Now we have an influx of players that we never had before, and a whole new set of management problems comes with them. I really hope ZoS doesn't write us off because of the console release. I'm afraid that if it fails, nothing further will be addressed.

Insightful perspective but all we can do at this juncture is speculate.

Unfortunately I feel like they HAVE been telling us since November that their primary focus is the consoles. Every time we ask them to make this game really work, we get small fixes addressing only a fraction of our needs. and NO real new content.

Very good list. Hard to pick topmost. Bank features win for me because managing them takes alot of my time. Rank-dependent rights and bugfix to bank timeouts please.

One more wish to guilds: Let players to change the order of guilds. I have numerous times deposited to or retrieved from wrong bank because the guild #1 wasn't my main guild. I had to leave and rejoin to get them into right order.

I think all suggestions are really necessary. I recently fell into being an officer of a guild that was formed during beta and is being revived. All I have to say is, I have a whole new level of respect for the guild masters for the guilds I belong to! Without several addons, managing the guild would be a nightmare. And even with the addons, it's still very time consuming... and of course not every addon is set up ideal. These are my person issues.

Guild bank stacking. C'mon, why was this not even a thing to begin with. On top of the amount of time spent not actually playing, and rather managing guild related tasks, one has to make time to Roomba every couple hours as well. Which brings me to...

Guild bank tabs. If you're not having to stop and Roomba, you're having to stop and find a bank to grab an item for a guildie that hasn't achieved bank access yet. Often these items are simple things like food and mats. I'd like to make those available to everyone as a community, and be able to keep things like expensive gear or items for raffles either hidden or inaccessible. Honestly, I'd prefer hidden. I have started to mule items I plan to use for raffles for the simple fact that I feel if a guildie has been seeing it in the bank, free to take, for weeks... it makes it a really lame prize later.

Speaking of raffles. GUILD MAIL. Do we have addons for this? Sure. But wouldn't it be easier if it wasn't a buggy, possibly kick-you-from-the-game-for-spamming-mess? Part of the guild experience is communication. We have to send out notices, reminders, whatever. I mean, ZOS really needs to understand that running a guild is actually a massive job undertaken voluntarily to enrich the world of other players, as well as ourselves. If we're manning a large portion of the community, we should really get the tools and support for it.

Kiosks. More would be super. What would be more super, is to be able to cancel your bid and move it elsewhere. Sometimes one officer bids on accident and you're stuck. Unfortunate :-( I actually think one bid is good... but being able to cancel it at least once is a MUST.

Overall, I find being highly involved with a guild fun and rewarding. But like I stated, it is very time consuming and sometimes can be frustrating when you don't have the things you need to operate at full steam. I'd also like to see the guild page expanded a little bit, so guild officers can include more information. I made a website for our guild just for this purpose... but it would be really neat in game. I want to be able to share links, tips, tricks, addon spotlights, player spotlights, builds that guildies are coming up with- whatever. So a tab just for the whatever would be cool!!

I love every suggestion made by the OP. I wanted to vote for more than one choice. As a guild master I have found a need for everything that was suggested. Honestly if it wasn't for my strong officer corp, including Badarah, (THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Badarah!) I don't know I would be able to handle the 330+ players I have in my guild AND actually play the game I love.

Yes, and the ability to cancel a bid... I truly appreciate the openness with which some bid mistakes have been handled making it easier for guilds to decide what to do for the best of both parties. But the ever growing list of guilds who have gone without a stall for a week, or with an undesirable stall, all because an officer accidentally bid in the wrong place and was stuck, is a shame!

Out of these options, Sunday evenings would be a much better time for bidding to recycle, though I still think some kind of transparency is far more pressing. Last week, I lost a trader because a friend's guild decided to move (after months in the same spot) to the same kiosk I was bidding on, by sheer accident. There's no reason one kiosk should go for 300k while the one next door goes for 50k. But that's an old argument.

Personally, I despise guild mail, and I'm not above summoning daedra to plague ZOS if they make it any easier for trade guilds to spam my inbox. There are days, like every Monday, when I log in to find ten messages plus one item sold. ZOS already made the MOTD much larger, and included a notification whenever it changes. Use that to bother people.

Something does have to be done my guild lost it's bid for a vendor this week and that sucks. What sucks more though there is a guild that DID win it's bid at the same town, they only had 27 items for sale THAT'S RIGHT 27! Who spends 50,000 or more gold to sell 27 items? They weren't even great items, mostly trash that no one is going to buy. They had white mid level enchants you get from drops, WAY overpriced weapons and armor pieces that don't sell well at market value and a couple of recipes. Something is very wrong with this system. Where a guild that has nothing to offer can win a vendor and guild with 100's of item loses.

Having guild mails built into the system would also help the game makers LIMIT how many are sent. 2 mails per guild per day would be plenty for pretty much any guild, but unlike message of the day that most members only bother to even glance at if they're looking for something specific, mails must be at least opened once to be deleted.

So true! I lost a 180,000g bid to a trader with less than 100 items! ( 49 to be exact). My guild is ready to cast me into Oblivion!

It's too late ZOS. Bal-Mart, one of the largest trading guilds in the game recently disbanded and closed their doors. So unless ZOS wakes up and does something about the terrible guild tools and bidding system, it's not a question of if other trading guilds will fold, it's a question of when.

The way I hear it Ball-Mart and Akaviri Imports made a deal to trade the spots in Rawl'kha and Elden Root back and forth between each other. Then Bal-Mart somehow lost the Elden Root bid and didn't survive the lost of the vendor. I'm sure there is more to the story though. I mean Akaviri Imports survived 2 weeks without a vendor it was rough but they survived. There was less people in the guild as people left what they thought was a sinking ship but they are still doing business. I mean disbanding the guild just because you didn't get a vendor seems petty to me. But since I wasn't in the guild I don't really know maybe it was run by petty people.

I'd have to assume there is more to the story. BUT. I think we can all agree that it takes a lot of organization, time, and patience to man a guild of any size- let alone a guild the size of Bal-Mart. (I'm going to take this opportunity to just say, that I always thought that was THE BEST NAME ever, cracked me up every time I saw it). SO taking it full circle, back to the OP's grand list of guild master wishes, I'm sure it *MIGHT* have been easier to keep Bal-Mart together if they had better tools to do so. Sure, it takes a slightly type A player to really keep on top of it all to begin with... but shoot. Throw us a bone.

And, yeah. Bids being lost to guilds with a sprinkle of garbage to sell?? LAME. Our guild store, that has only ever been private, has hundreds and hundreds of actually sell-able wares... and it's so frustrating.

NO ONE WANTS YOUR DAMN STACK OF 3 HICKORY FOR 200 GOLD, MMKAY?!

I keep hearing people mention they want an auction house, but I really love that we are in control of our own economy. It adds a whole separate real-world aspect to the game. I don't want that to change... but I don't want to be beat out by a guild that probably has 22 members and *happens* to have cash flowing out their tookus. Maybe if they set a guild member (or active guild member) requirement for certain areas. Smaller guilds would qualify for the more "starter" guild zones, and move on up, ect ect. Something.

And yeah, Sunday night bids. I'm not getting up at 4:45 on a Monday morning for a 5am video game bid time. As much as I love you all, I have to draw the line somewhere.

Several of the large trading guilds are in communications with one other on a daily. I'm in one of the larger ones. Yes is does take an insane amount of effort in and out of game, to run and maintain large guilds, and usually not enough people being available to help manage them. So you end up with a select few willing to devote all their time and energy to do the tasks that need completing, and they burn out fast.

As for the rumors and speculations about Bal-Mat, there's nothing to speculate. It was time vs. other responsibilities/real-life issues and nothing more. These Guild tools would have vastly improved the chances of Bal-Mart staying intact. Simple as that.

    Badarah wrote: »

This. I think that it's a brilliant idea. Too many times we end up with small guilds who have nothing to offer in their stores, yet they bid insane amounts of gold in prime locations because, somehow they think that it makes them worthy competition. No. Just stop it.

Agreed, and what's more is, it's insulting to assume that we have the time to stay up so late to secure a stall. Just because I work form home, and have the time, doesn't mean that the next guy, who runs his guild, and has an actual job, and real life responsibilites, shouldn't have a fair and reasonable chance at getting a bid in. This system has no balance, and is broken in a lot of ways. You might as well turn it into a free for all player controlled economy, with trading hubs, that have open markets. Where people can list their wares no matter what guild they are in.

I also work from home, and that makes working on guild stuff WAY easier. Trying to do all these projects with a 9-5 outside the home would be much, much harder. Again, I'm pretty new to this guild officer stuff... and just kind of fell into it. So I'm sure some of the more vet officers feel the pain much more than I do. But it would be awesome if we had more tools to keep things organized, and have more time to actually play the game we love. But, back to the point, the bid time is terrible. No matter where you are.

    So many fixings :(

yes yes yes on the mail reply button. this needs to be implemented. it makes everything so much easier and saves time. I also think more kiosks would be great. specifically in a spot like malabal tor in the first city where everything is in close vicinity to each other much like rawl. albeit not as good but would be the second best spot and in a begining zone for access to all.

a guild hall is a much needed addition to the game which will help bring guilds closer together and really feel like they belong to something. also, adding alliance chat would make coordinating easier and much more effective in cyrodil allowing for a more fulfilling and exciting experience in pvp. the current setup makes it hard to coordinate which results in everyone responding to the same threat which increases lag or in zone chat which increases the chance of a spy knowing what the plans are which in turn deters people from typing in zone chat.

There is some truth in that, but there was a lot more to it. It's not entirely my story to tell, but to clear up the rumors here's some background info.

Balmart's GM had no second in command. The effort of maintaining a Rawl guild is something hard to imagine for anyone not doing it. Balmart had been struggling for weeks to keep up with their bids and the stress can eat at a person who deals with it week after week. With no second in command, or even an officer willing to step up and take over some of the weekly burden, Balmart chose to fold, rather than to struggle along. Arrangements were made with other guilds including Elder Scrolls Exchange, Red Nirn Reserve, and Dead Nirn Dealers to refer and place as many Balmart members as possible into other guilds. It happened rather suddenly due to the loss of the bid, but had been under debate prior to that happening.

This current system is extremely stressful to GMs. This is a lot of why we continue to ask the developers for better tools and better systems. Being a GM is enough work, but fighting against the system makes it needlessly stressful.

In ESE I worked extremely hard leaving my boyfriend very lonely recruiting and training a team of officers who could help with the work of running the guild. To sustain a guild in Rawl we need to raise gold not only by taxes, but with weekly raffles and auctions. We have to bid not only what the stall is worth, but also higher than what another guild is likely to scrape together that wants a shot at being in Rawl for a week. It's not that we specifically want to keep other guilds out but GMs feel that they let their members down if we lose our bid. Members get upset since they contribute gold only to have no place to sell. But unless GMs talk to each other and arrange deals which starts all sorts of rumors, then guilds end up surprised and out in the cold stuck every time any other guild wants to try to move up or move around. I have a team of about 10 active officers between our 3 guilds who pull together to share the work of running a guild, however it still feels like having a second full time job. I have a lot of pride in my members who support us and my officers who do so much of the work, and can't even imagine trying to do it alone for long.

Two mails per guild per day, week, month, or year is too much. Players hate them, but they're not about to report their own guild for spamming. Again, update the MOTD if you have something important to say.

And just to be clear, ZOS I *will* leave if tools are added to make guild spam easier for GMs. I don't, I don't, I don't want anyone to be tacking my name on to a mailing list twice a day as proposed above, and I may start filing spam reports on guild mails anyway. I don't like SPAM.

It's too late ZOS. Bal-Mart, one of the largest trading guilds in the game recently disbanded and closed their doors. So unless ZOS wakes up and does something about the terrible guild tools and bidding system, it's not a question of if other trading guilds will fold, it's a question of when.

I lost my patience last fall when I ran an AD trading guild--in the desperation to find someone after being outbid, an officer got confused and thought BID was the same as HIRE, so we were locked into bidding on the same trader for two weeks.

The only reason I started up a new trading guild is I got sick of having to be in trading guilds that:
    1) spam my inbox begging for raffle money
    2) require minimum sales or raffle purchases
    3) harass members for how they price their goods
    4) coordinate with other guilds to lock particular guilds out of cities or kiosks. This last point is always difficult to prove because coordination happens outside the game or game forums, but it's intimidation and harassment nonetheless, and a lot of folks don't want to bother with it.

I recently mentioned in another thread that I decided to commit to ESO+ (I wouldn't play if I didn't sub) for another three months, and I can assure y'all that the harassment I've experienced from other trading guilds and members/officers was one of the greatest reasons I had for leaving (and taking down my addons when I do).

Yeah, and as I mentioned, those communications are a strong reason for leaving ESO. They wouldn't be necessary if bidding was more transparent. Every week that I lose a kiosk, I have to reassure people I'm not mad at them for getting it. Every week I get a kiosk, I have to tell folks "tough cookies, quit whining." The sheer amount of ill will generated by the blind bidding system is corrosive to the community.

Maybe if they set a guild member (or active guild member) requirement for certain areas. Smaller guilds would qualify for the more "starter" guild zones, and move on up, ect ect. Something.

This. I think that it's a brilliant idea. Too many times we end up with small guilds who have nothing to offer in their stores, yet they bid insane amounts of gold in prime locations because, somehow they think that it makes them worthy competition. No. Just stop it.

Nevermind guild leaders and members, it infuriates regular players just shopping around. There's a number of cities I don't bother visiting just because they have too many empty stores.

What good is a plate with nothing on it?
