I don't know . . . maybe not so crazy! Let me know what you think.
Most players are aware of the upcoming Imperial City, and those longing for new content are chomping at the bit for its arrival. I think it's going to be an awesome addition to the game, and each time I come to the fringes of its location in Cyrodil and see those enticing ruins, I'm tremendously inspired.
So here's my idea, and being a newbie to MMOs, I'm not sure how credible or doable it would be: From my understanding, IC is going to be a PVP zone, and, more or less, an extension of the PVP in Cyrodil, but with some intriguing aspects of the city itself, including an elaborate sewer system as part of the entryway.
What if there was a disruptive element that was thrown into the mix of PVP that would make players evaluate in real time the choices they made about their combat strategies? In normal PVP, we're part of a faction, and we engage with other player factions in combat to control resources throughout Cyrodil. So in the Imperial City, the same thing applies, but at various points in time monstrous Daedric Princes appear and wreak havoc upon all players, regardless of their faction. This type of mechanic would offer the enticing dilemma of player choice between fighting other player factions, or fighting the daedric minions that appear. I would even envision players
from different factions collaborating to defeat the monsters. It would be interesting to see that sense of indecisiveness that would occur when the daedric boss is defeated, and players return to the normal PVP. Do I now attack the player who I fought alongside with so well in the struggle against the daedric prince? Would there be some type of mechanic that would allow for reconciliation between factions? Might there even be future zones that would allow for cross-faction grouping?
What if this became the return of Molag Bal? Molag Bal seeking revenge against all those players who defeated him . . . what better place than the Imperial City?
