Idea for Crown store - sell for crowns end game PVE/PVP sets

Hi All,

One nice thing which would be good to have in crown store - sell all end game pvp/pve sets for crowns. It could be bind on pickup, I don't mind, but it will save me a lot of time of unpleasant activity. If I don't like PVP/PVE group stuff, I can buy exactly same set in store. It is not play to win (for those who will yell about that) because this set will be exact copy of what you can get in the game. It will just give me a convenience to play in a way I like with best sets available in game.
I would buy Desert Rose for example, right away. Perhaps some others too.

Too bad. This isn't a solo game. I'm not opposed to having different endgame sets available to drop for some solo endgame content, but PVP sets are rewards for doing PVP, and group content-dropped sets are rewards for doing that group content. If you don't want to put the effort in to those types of content, then you don't get the rewards for them, and that's fine. I don't PVP so I don't get to get any of the PVP rewards or skills, and I'm fine with that. Why should you be entitled to get everything if you're not willing to put in the effort to earn it?

Ok, let's make solo content and reward for it - I don't mind.

It is kinda pay to win because you are gaining a sustantial advantage by paying for it. It would be one thing if it was common armor that essentially most people can attain with a decent amount of game time, but this is end game armor sets--sets which only a fraction of the population can achieve by playing through difficult content.

Well, I disagree. person in the group has an advantage wrt solo player because there is NO SOLO content with similar sets. If/when they will give us Murkmire with similar sets - that would be fine. Until then, this is just a even field thing.

Well said. I have no problem with common weapons and armour being sold in the Crown Store - the ones that drop from random mobs. Sets that you really have to work hard to earn, though, should never be sold for cash.

None of the solo stuff in this game requires these sets. The group stuff does. But as you don't like grouping I guess that's not a problem, you don't need the sets you'll never earn.

It's an mmo for crying out loud, ofc the best gear drops come from challenging group content.

Yep, would be good, but as I see it - we will have end game sets in store sooner than they will release solo end game content :) Will see.

I disagree on the idea of it being sold in the crown store. Crown store is for cosmetics, fun stuff. You want gear, you gotta earn that by either playing the content or paying someone who has played the content tons of gold at the guild store. If you put things like that in the Crown Store it creates a big problem. There must be some incentive to actually play the game. This is a buy to play system, not a pay to win system.

Besides, what do you need that end game gear for if you aren't doing endgame? Anything solo is way too cake to need that gear.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for new solo content. Matter of fact I am all for new group content (even though I don't play it) and I am all for new PVP content (even though I don't pvp). Choices, choices for everyone all around is good and will keep this game living for a long time. ZOS just needs to pull its head outta its arse, and fast.

But to put things like this in the crown store is not the answer.

What does the OP think qualifies as 'pay to win' if making the best gear sets available to buy for cash is not p2w? Does the crown store need a "potion of automatic win" before it is p2w?

Based on that OP logic, being able to buy a VR14 character with whatever gear you want, max skill points, max in every skill, max alliance rank, and 3600 CP would not be pay to win, because it is no better than what you could do through playing.

I completely agree with one of your posts. There should be challenging end-game solo-only content that offers comparable items to those found in group content. This should be earned not bought IMO though.

MMO's have changed, and the option to play solo is a growing part of the genre because more and more people want to play that way. The fact that you can play a large part of ESO solo is proof of this.

I'd like to see a restructuring of LOOT in general in ESO, but that's not relevant in this thread.

I agree with the OP. I would like this option to save myself time. I should have this option as it hurts no one else. It only helps you get to end game and save time. It is no different than the exp potion which I will be using. It only helps you get somewhere that everyone else can still attain. No harm done. Just because I would buy gear off the store doesnt mean you cant still play and get it so I really have no advantage over you. Just like the exp potion it only helps me get to where I want faster...you can catch up as you see fit.

XP potion is different. It helps you get to the end faster. Gear IS the end. And part of the value of gear is how rare it is and how hard it is to get.

This isn't a MOBA where everyone starts from the same point each matchup. It is an MMO where you develop a character and you use advantages competitively. People grind a lot for gear because they want a particular build for competitive gameplay. Sure, you can make a game without that mechanism, but that is not this game.

I don't think the game should try to appease those who want to have everything.
