Maintenance for the week of April 6:
• [COMPLETE] ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – April 8, 9:00AM EDT (13:00 UTC) - 6:00PM EDT (22:00 UTC)

suggestion, please shorten the duration of listings rather drastically for more fluctuation

prices often remain the same, there is nearly no compettion and stuff piles up ; i'm not sure if someone really buys things...
fact is that if listings are 30 days long, there is certainly a trend to leave things and take care of things only one month after,
there is no real fluctuation of money and merchandise...

in swtor (again :) , sorry, but one must learn from other parts too :), well, in swtor listings last 2 days only and i personally did not like to put things in the gtn market (central market) for sale again after 2 days; that's why i tried to beat prices , when i really wanted to get rid of things, because it's a game and i did not want to have too much money ingame...

I've seen a lot of fluctuation recently, especially in recipes and motifs. If you cut your prices below recent sales, your listings will decrease in duration naturally.

    People definitely buy things.

Some things don't sell and they get returned to the seller and they can choose what they want to do about it.

Price fluctuation definitely exists, I've seen a lot of stuff go down in price, then up again when something changed, then down again when things changed again.

If listings were only 2 days, it would take an enormous amount of time to keep your guild store slots stocked up. Things are ok the way they are. If you find that you are not selling something, you can always cancel the listing and relist for a different price. No need to wait for the 30 days.

You have two ways to approach Guild Kiosks, as a Wholesaler or a Retailer. Wholesalers list items for less than the going rate to get the quickest sale. Sometimes normal buyers grab those, but mostly it's people who are going to turn around and flip it for a higher price, close to the going rate. There are people who play this game just for trade. I am glad for that myself, it makes for an active economy.

Retailers set the highest price they think they can get and wait for it. I have had Daedric Motifs sit in the Guild Store for 29 days before they sell, but I am not lowering the price on those for a quick sale. I have had Dropped set pieces take 20 to 25 days to sell, not because they were priced high, but the person who needs that exact piece may not come around that often.

So, price to wait or price to sell, it's up to you. But to reduce the limit to less than 30 days is not the answer. Reason, I don't want to lose the listing fee in just a week or two, especially on a 40,000 gold Motif.

Now I can see an option, chosen by the seller, to have the sale cancel if it does not move after a certain amount of time, but you still lose out on the listing fee. (it's taken from your gold at listing, not when it's sold in case you were wondering why the money you get seems like it's higher than it should be)
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

You can already do this manually with that exact consequence by looking at your listings tab in the guild store.

I know, but I list and forget about it until the Exp email comes along.......

The current 30 day option gives sellers the option to cancel and relist something at a lower price at any time that's convenient if they feel it is not selling fast enough. The proposed option of two day listings would just clog up mailboxes with expired items and force people who don't want to spend all of their limited game time playing merchant to do exactly that in order to sell their things. Or not list items at all because it's too much of a hassle.

If the issue is that you don't like the turnover as a buyer on the guild stores you are shopping in, try some different guild stores. Top guild stores often have sales quotas (I just got kicked from one for having a busy week and not meeting mine for the week) and sellers have a lot of incentive to turn over items faster if they want to stay in those guilds.

Pretty much. I sell stuff I have extras of at what I believe to be reasonable prices because someone out there may have a better use for them. But make it a hassle and I will just vendor the stuff.

Depending on how short listings become, then listing fees should be lowered.

Just about everything sells. I wanted to test things out, so I listed a whole bunch of just junk foods and drinks, and to my surprise, quite a lot of them have sold. Sure I don't ask for much at all, but it does sell.

I like the 30 day limit, I just want more slots to be able to sell in. Had to join another merchant guild, because I was full on listings in the first one.
