Lets see:

1.) Sai would kill himself, just to not have to kill the others.
2.) Lyris would blame Abner for giving Sai the guilt trip, so she would start swinging her axe at him.
3.) Abner would keep bubbling himself to infinity, never loosing health, while his manic regen allowed him to keep on bubbling.
4.) Eventually, Lyris would launch a particularly heavy blow, that deflects and slices into "the Prophet", killing him.
5.) When Lyris went over to see if Varen could be revived, Abner toasts her for trying to get him.
6.) Azura appears and removes Abner from existance for siding with Molag Bal for so long.

Referencing the introduction where Lyris doesn't open the cell doesn't apply. It doesn't exist anymore. It's no longer part of the story. The story, as written, has Lyris as the figure head that set the events of eso that involve our character in motion.

Sure it apply. We saw what if not Lyris saved us. It was not only hypothetical theory, but actually real experiment. And it still exist in my memory. You can't unsee. But yeah, you can still pretend that it never happened. We saw what happened if not Lyris saved us and there is no difference.

Since he really DIDNT know, but COULD FIND OUT. If he did find him, it was off-stage from our actions.
