prices often remain the same, there is nearly no compettion and stuff piles up ; i'm not sure if someone really buys things...
fact is that if listings are 30 days long, there is certainly a trend to leave things and take care of things only one month after,
there is no real fluctuation of money and merchandise...
in swtor (again, sorry, but one must learn from other parts too
, well, in swtor listings last 2 days only and i personally did not like to put things in the gtn market (central market) for sale again after 2 days; that's why i tried to beat prices , when i really wanted to get rid of things, because it's a game and i did not want to have too much money ingame...
Cheers,

Now I can see an option, chosen by the seller, to have the sale cancel if it does not move after a certain amount of time, but you still lose out on the listing fee. (it's taken from your gold at listing, not when it's sold in case you were wondering why the money you get seems like it's higher than it should be)
You can already do this manually with that exact consequence by looking at your listings tab in the guild store.
The current 30 day option gives sellers the option to cancel and relist something at a lower price at any time that's convenient if they feel it is not selling fast enough. The proposed option of two day listings would just clog up mailboxes with expired items and force people who don't want to spend all of their limited game time playing merchant to do exactly that in order to sell their things. Or not list items at all because it's too much of a hassle.
If the issue is that you don't like the turnover as a buyer on the guild stores you are shopping in, try some different guild stores. Top guild stores often have sales quotas (I just got kicked from one for having a busy week and not meeting mine for the week) and sellers have a lot of incentive to turn over items faster if they want to stay in those guilds.
