Isn't this what tab target does?

No. Tab target is nothing more than a visual display to help the user aim. In no way shape or fashion does it lock onto the target or provide automated targeting. It's a misnomer.
They stated early on while game was in development that this game would be similar to a fps where skill would be determined by player aiming. There would be no targeting lock like other mmorpgs. Zos is unlikely to change game mechanics at this point. They are at a state where they are fixing bugs and developing new content. Not reinventing themselves.

well their point of view scks cos im playing third person and im looking from above how come they expect me to aim like a FPS game thats BS and its nothing to do with re inventing they maybe trying to be unqiue but its not that its totally useless.
if you trying to be unique you can replace something old with better version of it. But traditional target lock system is work perfectly and their system is not working and this doesnt make them unique its makes them broken in my eyes. I can walk around in the streets on my hands naked and flowers stuck on my butt that would made me unique ? Yes maybe it would but in a bad way.

It might be useless for you but for those of us who knew how targeting works before we bought the game its great. There are plenty of Tab targeting only MMO's out there already. In this game you have to aim and move to hit what you want and i love it. You also can now move the camera to where ever you want to solve your issue.

you cant aim if other mobs blocking your target and im playing third person. Their system is flawed and conflicts with other things maybe their intention is good but its not working.

But that is the point. You cant magically hit a mob behind other mobs without positioning and aiming. That healer is in the back for a reason and im glad it takes a little more planning and skill to get to him first. I also play in third person and use the TAB soft lock as a means for tracking and focus.
ZOS please gives us a better targeting system. Im tired of ambushing rats or other things around. Lets us lock on our target. And in dungeons sometimes bosses have lots of adds next to them and targeting with tab doesnt work cos if our crosshair point something else our abilities follows the crosshair not the marked target with the TAB. I wasted my ultimates couple times because of this targeting system.

what about overlapping mobs. Also you cant pick mobs if they are too many. Aiming in third person especially in mmorpg=fail. If there are multiple targets like 3-5 when you aim its not precise especially when you are far away its hilighting the target automaticly its not precise and why we are aiming ? is there a headshot damage ? leg damage or arm damage ? no ! its a messed up system stop defending it. Also templar has an ability called solar flare and its trajectory is curved it goes like a mortar shell what about that !

If you are so against the combat targeting in this game, why did you buy it? I have had no issue with overlapping mobs. You can just hit tab till you get to the one you want before the battle starts. As far as aiming goes im sure they were trying to find a way to get as much of the skyrim experience as possible within the confines of online issues, lag and what not. If they decide to change to the standard hard lock method what do you think will happen to the difficulty? Tactics will be limited to before the fight even starts and will almost ensure victory. Whats the fun in that? Oh and please don't order me around, we are both entitled to our opinions.

i bought this game cos it was promising and i have a right to complaint about this product im a customer. You cant make a game difficult with nonsense. This game already so easy i wish there was a diffculty slider. And its not skyrim its a completly diffrent game
