Whats with the PVE lag?

At the moment in EU server lag is terrible for me.I got 3 times disconnected.Anyone can confirm me ?.

PvE server lag has been bad well before the 17th. There's been issues with sudden and sporadic 999+ lag spikes that can last for several minutes, crashes and disconnects, and input lag for some time now. It's just that since Tamriel Unlimited more people are experiencing it and the typical response of "It's on your end" doesn't quite cover it anymore.

What's more it's not like this is something that just snuck up on them, server congestion was an obvious out come of going b2p. If you intend to bring back old players and attract new ones you'd better be ready with the server space to accommodate them. It was a foreseeable issue and they had time to take steps to avoid it, they didn't. Now that it's come to a head we have to wait for them to fix it, which hopefully will be soon.

Now that being said, suffering the same issue. Everyday between 3-5pm Us eastern, really bad lag across all regions. Frequently get stuck in the eternal load screen of doom. With a good chance of randomly being DC'd while rooting through my inventory, entering a building, or engaging in combat. Things smooth out again till about 9-10pm. Then once again lag, disconnects, so on.

I just can't believe they knew they had a system that experienced issues with large numbers of players in one area, know that they are unable to resolve those issues with hardware and then go and launch B2P using that very system - what exactly did they think was going to happen? That no-one would show up or that the system would fix itself somehow?

These first few days of B2P are critical and new players tend to be put off horribly by the issues we are experiencing today.

Why would you start running a marathon knowing that you have a broken leg?

Just throwing my 2 cents in. There has never been lag as bad as it is now in PVE. It's bad enough that riding is giving me whiplash. There is also menu lags, loading screen lags and freezes, random loading screens after arriving at a destination. Then there is the 30 seconds of silence followed by all those sounds playing at once. Being unable to dismount.

Not exactly the welcome mat to new and returning players.

I'm having to kill things in combat with basic light / heavy attacks, no skills that target an enemy will work. They are always out of range even when i'm getting smacked with an enemy directly in front of me.

I'm new to the game and enjoying it immensely!

*Except for the 100% failure rate of my crafting improvements at 90% chance but then every mmo I have ever played I have abysmal rng luck lol.

I cannot fast travel into Reaper's March, the game closes down with an error every time I try after 10 minutes of loading screen. I suspect lag is the problem here too.

Before Update 6 everything was fine and I enjoyed the game very very much. In PvE I experienced no lags at all, my latency was around 180-220 (which is ok since I'm from Germany) and my FPS were in between 50-100 at ultra high settings.

Now unfortunately things have changed dramatically! I'm experiencing massive lags all over Tamriel (especially in dungeons and cities), the game crashes frequently and my FPS have gone down to 50% - 60% of what they where before and randomly my latency goes up to 999+ for no reason at all. So for me the game became almost unplayable. If that permanently continues to be the case I'll cancel my subscription and I'll stop playing the game because it's no more fun at all!

And it can't be my rig because I have an i7@3,4 Ghz, 16GB RAM and a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming. My internet connection is 100 Mbit/sec.

Please Zenimax fix this problem (or rather these problems) ASAP! Thanks a lot in advance!

Well thank you very much Zenimax for the first 10 months of pleasure. Even though the game was filled with bug and I defended it over and over telling everyone to be patient, I now realise this was stupid of me.

You guys are simply lacking experience in every aspect. Im canceling my subscription. Been a player since Launch, it is sad...

Expect to see a LOT of people leaving you before you even have a chance to release console version.

The only thing different now then 1.6 is all the dumb crown store pets think i'm going to blame that! Tired of lag and freezes and coming back dead. Half the time i'm pounding on keyboard anyway because the attacks will not work its all lagged out. just general area of stonefalls.

I don't really understand why the devs are acting shocked that something isn't functioning properly after a patch... i mean in the (almost) year this game has been live, i don't think there's been a single update that hasn't broken something in the game. while 1.6 did bring in some new features and functionality, it also brought with it a sundry of various broken and untested items including the PVE lag and random hard crashes. Naturally the dev response has been to the tune of LOLZ FIX YOUR PC DERRRPPP

This is literally the most ignorant type of response to this issue. For the VAST majority (I'd wager 99%) of Players absolutely NOTHING CHANGED on their side from the day before B2P to the day after and yet many of us are experiencing horrible lag, ESO just dropping for no reason, Error <<1>> when trying to log in, etc. It has NOTHING to do with Player's PC/connection if nothing changed from March 16th to March 17th and said Player starts seeing lag issues.

I was crashing and being kicked for spamming all day yesterday in Daggerfall. For a short time I was unable to fast travel out of Bangkorai, either through teleport or wayshrine, because it always kicked me out with <<1>> error (repair didn't do anything). My loading screens are also longer than they used to be.

Oh well if it's localised lag to a certain zone or instance i'd imagine that'll clear up. I have a feeling they will start to lower the player cap in each instanced 'shard' now that the wave of returning players and newcomers has settled. Group dungeons are instanced to four players. If they are hitting the limit for what the servers can handle, it's a problem with bad programming, too few servers or too little available bandwith. Or possibly a combination of all of those. Besides, lag happens in PvE zones that are nowhere near crowded. It's something else that's causing this, and I don't think the problem will clear up without some serious developer intervention.

Was this thred not about PvE Lag? We have enough of PvP Disscussion somewhere else. We run last week two times at the EU Server while trying to do Veteran Dungeons into incredible lag. Definitly server lag - as all 4 have the same symptoms. Yesterday
we did not dare to try it again. From my observeration it happens at the peak times, in the evening only between 8 and 10, mostly.

Hope ZOS will give some attention to it, as this issue will drive a lot more players away then any PvP Lag that is might existing. There are surely more PvE Players on the Serven then PvP will ever see.

Places and situations where I am encountering lag in PvE . . .

1) Going in and out of zones and places where a loading screen has to pop up, i.e. wayshrines, leaving and entering delves and dungeons, changing quest areas.

2) Fighting mobs in the Stormhaven zones, will have really terrible lag where nothing happens for a while when I am pressing buttons.

3) Talking to NPCs for quests and dialogue

4) A lot of other places

Well, this is a chance for PvPers to vent some frustration too. If they fix lag for PvE they should do the same for PvP

While I dont see it as extreme as some other other people in this thread. I do see latency spikes during prime time. Crashes seem more often during busy times in main hubs (mournhold and wayrest for example)

Any other issue has been on my end.

At release I had no crash (plenty of bugged quests though) and no lag whatsoever.
Since then, I am playing with the same computer and same ISP.
Performance stayed the same until patch 1.6.

Then, apparently I need to buy a new PC and change ISP because IT CANT BE that patch 1.6 is GARBAGE, it HAS to be our computer.

Can I sell you that Brooklyn bridge? You seem to wear thick pink lenses enough for that.
