For a book?????
Not that gives me nuts since i have all the motifs in 2 different carachters but is like insane.... Today it has come out Gta 5 and it cost rougly 4500 crowns... A full game!
Who in oblivion decide the prices? Since is not a gamebraking or a p2w must have it can cost 1000 crowns imho.

I agree, $50 for a motif is way too high.

But then again, if you check those illegal gold sites that were spamming for months when the game started, that's about what they sold for back then! XD

the price reflects the in game rarity of actually finding it. I like the price where it is cause it is no more enticing to me than the 50-100k gold in game for it. That tells me it's staying about even and that's what it should do
There is nothing here of interest to any nations; as a matter of fact, there is nothing here but people.

They are priced that way to minimize its impact on the in-game motif market and prevent players from complaining about how Zeni destroyed the economy. Now only those that REALLY want it will get it with little effect on the prices of in-game motifs.

its because we have players like this guy over here, that the team at ZOS is getting bolder and bolder at their attempts to exploit us gamers

How will you explain millions STILL paying sub, buying expansions and rare or limited mounts/pets etc in WoW?
ESO is not dying ...we've got just too many people complaining about prices bcs they want everything for free.
That's the only reason why F2P system in ESO was a bad idea.
I've been playing WoW for ages ...no one was ever complaining about any prices.
You love the game? PAY! If you don't want to pay ...sorry and bye
Should be same with ESO. Paying customers at least don't complain.
There are so many gamers playing their beloved battlefields, cod ...you name it. They spend a lot of cash on virtual items.

I wouldn't be the one to use maybes in this argument, nor would I be the one to bring up gold sellers and use them to prove a point. You cannot equate that to anything ZOS does in this game, because in the end of all things, it's illegal.

I can earn up to 20k gold in game in one hour game-play.

Kind of even up for me one way or another to buy the motif.

So? I didn't make all the gold I made over night.

I've been here since early access day 1, and beta way back before that. I don't care how long it takes a newbie to earn money, it shouldn't be an easy road for someone brand new.

It would be cheaper to just buy the imperial edition and create an alt since each race can craft their own armor. At least you get a 1 gold horse with it.

I've been playing pre-release and have never found an imperial motif.
  • carlos.trevisan.contatonrb19_ESO
How much costs the Imperial edition (bought mine at launch, dunno how much i did pay)??
Because with imperial edition you have:
-imperial motiff to ALL characters (since we can right click and change the look of item)
    -a free horse
    -a new race
I guess it will be cheaper just buy the imperial edition if you think on these details....

Dwemer is a deal at 5000 Crowns. If you can afford it, buy now before they change it.

350 Crowns per page compiled into the rarest item in the game and usable immediately.

    Wow.

Like 2500 crowns a half than the motif and like you have said the imp edition contains a horse a pet the rings of maara the possibility to play as an imperial and the motif... For all the carachters.

    Just wow...

Question! Are all the mmos btp or like, this hig with the prices?

I think most people who pay for these motifs sell armor to people. If you right click gear and turn it to imperial look it becomes bound and you cannot trade it.

guys you didn't get it right. Personally, for stuff in game which i can get in game I don't spend bucks. I will always farm one way or another. I can spend a day and earn enough in game money to buy complete dwemer motif but for some people to earn the same amount of money will take weeks if not months. It might be more efficient for them simply to buy it.

I don't like the fact that motifs are for bucks but it has happened and dome people will benefit from it.

Given how concerned many are about motifs being sold in the crown store, I think $50 is a good price. A crazy price for most so they continue to buy it with gold. The kind of people willing to pay that much real money are clearly people who value their in game gold too much to spend it and therefore would never have bought the motif via gold, and so the farming of motifs remains profitable as the balance has not shifted.

You want to know something ironic? People were throwing fits about the subscription price but people will roll belly up and pay that money for the 5k motifs lmao.

"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

The prices are high for a reason. The lower the price the more potential harm this will cause to the in-game economy. a $40 price tag on an Imperial or Dwemer motif will keep most people away. Except for the so-called "whales" who will drop thousands and dollars on a game each month if given the chance.

Obviously they're going to pay with in-game gold instead, that doesn't prevent them from criticizing the prices regardless.

    I cannot agree more!
Now that the game is tecnically "free" (no sub) a mount cost you 2-3 months of subscription and a book 4 months... i cant understand people complaining the previous model.

Dont get me wrong i still think 50€ is too much but i like how 1 book sold to 1 player give free acces to the game at 4 other players.
This model can make the game live longer but you simply (imho) cannot sell a 20 lines of a code at the same price across the word

Some people get 50€ /h and someone gets 50/€ a day and is not referred to the job type but simply in europe we get half of the money someone gets in the us ( at least here in italy) i stop here i know the rules....
