If you want to fix your alliance tags bug I got the fix that should work for you every time until it doesn't lol

Step 1. Under setting disable all health bars

    Step 2. Alt F4

Step 3. Wait 2 minutes, take a quick bio

Step 4. Log back in, you should see your alliance tags back

Step 5. Re-enable the health bars

PS step 2 & 3 are very important, do not just log out.

    Good hunting !

Just turning everything off quit the game and relog then turn everything on works fine for me. alt-f4 works too when everything is set off.

@Tintinabula I find that when you get the greyed out ability bar - press the sprint key and that should bring it back to normal. Not sure why, but that works for me.

That sounds like a 5 minute minimum fix, assuming no load screen bosses and that you didn't get kicked out of Cyrodiil and then get to wait in queue again (especially a concern for EP).
I appreciate the work-around, but honestly they just need to fix this. It's not viable for a large pvp group to constantly have members logging off for 5+ minutes to fix their tags.
ZOS, I disabled my add ons, restarted my router, repaired my game, disabled my firewall, and vacuumed my living room - the problem is not client side, please please please, FIX MAH ****!

O don't get me wrong this needs to get fixed ASAP, I only posted this to help people out in the immediate until they do fix this pvp breaking bug. Also your right this fix takes about 5 minutes. But it's better then having no tags for your entire play time. On another note, after I fixed it with the above method the bug did not seem to occur again during that session.

Heavy Armor was supposed to bring more survivability and make it possible to tank. This is not happening yet. Every class still depends on shield stacking which is magicka related.

They should have brought new abilities from medium and heavy armor trees to increase block / dodge / evasion rating (stamina based), to compensate the lack of magicka for shield stacking.

The other fixes are great and no matter the remaining bugs, I am satisfied of the hard work of Zenimax.

I agree with this. There should be abilities tied to each armor, unlocked at 5 pieces that allow for a greatly increased survivability in a particular area. Then you could just nerf shields altogether and make them mini buffs. The shield stacking in this game has become completely ridiculous.

Also, after nerfing shields more and increasing buffs to armor line abilities, they should also increase health values. This would give a better balance to the game I believe.

Shield Stacking General in this game got a huge buff last patch, even with the -15% added on to it.

Not only are the shields vastly more powerful then before.....They still can't be Crit, which means they're basically running around with the old benefit of Impenetrable while everyone else now has to deal with the fact that Impen now is bloody useless and everyone is perma critting everyone for stupid amounts....Throw in the fact that they reduced everyones HP and is there any reason shields didn't get more powerful?

With 7 medium + 4/4 Improved Hiding Legerdemain + 3 piece Nightshade set (decrease detection radius by 2 meters. Reduce Sneak Cost by 23%) I can be in Sneak, cast Retreating Maneuvers and move around with my Stamina regenerating (very slowly, but still going up rather than staying still or decreasing) the entire time.
If they fix the /bug report am not sure how it will work out, but even with 7 Medium + 4/4 Improved Hiding is a huge bonus (89% reduce Sneak cost).
It has the added bonus of providing a nice boost to my Heavy and Light armoured builds as well.

I am a Templar. I don't use Blazing Shield or any other type of damage shield's? What does that mean? Does that mean that I don't want to win in pvp? (LOL) What does that mean?

I guess we are supposed to use certain skills right? I mean it seems that way with 1.6. Run a damage shield or die.

You sound like you are (still) under the impression that PvP is something ZOS really cares about.

Because I was not a Deer

Then they came for our torchbugs and I did not speak out—
For I was not a torchbug...

By the time they turned the Imperial City into a DLC PvE only zone,
No one spoke out because all the PvP'ers had already left the game.

I missed the part where they said it's now PvE. When did they decide this?
    Random thought-
ZoS decided after 1.6 in their infinite wisdom that I wanted my graphics settings on high when they are normally on medium. This was causing me to lag more than usual after 1.6. Now I dont doubt for one second lag could've gotten worse but checking if ur graphics settings changed is worth a look.

They need to do away with PvP servers and make one Cyrodiil. Cut it into 4 maps; Dominion Battlefront, Pact Battlefront, Covenant Battlefront and the Imperial City/outskirts and increase the size of each map x2. Until they actually encourage people to get off of one server the performance on said server will be horrendous. When you play in Cyrodiil, it doesn't even feel like it is connected to the game in ANY way, other than the "passive" buffs, how does this "Alliance War" map affect the world? It doesn't. Where is our faction leaders and champions when our side is getting stomped back to the gates? Where is the world interaction from all zones that should be affected by this "Alliance War"? There is none.

Until they add depth in Cyrodiil and they make the actual Cyrodiil map meaningful other than PvP ranks and passive buffs, this PvP structure will stay bad and always will be bad.

Oh and do not try to say IC will add back to PvP because who are we kidding? All Alliances have their own buff servers, they will all have free access to it and will not have to work for it. ZOS is doing such a bad job with PvP structure in this game it is sad. The worst part is, the actual Player verse Player is phenomenal.....

A lot of that comes down to there being very little reason to play a Tank in the first place...Nirnhoned doesn't help sure..But when you can play a Burst Glass Cannon with equal survive-ability or greater simply by stacking shields..there is little reason to play an actual tank...

Wrote in a ticket due to frequent 999+ pings since 1.6.

ZOS had me cycle my router and home network then perform a pathping.

After doing so, the pathping log showed a smooth connection out of my network and on all steps until it tried to reach server at the last step where it timed out.

Not surprised, but sent in the log in hopes that they will fix whatever is going on at the server.

Not to mention the increase AoE caps is also causing it to lag harder because the system has to do a lot more than what it used to.

If ZoS wants any of the people that come for PvP on march 17th they better do something and fast, I pvped for the first 3 days of 1.6 and haven't gone back because I could not play going near any keep under siege because It was just a massive lag fest.

I don't think its AOE caps being gone, I can show you a video of a big ep zerg getting absolutely ripped to hell and back on Chillrend and not any lag happening. in fact from what i've played on chillrend, despite having equally large battles compared to Thornblade there is zero lag on there in comparison....So either its Thornblade itself..or someone doing something on thornblade thats causing the lag.

This has been my experience, too. Again I will theorize that the Thornblade database has been shredded b/c of more constant use over time.
