There is no practical or reasonable justification in .5% progress towards a level in any RPG of any kind for a quest that takes 5-10 minutes to do.
If you do everything in each zone (which includes killing the mobs you come across as you're questing and exploring), you should go up about 1 vet level per zone. I've got an AD Templar who I've played through the Silver zones up to about 2/3 of the way through Shadowfen, and he's VR5, without grinding. I've got a DC Dragonknight who I've played through the Silver zones up to about 1/2 of the way through Malabal Tor, and he's VR6, without grinding.
So making 100 threads about this is an acceptable way to "obligate/shame" a reply from zos? I wish they'd keep vet levels, and despite them taking a long time to complete, I'm ok with them, you don't see me making 100 threads about it.
They said they're going to remove vet ranks, once they've worked out the details and finished with console release. I really don't see the point in beating this topic to death and I don't see what else zos could say about it. If they came out and said, "Yes we are aware it is a long and slow process, they will be gone when we get around to it." Would that satisfy you?
"Yes we are aware it is a long and slow process, they will be gone when we get around to it. In the mean time, since this will take many months, we're making it a high priority to fix the XP rewards for things that aren't scaled correctly to give the XP they should be. We are also going to fix dolmens so they give completion XP. If we cannot accomplish this quickly enough, we will be lowering the XP requirement for each veteran rank so it will be in line with what it was for the first 9 months of the game's life." THIS would satisfy me.
This is the best example of "be careful what you wish for" that I've seen in a while.
Can someone remind me of the original amount of VP required to go from V13 to V14? I was only V6 when they changed the requirement to 1 million XP per level, but I remember V6 to V7 was something like 4 million VP?
I am genuinely curious to see what her "dig into this a little more" reveals.@Ley, yes, thank you for the list. I had started putting something together for our guild feedback session and then poof, done for me. I've removed 2 or 3 that didn't seem to have activity since 1.6, and added in a few more.
I'm glad there's finally acknowledgement, but yes, fell short of expectations because it sounded like they aren't even aware that there are problems with the XP itself. Seems like some of those threads may have been skimmed/glossed over out of assumption they were all about vet rank removal, and not about how there's zero reason to have them be more painful than they were at launch while we wait months for them to actually be removed.

yes ok , but even that you,ll have about 2-4 levels to do in craglorn, and its horrible trying to get a group and when you do the xp is pityfull.
and even at that once youve done cadwells gold 2 or 3 times it,s sooooooo boring doing those mundane run and fetch quests over and over..
they need to make it quicker , at the very least some way to make it much quicker if you have already one character who's completed it all.
The quests that complete an objective (the ones that turn something on the map a solid colour when the quest is completed) are around 12-15K XP.shane.roberts25b14_ESO wrote: »I'm not sure exactly which quests you're doing, but every vet quest I have done has given at least 5k xp, and most give around 15k... maybe a bug?
You're seeing the CP gain, not the XP gain. Monitor your next quest turn in via your character's actual xp number.

There does seem to be a lack of good ways to gain XP and CP progression past the Gold zones, it's true.yes ok , but even that you,ll have about 2-4 levels to do in craglorn, and its horrible trying to get a group and when you do the xp is pityfull.

I turned v1 and I'm doing the quests in stonefell and 3/10 quests give 4-8k xp at max and all the rest give 499 xp... How am I supposed to level off of this? This is getting ridiculous, I don't even know if I should continue to play this game. Idk why anyone would want to play this only getting 499 xp per quest..Why is this game so bad with xp? this is the slowest leveling MMO I've ever played. 1million xp to level at v1 and I'm getting 499 xp per quest how does anyone even get to v14 and why would anyone continue to try and level up at 499 xp per quest? This game has been nothing but *** XP since lvl 12 (dungeons only gave me 40 xp per mob kill since I started doing them.) Fix your game zenimax Every single quest at v1 should give atleast 10k XP no matter what. This game is broken at vet level..

I hoped that after the 5th one or so ZOS would feel obligated/shamed to reply, but alas, they think it's better to just ignore the problem and hope we stay quiet long enough for console to be released and vet levels to finish being removed in the (?) fall.
They could just be ignoring it for the moment because there's more important topics to reply to, if they are going to be removing vet levels eventually, I wouldn't see the point in replying to topics like these. Just let the community do the work for them in the mean time.
Veteran leveling was pretty fast but I was aoe grinding mobs. Questing was just terribly slow, run here do this.. oh yeah don't forget this. Here is 3k xp out of the million you need. The quest XP is just completely jacked up.
Maybe you're right, I thought the whole plan with the release of the Champion System was to throw away Veteran Ranks, but I guess something changed. We'll just have to see what happens in the next few months.Sallington wrote: »Vet levels aren't going anywhere. And they are most likely worrying more about getting the XP boost potions ready for sale rather than worrying about how the community feels about the cumbersome leveling process.

Welcome to the New grind..
There are still places you can level a Veteran character pretty fast but we can't tell you here or it will get Nerfed just like the rest of them have been..
Stop complaining. The game is totally pointless after the Molag Bal incident which is about VR1. No working in game economy.. no enjoyable reason to do Cadwell's Silver and Gold, PVP becoming a total waste of time. The only decent reason to PVP is if you have good friends in a guild. This is especially as 'Boring' elf and it's mates have turned PVP into a 'cheat' fest. Might as well make it pay to win ZoS...you know you want to do it. It must be very tempting to put Champion points in the Crown store. No different IMO from selling XP gain potions which are coming soon or XP bonus if you currently pay on a monthly basis.
