If the four companions had a duel to the death, who would win?

Let's say for some reason the four companions had to duel to the death. Who would you pick to win? I'm voting Abnur Tharn because I feel he would find a way to cheat somehow.

None of them, they would stand around and whine about their aches and pains. By the end of the main quest, I considered letting the bad guys win just to shut them up.

If they all became filled with uncontrollable rage, here's my idea of how it'd go down,.

- Varen gets axed through his gut, explodes into moths and dies.
- Sai knocks Lyris down when she kills Varen, his feelings all over the place.
- Abnur strikes. His staff-blast turning Sai into dust.
- A good five minutes of Lyris and Abnur insulting each other and parrying attacks.
- Abnur makes a crack about how Sai was a pathetic Sword-Singer and how he and Lyris will never be together.
- Axe drops, Lyris drops. Abnur emerges victorious.


(- Moths reform into Varen and he plots his revenge)

I went with Tharn, as he's among the most powerful magic users of that time.

I was tempted to pick Sai since he's a descendant of freaking Leki, and turned a failed mutiny on its head by scalping 86 mercenaries.

Not really sure what Lyris has done, but she smashed apart a rock wall in Coldharbour so that's pretty cool.

Varen is clearly powerful, but not necessarily combatitive.

Excluding the Big Bad Foozle, clearly Abnur as back in the day mages (and by extension Battlemages) were was OP and would be able to defeat the other 3 easily.

Taking companion #5 out of the equation, my money's on Varen or Abnur.

Varen because he can more than handle himself, Abnur because he would have no issue fighting dirty.

Yeah, but only if you include Mannimarco or

Without either of them, who would likely win hands-down in such a fight, there's a bit more scope for an interesting duel.

I don't know, Varen was Emperor and they followed him. Its hard to say how dangerous he really is because we only find him as a shriveled up old moth priest.

Depends on the rules of the engagement, and what they were fighting for, and the order in which they were killed.

If there are any rules... Tharn. Because he'd break them.

If at the end, Tharn is already dead... Sai nor Lyris would kill Varen unless there was some major reason. As far as them killing each other... not so sure about that either.

I don't think we saw enough of their actual abilities to know... and on any given day, any of them *could* win.

Tharn! Even if there was Mannimarco. It's not a question who is more powerfull (1v1 Tharn vs Mannimarco more likely win Mannimarco). If there was a deathmatch Tharn would be the winner because of brains. He easily could instigate other companions to "deal" with Mannimarco and then Tharn kill others. Sai more likely sacrifice himself to save Snow Lilly. Varen - blind old man, not a threat. Snow Lilly - IMO not so strong and die easily.

IMO she weakest of the companions. I don't say she could be beaten by any dweeb, but if you compare her to any companion before soulburst - she is the the weakest link.

Actually, we do. We have conversations and quests with all companions exept Mannimarco. Also, don't forget that all this topic is hypothetical. And interesting reading. This is how you can make them fight. Thought experiment
