Coldharbour Zone - Did you know...

... that when you first complete this zone before continuing with the mainquest, you'll get much more help beyond the Citadelle entrance?

You'll meet many people (NPCs) during all quests in Coldharbour which will be there helping you in different situations later on.

The best example is Zur, he'll show up again at the Labyrinth entrance and gives you a light; without him (when you haven't done the according quest before), you'll only see complete darkness and have to just guess where to go next.

Also all the other important NPCs you'll meet during zone quests will show up at some point. They don't deal much damage, but it's really fun to see some familiar faces while being on this important mission. And they're good tanks, just by their presence

I think with 3 of my characters I didn't know this, until I found out with the next when I completed the zone first "just for fun" before continuing with the mainquest beyond the Citadelle.

I have the habit of completing all side-quests before the main quest from other games and past Elder Scrolls titles, and I agree, it was awesome seeing all the people I'd helped return the favor for the final battle.

I'm willing to bet most of us have experience with other RPGs and instinctively do all available sidequests before moving on with the main quest.

It's really an old Elder Scrolls habit of mine: first search for every last nook and cranny on the map (explore ALL the things!), then deal with the main quest, almost as an afterthought. Has been paying off so far in ESO as well...

As for Coldharbour, it's not as if the Groundskeeper is beating you over the head all the time to go out and look for people who might want to lend a hand with giving old M.B. a good thwacking.

But it's a good hint anyway, because we all play differently (which is a good thing, too).

Just to clarify - the 'main quest' mentioned above is the coldharbour zone main quest (the one that ends with preventing the planemeld), not the main quest for the whole game (harborage, prophet, killing molag bal etc.)

Not necessarily. I'm playing RPGs for about a decade now and I'm used to complete certain things first before doing certain others. Though, with about 3 characters I just forgot the rest of the zone and entered the Citadelle as soon as I got the order to do so.

Also, not every player here knows everything about RPGs, I bet there are quite a lot which NEVER played an RPG before, so that's why I've posted this, for the ones who do NOT know. It's nice for you that you know.

What other part could have have meant besides of the Coldharbour zone when I mentioned the Coldharbour zone and the Citadelle?
The main quest ends after defeating Molag Bal.
