 has been a nice upgrade for me, because I hated Windows 8. I feel like this is a nice blend of Pre-Windows 8 and Windows 8 to the point where it's not a huge shock to my system. LOL.

there is absolutely no benefit from going windows 7/8.1 to windows 10.. its the same crappy NTFS partition with slow multitasking capability, and explorer is still lame as hell, comparable to a real operating system like RPM-based openSUSE with ext4, the performance is FAR better though u wont have DX9~12 support it would be Mesa/OpenGL instead

Well there must be something wrong with Linux if its so good, free and still has <1% of the market. Valve tried to fix that with porting the games to Linux, but no success there.

Linux is for programmers. Programmers are the elite of computer users and therefore as elite arent that many. Thats why Linux will never get even close to 5% of the market. When it gets there its not proper Linux anymore.

Funny thing is, there are far more programmers working on Macs than other Linux distributions. But they are actually busy programming instead of chatting in /r/linux

If they do end up optimizing for Direct X 12, then having it on XBOX ONE might end up being ultimately better than PS4! Heres hoping!

I don't blame you. In a couple months it will be released anyway, hopefully with a few less bugs.

No one asked you to...? The OP was asking about how it ran for those of us who did.

I'm throwing it on today to see, since the CPU bottlenecking in towns and cities is substantial like with most games of this type, and a couple of people already have mentioned it helps alleviate it :D.

Just spent 30 minutes backing up settings files and then reformatting a drive to put the Windows 10 Insider Preview on and reinstalling ESO, TeamSpeak, Office, MSI Afterburner, and a few other random odds and ends.... and it's awesome. Just smoother and more performant on so many levels.... as to ESO, it is vastly improving my performance in cpu heavy areas of the game like towns and cities with moderate or high player counts, and hopping into Cyrodiil had the same result with much higher (only played ~30 minutes to test it out) performance, framerates averaging around a good 60%+ higher off the bat, though I couldn't find a MASSIVE keep siege just a smaller one :).

Anyone who owns windows 7, 8, or 8.1 should be upgrading day 1 when it is released if they don't want to put on the preview version. It's just that good on every angle. It's a free and permanent upgrade from Microsoft.

OK went and got Win10 preview 10125 and I must say it was easy to setup and running fine except still having issues with the DVD Burner but am committed to try and work it out with the insider's.

This preview is like day and night from preview 10074.

Were you able to download 10125, or did your install upgrade to that version? I could only find Preview 10074, I installed it lastnight and it upgraded itself to 10122.

Took me most of night but finally got my DVD Burner to work. If you look it is out there. Yes builds should come thru the update if you are an insider. I did get full ISO, if you look it is out there.

Ahhh, I see now, I didn't realize Microsoft was releasing different versions at the same time. Looks like internally they are on build 10130 now. I currently have build 10122, which is the "official" build release from last week, so I'm good with that.

HEADS UP for anyone installing Windows 10 Preview!
BEFORE you start the Windows 10 install, you may want to check your Bios Boot Settings 1st.

NOTE: If you are planning to install ONLY Windows 10 on your PC, then you shouldn't have issues. BUT, if you intend to dual boot Windows 10 with Windows 7/8, then THESE SETTINGS may be crucial to insure your PC boots properly.

Generally speaking there are 2 different types of systems in PC's:
BIOS in older legacy systems(over 2~3 years old)
    UEFI in most newer systems

The problem is that Windows 7 supports BIOS systems and Windows 8/10 supports UEFI(with bios compatibility). So if you have an older system that you installed Windows 8 on, or if you have a newer system that you preferred to run Windows 7 on, then you may have issues setting up a dual boot system with Windows 10. Here's what I found so far. If you find a different solution that works, please feel free to share it.
    • If you want to Dual boot Windows 10 with Windows 7 installed on a new UEFI system, then you need to disable UEFI in the BIOS so the system can read both installations at boot time.
    • If you want to Dual boot Windows 10 with Windows 8 installed on a new UEFI system, then you should make sure UEFI is enabled in the BIOS. This provides the best security.

In any case, you may have to fiddle around with the settings if you don't get a dual boot screen that looks similar to this after you install Windows 10.

Here is a general guide that shows you How to Dual-Boot Windows 10 with Windows 7 or 8

I did a fresh install but thanks for the heads up just in case I decide to dual boot. Right now am loving this new build with Win10. Going to keep it on unless a newer build hits and screws things up.

Keep in mind if you decide to dual boot later, the general rule is to install the OLDER OS(s) 1st, then install the newest OS last. The newest OS's should recognize any older OS's during the installation, where as the inverse usually isn't true, because the older OS's wont recognize a newer OS.

I have been running the game on windows 10 for a few months now and have had very few problems, no more than I had on windows 8.1 or windows 7.

I run max settings and probably average around 75 fps (gtx-980) (i7-4790) (27 inch screen/1080). Of course this is in PVE and I haven't taken this newer computer to PVP yet.

Geforce has an windows 10 beta driver out and that is what I am using.

I've been having terrible luck with Windows 7, so I'm hoping I'll get a little ESO love from Win10.

I think win 8.1 runs it better. At least for my rig it did. No idea about win 10 tho

It's got to be better than Windows 7 on my rig, it was horribly unstable with ESO. So far no frequent crashes with Windows 10.
BTW, Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for Windows 7/8 users when its released, and for now the preview is free.

You did a fresh install with the ISO, or found a way to get windows updater to download it?

BTW, I'm on 10125 now, its way better than 10074 was. I was reading the tweets from Microsoft, they hinted that 10130+ should be an ISO download as early as next Thursday.

When I ordered the parts for my new computer build a few months back I didn't order an operating system for it. Windows 10 beta was just starting......... so I downloaded that OS.

I used an SSD drive for the OS install..........12 second boot time with W-10 and the SSD drive! (I like that). I don't have anything to compare the system against though because the video card, the hard drive.......and the OS have only been on this machine. (it's very fast at everything, but faster than what}.

I haven't been able to get ESO to run at all on Ubuntu, but then again I haven't really tried, so I am not really a source of knowledge on this subject even though I do use Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
