Why is it so hard to have text chat as an option? Want to use it, fine type away. Don't want to use it? Settings>Chat>Text> Turn off text chat
So Smurf as you continue to unblock me to see my posts, then go back to hiding. Answer this simple question....since you are the ONLY one arguing against having text chat.
No ZOS marketing bs answers. No comparing MMOs to 5 player party MP console games, no FPS games.
No need for arguing at all....just answer 'Why not have text chat as optional?'

A constant crash report that's your answer? lmao
You that dumb that you don't understand how your ESO client crashing every time you go into town, or go interact with NPCs, wouldn't crush your PC experience? It's still an ongoing issue for me since 1.6.5, so yes...I will move to console.
I play both platforms, and MMOs should have text chat regardless of where they are.
Irony.
Console platform games have to go through a approval process before they are allowed onto console. You won't find Console games crashing because it's a set hardware, no differences. No different drivers, no different hardware, OS is set, there is nothing different from one console to another(Xbox to Xbox).
PC is totally different, many variables.
I hate to say it, but @Argoniawind is right in the sense that on a PC you can diagnose and resolve the issue (in most cases). On a console, you can download the latest update for your hardware/game and that's about it. If it fails, it fails completely.
I was referring to the games themselves. I've mentioned before my career (other thread). I know why things break, I know what code breaks things, I know what the difference is between a 'baseline' system and a 'variable' system.
When I submit an app or game to Xbox, I have to pass many tests that go beyond my own QA. The game passes when it plays through stress tests on console, representing a players experience.
Red ring of Death isn't a games fault, it was the console's problem. You want to know what the root cause was of that issue? The heatsin that covered the CPU, it warped and caused the CPU to to disconnect from the MB connections and the Red ring of death. The fix for this was the quick fix, wrap the Xbox 360 in the towel and let it overheat causing the solder to reconnect the CPU to the MB. The permanent fix, if you didn't fry the CPU already...open the Xbox and use new, longer bolts on the heatsink and tighten it down so the CPU has a firm connection.
On a PC, I have to consider so many variables with the end user, what MOBO, what video card, what memory, how much, what HD, RAID vs SATA vs IDE, what soundcard, what network card....then all the driver versions that go with that. For console, I can go to Target and buy Xbox One, get a developer kit, and know that I have a baseline system to develop on.
So...Since I have text chat in my PC version, and i'm porting it over to Console...I leave text chat in and require a keyboard with a Enter key and code that to listen to that event to initiate chatting on console.
Ok? what are you even talking about?Argoniawind wrote: »And I pointed out that games crash on any platform and the console is not safe, while I prefer playing all games on the consoles, im not oblivious to the fact that games have and will crash on consoles to pc to handhelds.. just a fact!!!Argoniawind wrote: »right sure whatever you say, I have had many games crash on my consoles, oh does the pc get the red ring of death? nah they get the blue screen of death.. It's also a fact that the Sun can cause skin cancer and that you have a better chance of getting killed in a car crash than flying on a commercial airliner. Does that mean you'll never go outside or drive a car? C'mon man...
