Crystal Fragments cast time

    I started using light staff attacks during the animation and it works a Ton faster. Like 2x faster easily.

    I tested this ability hard casting crystal frags and I can spam it at 1.3 second intervals. The tooltip has a cast time of 1
    V14 Sorc / V14 Templar / V14 Dk / V5 NB

    Good luck on hearing anything at this point. It does need to be fixed it is way over there so called 1 second.

    Try to use wrecking blow and crystal frags at the same time and stand right next to your target, wrecking blow hits way before crystal does, and the cast time is 1 sec for both.

    So what? Sorc is the strongest class in pvp, 1s - 1.5s whatever.. As sorc mostly u use only a proced crystal..

    I am sorc myself, and it's enough, seriously, so much Qq.. At the begining i was also annoyed that they increased clannfear cast time, but so what.. after playing on live, definitly i am sure, that sorc is the srongest class in 1.6 (2.0) at least in pvp..

    there is a.lot of stupid in this topic..

    cast times outline how long it takes to cast. from button push to when the attack can actually deal damage.

    on any projectile attack, the cast time is more or less done the moment the projectile is launched. at this point most cast time ability can be cast again, allowing you to fire them off each second if that is their cast time.

    Travel time is completely different on projectile attacks. and Fragments is actually pretty quick on that front... faster than snipe actually... the difference is that Shard is a big and obvious incoming hit, making it easier to dodge when compared to snipe, where the projectile is small and arcs out of the typical view of players.

    in PvP, those Fragments procs that hit for crazy damage? thats because of the Damage buff on those procs. and with the cost reduction its basically a free spike hit, one of the few in the game meaning it gets a lot of attention. However, there are plenty of harder hitting abilitys. Dark Flare for instance will with a similar build hit harder on normal casts, and always harder when cast repeatedly. And thats 100% fine.

    the real problem is the fact that one of the morphs of the skill is effectively pointless atm, as it holds no real advantage over its counterpart in most situations. Crystal Blast does need a (very slight) buff, at least on the damage or the cast time, to make it a real choice. Ideally Blast should be doing better base damage, so its stronger outside of Fragments procs to give a choice vs Direct power, or situational Burst
    I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

    Reduced the cast time on all ranks and morphs to 1 second from 1.3 seconds.

    This is never 1 second, it's not even 1.3 seconds. I timed the cast time on the pts and now on live and i always get 1.6-1.7 seconds. And it also feels way longer than 1 second.

    Can you guys please check and confirm this?

    How about, leave it alone? It needs a cast time. I was hit with a 13k+ dmg crystal shard in PvP several times from different ppl. If their gonna reduce the casting time then I want Dragon scales to deflect unlimited projectiles again, and standard of might returned to it's 1.5 state along with a multitude of other things DKS got nerfed. Sorcs just want to be the de facto OP class as usual, always complaining that there under powered and so vulnerable. What a joke.......GET REAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!@!

    You are missing the point. This post ist not about strength in any way. But you probably didn't realize that.

    It was stated in the patch notes that the cast time was reduced, when in fact it was not reduced and instead seems longer now. It was not my idea to reduce the cast time, but if it's in the patch notes, i want it. It's a bug and i want it fixed. Nobody is qq'ing but you.

    This is due to a combination of factors, Entropy procs might of the guild passive increasing damage by 20%, the crystal frags procs increases damage by 20% and critical hit does 1.5x damage. This does up to 14k damage on enemies with low spell resist IF they dont block. Normal crystal frags procs hit for 6-8k depending on the enemies spell resist if they dont block, so thats not high at all.

    Have you noticed all of the other posts on bugged abilities waiting for any feedback? Yes havent recieved a peep.

    If you look at the trend of ZOS, if they dont say anything, its either working as intended or not bugged. If only we could get Dev feedback....oh wait....that would be crazy, guess we just have to wait for anything to be passed down the whisper train, from Dev, to dev, to dev, to moderator, then translated, then wrapped in a magic cloth, polished to a nice shine, and posted with vague missing info.

    It's the same as Snipe. The induction (cast) times seem very random with each shot. If you fire them consecutively, you will see what i mean. Think they can safely remove the cast time from description and just put instead "lag=cast time, range 1s-2min".

    I'm sure ZOS will blame connection delay in the reasoning for the randomness of people's results in testing. Problem with that is instant cast spells can be weaved and pretty much negates connection affecting its performance, so spells with a cast time will always be behind.

    The post deals with the cast time based on what the tool tip and patch notes said. The notes said the time is 1 second. That is clearly not the case. That being said, it needs to either be adjusted to 1 second or have the tool tip display the correct casting time. The issue is that it seems to vary between 1.5 seconds to 3 seconds. I think some of this has to do with the starting and ending of the individual timers used. Either way it's clearly not accurate. nobody here is complaining that Sorcerers are under powered in any fashion. We are simply disputing the tool tip/patch note accuracy for a specific skill.

    You would have known this if you read through the posts instead of trolling something that clearly has nothing to do with your class for the sake of trolling. Have a sweet-roll and relax. :o

    There seems to be another bug with the instant proc playing the sound, but no crystal effects appear around your wrists. Possibly tied to the maximum particle systems slider.

    I've done tests and recorded it. Looking frame-by-frame, cast time seems to vary from 1.2s to 1.5s.
    Start point - little white bubbles appears, end point - shard in hands before launch.
    It takes 1.9sec from cast starts to target hit at 20m+ distance and almost 1.6s from cast to target hit in melee distance.
    Test subject - Strangler, carnervous plant in Malabal Tor.

    its pretty clearly not exactly 1s, but its much closer than some of you seem to think to cast.

    I main a DK and have never ever had any problems with this ability. Not only can it be reflected back at the caster, but when blocked it barely even touches my health. I could stand still and just hold block while the sorc spams Fragments and never die.

    Reduce the cast time! This is the only single-target, proper damage skill a magicka sorc without a destro staff has.
