Yes because i'm all for dueling for the sake of dueling, but only if we have an option to turn it off and keep it out of cities, towns and hubs. Plus keeps. Hell yeah... But im afraid that this would led us to situation where there is just one right build per class, bc its most efective in duels and that would be boring.

Because of the problem you will now encounter with accidentally attacking "innocents" I can see that dueling will unfortunately have to have specified areas. Fighter's Guild and arenas are perfect for this though so I hope we'll see that brought in with this functionality. Support FOR a duel function WITH an auto-decline setting has been really strong since launch. One hopes it's on the list of things to "get around to" after the holy console launch.

You know, there really was no need to be offensive.

Some who play this game do it for the MMO side of things (and I'm assuming the 'pro-duel' players are mostly people who have played many other such games, and miss that feature); some play it because it's an Elder Scrolls game. I am proud to be in the latter group. And I am entitled to enjoy my time playing just as much as you are.

There were no duels in previous ES games. I cannot think of a valid, or lore friendly reason for someone in a city to want to duel my characters - unless they somehow offend? Why would you come up to strangers and challenge them for a fight?

Plus, zone chat is already bad enough with all the lfg for keys, and wts/wtb. Add duelling requests... it gets even worse.

And coming into a thread and commenting without actually reading the suggestions is equally offensive to the participants in the discussion. Virtually all players who support the addition of dueling in ESO agree that there should be a toggle in the game options to block all duel requests. As in, the invited player would never even see the invitation.

Your comment made it seem as if you hadn't even read the posts in this thread. And the lack of knowledge pertaining to this discussion that could have been gleaned from them is indeed a form of ignorance.

There were no duels in previous ES games because they were single-player games. You are comparing apples to oranges.

ESO is an MMORPG. This is not ES:6.

You can hardly be surprised that some players would expect basic features found in almost all MMORPGs to also be present in ESO.

Zone chat is an optional feature, it can be disabled or moved to a hidden tab if it bothers you so much. Although I do fully support user-creatable chat channels which would eliminate that, at least, from your list of concerns.

Probably because there is always a person in each and every online game that allows dueling once the duel is refused they still seem to /whisper and pester you and even after you say no thanks they will harass you. Even if ZOS added a on/off feature there will always be a person that will spam emotes /scared and follow you with with /bucket splash. Not to mention if you do decide to accept a duel and then lose they will most likely do /push-ups and /lol.

I know that isn't something the majority of people would do but I also know that there are those that do those exact things even in arenas or dueling specific areas.

Just go to Cyodill.. oops forgot there are some little carebears who are sceered of the big bad zerg.... and want to chase around level 1s whispering constantly for a "dualll" rather than playing with the big boys.

They will not allow dueling because if they did you would see all the bugs in all your skills and passives that don't match tooltips and wonder which group of chimps did the testing for this game . . . .

Yes! I'd be happy with just arenas spread out across the map to counter lag (since that seems to be a concern).
