    I like getting faceraped by 24k+ damage fire ballistas when fire resist glyphs are still broken. Woot! I guess I'll just sit on my siege from now on, bored out of my mind, and watch as ESO PvP dies a slow, lag-filled death.

    Siege is everywhere. If you setup siege in a field battle, be prepared to be focused down!

    I may be in the minority, but I see this as a good thing.

    I see actual siege bubbles being used for the first time in a long time. This is a good thing.

    There have been other things being discussed for the guards regarding their ability ranges and upgrades. It was a known factor that the guards were going to be significantly weaker compared to the Siege damage changes going in. The guards are currently intended to be a deterrent for players without siege weaponry but if you do have a weapon, have at it.

    In the overall scheme of things with the current focus on spreading people out as Paul mentioned, if more players can take resources requiring less players to do so with the aid of siege weaponry than could before, this can encourage players to do so.

    All that being said, we are looking at the server performance and gameplay experience after these changes and will adjust them if needed =)

    This update has made pvp fun for many again . PvE should never have been more important the pvp in the cyrodiil area anyways . Great work , keep it up .

    Why do people here say that taking resources are pve? We take it with a group... We wait till a zerg comes and it will be great pvp :D

    In the overall scheme of things with the current focus on spreading people out as Paul mentioned, if more players can take resources requiring less players to do so with the aid of siege weaponry than could before, this can encourage players to do so.

    All that being said, we are looking at the server performance and gameplay experience after these changes and will adjust them if needed =)

    I think the changes are great, will take some adjusting but overall I hope it does spread people out a lot more.

    well, will this make pvp exciting? Take resources and you win! You literally need to do nothing, sneak 1 guy or 2 near every resources and capture them 2-3min before every score round. Exciting! No large scale pvp and more about pve resources or fight with no more than 10 ppl all day! And running through the map all day! No transport line for u! Or u know wht, screw the scoreboard, eventually ppl will only care about ap farming.

    hmm, well if that's the way to do it, then there will be 1 or 2 guys from every alliance near every resource right? That does sound exciting, lol.

    they do need a NPC modifier, and better NPC guard AI and pathing so the NPCs can swarm out at you.
    I play every class in every situation. I love them all.

    Obviously, we will need to see how this plays out... but I'm fairly optimistic about this, and here is why:

    I play in the non-vet campaign which has always been relatively non-populated compared to the Vet campaigns. While some people found this to be a bad thing, it was the primary reason I've stayed in the non-vet... although zergs existed, it was perfectly possible to find meaningful smaller scale combat.

    From the day this game went B2P, the non-vet campaign has been absolutely jam-packed with players, and while this is a good thing in lots of ways, it's been a shock to those of us who do NOT enjoy zerv v zerg battles. I have been trying to find ways to play meaningful PVP (i.e. still contributing to the overall "war effort") while avoiding the types of battles where 5 different people feature on my death stats (and quite honestly, if the stats listed all the players who had done damage to you in the last 10 seconds, that list could quite often feature 20+ different names).

    Ganking had suddenly become my preferred style of play, but that can be kind of hit and miss in terms of action... and generally results in you getting run over by a zerg anway. These changes make defending and taking keep resources strategically important, AND not requiring you and your 75 closest friends standing next to each other to accomplish. Factions are now going to have to have small squads dedicated to defending all their resources... and small squads dedicated to taking other resources. The big zergs cans till do their thing, because it IS a very effective way of taking keeps, but this introduces meaningful small unit combat as a viable alternative playstyle.

    Note: zerg combat is not something I personally enjoy, but I fully support their existence and understand that for many people, large scale combat is the whole point of PVP.

    2.0.2 - You can take a ressource solo while shooting into the flag twice. Unfortunatey you will be oneshottet, too, if someone hits you with a siegeweapon.

    Dude, chill out. Stop seeing the situation the other way around. ZOS ADVICED us to spread out to help the latency while THEY KEEP WORKING HARD to resolve the performance issues.

    They are not blaming any of us for causing the lag, they are telling us how to help improve the performances issues. Brian posted I don't know how many times that their priority #1 at the moment is to fix the lag by optimizing the code. If you haven't read it, then you don't deserve to talk and you should definitely read more the forums before posting such useless non sense.

    STOP ADDING CRAP! FIX THE GAME BEFORE YOU ADD ANYTHING ELSE!! THIS IS RIDICULOUS! The game is advertised as a massive scale MMO. But because of your inability or unwillingness to fix PvP you now say spread out attack different targets. How about NO!!! How about I want the PvP that was advertised. So do many others. PvP is horrible at this point. I spent 5 hours in pvp last night not once did I get into a fight where i had to use any of my skills. I used fire trebs and ballista.
    Even defended a keep against a full raid w 3 people. Just setup ballista on inner keep and its GG. PvP Is a joke now. Might as well be small scale instanced PvP. How about giving us the product you advertised. One would think some kind of legal action could be taken. A case of false advertising maybe?

    Also, threatening legal action without actually taking it is kinda considered extortion. Plus, you look really foolish when you do so.

    No, it's not. It's still on ZOS. I dont want to always small scale at a resource. The reason I chose ESO is the RvR aspect, faction pride and big campaigns. This is indeed going to be the death of Cyrodiil and RvR - now Call of Duty players can have their fun while the rest wait for Camelot Unchained (goolge it if you dont know).

    Got into some fun, smaller battles this way. We took a group of 3 behind enemy lines and each soloed a resource at the same time while the fourth guy was flagging the keep, drawing nearby enemy players out to fight.

    Quick question... Do you get AP for "taking a resource"?

    If so, this could be a great development for PVE oriented players who want to enjoy Cyrodiil.

    25 AP if no enemies are there. So, not a great way to get AP.

    If enemies are there, you get the AP for killing them + a defense tick and this actually give very nice AP.

    I may not be in Cyrodil regularly but I can see this as a good change of strategy for PVP. It is PVP after all not NPC-P V NPC-P for lack of a better way to put it. The Guards/NPCs I think are there to alert you that a resource is under attack then it is up to the player to react and defend it against the enemy. In essence really the guards buy you some time to react and come and defend your resources.

    In time players will see how this pans out and ZOS can make adjustments to prevent exploits or increase the time frame before a keep resource can be taken so that the enemy players have enough time to react.
