Dwemer Motif Made Harder to Farm

General

Due to extensive pillaging, many containers in Mzeneldt (the Dwemer ruins from the Fighters Guild questline) and Avanchnzel (the Dwemer delve located in the Rift) have been ransacked, causing many of them to be emptier than before. We are looking at increasing the number of interactable objects in other Dwemer locations in the future.
I guess this means gold prices will go up and crown sales will increase.

Not really. I have done this zone a couple of times trying for dwemer recipes etc. and simply found it lacking compared to other places. I don't understand all the folks doing this so much. I have had so much more luck in other places that this is yet another null-point nerf IMHO.

Well the thing about Mzeneldt was that it was an instance so there was no competition for the containers. I am not sure why you would take that option from someone who gave up there time to run through it.

As for the complaints regarding this nerf - have you checked the guild stores in-game? There are entire PAGES of 100 dwemer recipes. It isn't like there is a shortage or anything...

Alvanchzel was by far the most containers, the other not so much. You better believe this game has gone full blown crown store kool-aid. Drink up!

Keep your head down and covered more crown store item grind nerfs incoming!

Edit: Don't fret however they will be buffing the other Dwemer ruins containers SOON. I wont be holding my breath.

Was waiting for someone to point that out. But you never know, maybe they'll increase containers in other Dwemer ruins sooner rather than never and it'll be alright; maybe.

This is true but with the more people in the area the more the RNG seems to be effected and the more likely that there will be empty containers. Also the less likely will you be able to get to mobs for a chance to get frames.

Just check every dwemer pot you come across.

I've found a dwemer page in a little camp in Eastmarch where I was searching for a lore book and there were three pots there behind the bed.

Also in DSA during the Dwemer round, there are 3 pots in the instance. We wiped a few times and I kept checking one of the pots before the start and I found a page.

You'll forgive me for not holding my breath on this one.

"We are looking at..." has translated into "Might as well be never" too often for my liking.

As a previous poster pointed out, there are pages of Dwemer motifs in guild stores at the moment. If I was looking for a way to decrease that population of available motif pages (and therefore increase interest in my paid versions) and if I had no shame or moral compunction whatsoever... then I might have been looking into this.

There are a LOT of dwemer ruins. Maybe you aren't going to the correct ones. I never see more than one other person when I farm ruins. I have little to no competition for these things. In fact, I get so many that I give them to my guild. So many on guild venders now that it just isn't worth the wasted space of putting it up for sale.

As for frames? I make it a point to kill everything in the zone. I loot every single container I see. I have the sneak skills to run an entire zone, loot every container, and never get in a single fight and do it all in just a few minutes. But the truth is that killing the mobs increases your chances at scraps/frames. Why would I do one of these delves and NOT kill for frames?

I doubt that's the case. When I was collecting the Dwemer motifs for myself I ran Avanchnzel exactly once per day (don't like to grind) and most times left with a motif. It didn't take very long to complete the collection by using new ones and trading repeated ones with other players.

This dungeon had many many more containers than other Dwemer ruins, so I kind of understand the nerf. But I can't help feeling this was done now because crown store.

Wow funny how at some point in time all the motifs dropped rate were nerfed since the start of the game. Why would this motif be any different. Oh and let's ignore fact that zos also said in same area they were looking at other containers make lootable. But yeah ignore logic and go straight to blaming the crown store cause I'm sure everything else they change some table top crusader will blame the crown store in some way

    You speak of logic.

It clearly follows that 1) Motifs are sold in the crown stores, and then shortly after we have

    2) Farming areas for dwemer motifs are nerfed, which leads logically to

    3) This was intentional decision to have people use the crown store.

This is not a leap of logic. This all follows very well. And it isn't even subtle, which is a little surprising. And they write the nerf in the patch notes as a joke, which is just insulting.

Containers are instanced. The only reason people liked the FG one is it had a lot of containers to check so it felt like it was the most efficient. Personally, this week I've been pulling one page almost per trip from the ruins on Stros M'Kai.

Of course that's not really a good thing, if they are too easy to farm the price will drop.

This is true - I used to farm Mzeneldt not because I thought I'd have less competition for container contents (because there's no such thing as competition for container contents in this game), but because there wasn't anyone farming the mobs in there, so I wasn't getting in anyone's way, and nobody was getting in my way. I also liked to use it to practice my light attack weaving.

To be honest, though, for a while I was doing 1-2 runs through it on the one alt that hadn't completed the quest almost every day that I played, but I haven't done it in months now. Since I've already got all of the Dwemer motif pages, and I was never farming it to sell pages (I gave a couple of the pages I didn't need away for free), my only real reason to go there is to get scrap to refine into frames. I'll probably just finally complete the quest now.

I too ran Avanchnzel once a day and generally found one a day, along with some recipes. It wasn't exactly full of people, maybe a couple of others - often at the correct level for the zone so I guess they weren't farmers. I'd hardly call the place "ransacked".

But what are they really saying here?

"Due to extensive pillaging, many containers in Mzeneldt (the Dwemer ruins from the Fighters Guild questline) and Avanchnzel (the Dwemer delve located in the Rift) have been ransacked, causing many of them to be emptier than before."

    That's simply a statement of a problem...

"We are looking at increasing the number of interactable objects in other Dwemer locations in the future."

That's simply a statement of intent.

What is this doing in the Patch Notes if it doesn't describe an actual change brought about in 2.0.6?

It's hardly surprising that it just fuels the conspiracy theory: "emptier than before" = nerfed

Yeah so explain all the other motifs having the drop rate nerfed and the prices sky rocket for awhile from all those trying to take advantage of people being scared of not getting rare motif before even a crown store was around? People complained that the rare motifs were too easy to farm so it got nerfed twice I believe waaaaaaaaaaay before there was a crown store. You chicken little types need get a hold of yourselves lol some paranoid conspiracy theorist playing this game

The thing is, though, I don't mind them changing the game if they want. It's their game. If they break it, it's their fault.

What I really, really don't like is when they write it up like it's someone else's fault. Take some ownership of your choices instead of hiding them behind raw, undeveloped story ideas.
