XP potion is different. It helps you get to the end faster. Gear IS the end. And part of the value of gear is how rare it is and how hard it is to get.
This isn't a MOBA where everyone starts from the same point each matchup. It is an MMO where you develop a character and you use advantages competitively. People grind a lot for gear because they want a particular build for competitive gameplay. Sure, you can make a game without that mechanism, but that is not this game.
I don't think the game should try to appease those who want to have everything.

Hey person, play however you want. Just saying, they will Never sell functional armor in the crown store. It's all cosmetic. They may release costumes, but never armor. If pvp is your endgame, you want PVP gear anyway, not PVE gear.

LOL..ya there is very little difference in pvp and pve gear. People use the pvp gear in pve. You go for the set bonuses. And for you to say NEVER see in in store. Ok..people said the same thing months ago about b2P and I am now laughing.

So you want to be special and get things for real money? That's your play style? Might be the wrong game for you, they've already stated they're not going to be implementing the sale of gear outside of cosmetics and convenience. Never end game items.

I am not buying the never part. You wont convince me. You know how much money they would make. It will happen eventually.
Also, if you think spending money to buy items makes me special...then yes to answer your question. Just the same I would buy the exp potions to save me time I would buy armor to save me time.
Hi All,
One nice thing which would be good to have in crown store - sell all end game pvp/pve sets for crowns. It could be bind on pickup, I don't mind, but it will save me a lot of time of unpleasant activity. If I don't like PVP/PVE group stuff, I can buy exactly same set in store. It is not play to win (for those who will yell about that) because this set will be exact copy of what you can get in the game. It will just give me a convenience to play in a way I like with best sets available in game.
I would buy Desert Rose for example, right away. Perhaps some others too.

They will sell old gear sets in the crown store, it was talked about in the guild conference. (gear sets that are 2 "seasons" old)

It would be, no doubt. But the backlash for "pay2win" would be a pr nightmare. I would bet we won't see this.
PvP is already ignored enough as it is, now you want to be able to get PvP sets without PvPing?
no. I would have sympathized with you if you were complaining about the gigantic grind for vigor,(even then i still would not have supported making it purchasable in the crown store) but for PvP armor/weapon sets; no.
do you have any idea how infuriating it would be, for a player newer to PvP than me, to have all of that crap just by buying it with real life cash, while I, someone who has PvPed since the dark ages of hopesfire, still does not even have vigor?:(
it would be utterly unfair. If i get banned due to my tone, fine;
if you want PvP sets, then PvP and earn them.

Have to agree matey, have to agree.
Now I have no problem with new solo content that is challenging(the game USED to be challenging in fact, now only vet dungeons and trials are challenging. PvP is too but im talking PvE here) and getting unique sets via solo ocntent;; but DO NOT MAKE IT PURCHASABLE IN THE CROWN STORE. If that happens, THE GAME WILL DIE.
Play the game and actually earn the gear:)

Like I said, this is not DOTA where everyone starts each match on equal footing. The game is designed where you develop your character. It requires effort and time. If you just want to buy character development, play a mobile game. Gear is an end game differentiator and the game is designed to reward players who put in the effort in-game to gain gear. This is an RPG where characters grow in power through gameplay, not through spending real world money.DaveMoeDee wrote: »I agree with the OP. I would like this option to save myself time.
