Hello @ZOS_MollyH, thanks for your response.
Unfortunately these fixes didn't resolve the problem. As well as the steps @Threemoons wrote. And I did everything "Known issues" thread says except Memtest - my RAM was bought this January, it's brand new, and I've played ESO with it for two months.
I wonder why are the crashes depending on DirectX version. D3D9 lets me play for some time (a short time still) and the D3D11 makes game crash either when loading the location either in seconds after loading finishes. There weren't any problems with games using DirectX 11 before.

Did you try the OpenGL fix?

I did after the very first few crashes on 1.6 patch. OpenGL loads the interface, but doesn't load all the graphic part. There is just a black screen, and I can only walk in plain darkness, seeing "E" button on something from time to time. And in 5 minutes the game crashes.
AMD just released their new beta driver. Was hoping it'd fix this crashing problem, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Now I just seem to freeze, instead of crash...

Hopefully this will fix the song and dance I have to go through to play. As of now, I have to sometimes reboot my machine because it randomly crashes my vid drivers on launch. Or my status bars disappear altogether.
Oh, and I still get the deformed login and cut screens.
Seriously, Zmax, get your act together please.
This seems to be the typical ZOS answer these days... Addons, ISP, graphics drivers.... anything to keep you busy but not solving the issues
I've crashed or froze over 20 times now in the past day. I was only able to send a crash report for like 5 of them, the other times it never popped up or I had to end the process. I wonder how many unreported crashes there are. I'm unsubscribing until this is fixed, cause support is no help.
Just returned to the game after year long break, and I seem to get the black screen crash where I can still hear the game but cant see it. Sent in a ticket and got a canned auto response.

I just wanted to add that the random crashes on my rig with ESO have stopped 100% by changing the Power Management setting for ESO.exe in the Nvidia Control Panel from Adaptive to Prefer Maximum Performance. Not only that, but it also fixes random crashes in other games like Farcry 4.
