Should Skyshards be shared on new characters?

I made a new character to try out another class in PvP but the biggest thing that pushed me away was how hard I worked for skyshards and how much work I would have to put in just to get into Cyrodiil and keep up with other players.

I think it should be shared to characters on the same account based on faction. (For traitors and spies)

I do not feel the same way about lorebooks due to it leveling the mage guild and people abusing meteor.
And it would not make as big a difference as champion points do to new players.

How many points do you need?
Most combat only builds I see and make, only use like 150 shards, and you get that just by leveling.

Only 150? lol that takes a lot of time. Time PvPers don't want to spend in PvE.

No. I do not think they should be shared across characters.

You guys want to add why? What reason is there to not have this? It is a huge time killer.

They are not that hard to find. You do have to play the game to level anyways. So there is no reason to make them account wide.

They will be hard to find for people on the console.

Will they? There are several sites out there that show detailed maps on their locations. The one I use is:
    http://teso.mmorpg-life.com/skyshards/

There was another one I had bookmarked that doesn't seem to be there anymore. I'm sure there are loads of other online maps.

Out of curiosity what do you think about CP being shared access all characters?

I don't have an opinion on that. However, I do think characters should be able to earn CP starting at level 1.

So no opinion on all the character upgrades you get from one thing but a definite no on another ok.

So why should champion points be shared to characters but not skyshards?

That question is not relevant to the position I have taken. Find someone who cares to argue that with.

    It's completely relevant.

No, but some achievements should be cumulative across characters -- not just the dyes.

I think champion points should be because it allows you to theoretically have all of your post 50 characters at the same strength when VR levels are removed. If you find you enjoy playing another character more, then you are relatively the same strength and nothing is lost for trying one out.

Skyshards, Alliance Rank, and Achievements are all measures of progression for an individual character and I personally prefer to recognize other characters (and be recognized) by individual character achievements. Every reward should not be for playing the game in general and I feel some rewards should be character specific.

Well considering you can't use skill points until your skills unless you level up your skills, it make all that a bit moot.

The champion point system is completely different from the skyshard system.

One earns points by doing just about anything that earns XP after level 50. The skyshards are tokens you actually have to go out and collect.

I say no to making skyshards shared across all characters, as the skyshards are also integrated into the main storyline. The starter quest introduces them as a byproduct of the planemeld. Unless you're really asking if you can just skip having to play to level 50 again?

It would just be a token click, in the quest you wouldn't actually get a skyshard.

Like I already said you can't spend the skill points you get from skyshards until you go out and level the skill. So you would still have to level up.

The only diffrence would be I can focus on lvling and not have to do the same detours again and again. Hell I would even do the same with lore books.

Does no one feel the value in working towards something any more? This sense of entitlement (give me everything in game because I got through it on one character) crap has to go.

If you want two characters with every skyshard, achievement, whatever then do it. Stop asking for everything handed to you. It cheapens it for everyone else.

I love playing alts I truly do. Collect R every single thing and go to every nook and cranny once yeah because it's fun.

Second time it's ok don't really mind

Third time oh look it's that tree with a skyshard under it again

Forth time look at all these wonderful places I have seen time and time again

Fith time meh cba to much hassle to do the same drawn out thing over and over and over and over again.

Making alts lets me try new things and see new stuff. Having to take out time to do things that slow my leveling down by making me do the exact same thing repeatedly. Makes seeing the new stuff less bearable.

    NO!

I really don't get the appeal of skipping the game content to just run a handful of vet dungeons over and over or move in stop motion to the sound of falling meteors.

1-50 is essentially a single player game with co-op kinda like farcry 4

Go play farcry 4 8 times collecting every single collectable see how far you get before you say sod this.

Looking at my save game history I played at least 8 150+ hours characters through Skyrim plus half a dozen through the DA & ME games - one of the great values of a game with so much content is that you can play it through m,multiple times in various ways.

That's my point you can't in eso.

You can make new classes but the quests are all the same the shards are all in the same place and so are the books. You do exactly the same thing over and over again there's no variation when it comes from going from 1-50.

In the games you mention you have multiple paths to get to the end. As for skyrim you can spend 150+ on one play through.
