Light armor offers a quarter of the base defense of heavy now, that's for both spell resist and physical. Light armor are for magic glass cannon builds now.I recently came back from an 8 month retirement and as far as I remember I used to hold up in battles (in Cyrodiil) quite well against people my own level, VR5. Now everytime that I want to battle I keep getting killed by a single hit from any VR10+. They hit me for 15-22k with a single shot. I used to use an all light armor set but since that happened I equipped a heavy armor, boots and legs (sacrificing my bonuses for light armor set like magicka recovery). I also slotted 3 defense skills (Light armor skill, Heavy Armor skill and Sun Shield) and I'm still getting killed by 1 hit. What happened? Am I doing something wrong? What am I missing?
I have 18k Health (I always use potions) in Cyrodiil all my gear is blue and I always have it repaired to 100% as for Champion points I only have about 8 on each tree mostly on defense buffs.
Once you get that sorted out, you will realize that your class is pretty darn good in pvp.

I think you mean "pretty darn poor in pvp".
OP: Magicka templar in 1.6.5 cant get away with 7/7 light armor. Cant get away with stacking magicka + spell power either. Need to focus on all 3 attributes to stay alive and both types of recovery, due to lack of mobility and escapes. You need to build like a semi-tank more or less, leaving you with sad dps. Not that it actually matters, since our dps skills sucks, are bugged or gives entire groups of enemies free cc immunity (same problem for stamina temps).
My advice, re-roll sorcerer or stamblade, if you want to be more than a heal-bot that occasionally steals killing blows with Jesus Beam. Might see some improvements next major update, but i wouldn't get my hopes up.

Thanks everyone and yeah I think I'm going to create a sorcerer my templar is too weak with attack and defense in Cyrodiil its a little frustrating that I lost most of my magicka recovery among other things when I put on heavy armor pieces.
I'm on the same boat, when I came back I tried Cyrodiil with my v4 (I was doing fine when I left last year), several times I got 2 shot by v14s. I tried different builds with same result and finally I decided to leave pvp until v14.I recently came back from an 8 month retirement and as far as I remember I used to hold up in battles (in Cyrodiil) quite well against people my own level, VR5. What would be the right number for "please don't 1 shoot me"?Giles.floydub17_ESO wrote: »Your Templar is not to weak. Your geared and built completely wrong. 18k health in cyrodiil is asking to be one shot.

You should not be getting 1-shotted with 18k HP. Period.
Reading threads like this reminds me why I tend to hate PvP on video games. Because it always ends up turning into a ridiculous and stupid cat and mouse game of incredibly over-powered offensive bursts.
I was considering giving Cyrodil another shot soon. After reading this - think I'll pass.
A lot has changed with your class in 8 months. It sounds like you just need to spend time relearning the class and gear sets that will work for you now. Once you get that sorted out, you will realize that your class is pretty darn good in pvp.

Your death recaps combines damage over time into one big number, which can be misleading.

Every poll I've seen recently suggests the majority of people consider Templars the absolute worst class in PvP. And it's not even close.
Part of the issue is that Battleleveling does not function for Vet levels at all, currently.I recently came back from an 8 month retirement and as far as I remember I used to hold up in battles (in Cyrodiil) quite well against people my own level, VR5. @ZOS_GinaBruno, @ZOS_JessicaFolsom It may be time to have the Cyrodil adjustment include Champion Points. If people won't scale up to the same level as others with CP, they will continue to be one shotted.
As many have stated previously, this will only get worse as the CP gap widens. Your Console gamers aren't going to take kindly to being one shotted by all those who transferred accounts from PC to Console with over 100 CP.
This is a real issue TODAY, and hasn't even been 2 months from when CP was introduced. Not down the road 1-2 years as @ZOS hoped.
Giles has the right idea.Giles.floydub17_ESO wrote: »cecibergesnrb18_ESO wrote: »I'm on the same boat, when I came back I tried Cyrodiil with my v4 (I was doing fine when I left last year), several times I got 2 shot by v14s. The right number? Much more than 18k. My glass cannon for PVE has much more HP that you have when entering Cyrodiil. How much HP you need really depends on play style and strength of skills to avoid damage.
I could tell you well into the 20k range but you need to look at much more than HP. As I previously mentioned, and others the same, if your playing like you did before and in the same gear as before your doing it all wrong. With that I mean everything. We have all changed gear and adjusted skills we use.
