I said 1.6 is no relaunch for ESO and that HoT is more of a "relaunch" than 1.6 is - but GW2 doesn't need a relaunch, the game has been a success from day 1 on.
that makes it worse right? I mean if a few could do it and there was 100% drop rate, we would truthfully have "demigods" owning PVP and the rest would probably quit.

Maybe this game needs something along that lines. A shake up.
You haven't visited the forums lately, have you? They're way worse than this one. And the CS reps are getting gun shy as far as answering at all. I had to stop visiting, it's such a cesspool. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than the SWTOR forums.
Ive played since launch and I dont see it like that. Yes they do give a little more leeway and arent as hardcore anything even remotely considered offensive is an infraction here. Now they have new rules here not only can you not disparage any fellow forum users. You also cannot say anything bad about ZOS or be banned. So ya they give a little more rope to people at the swtor forums. They did however listen to the players who asked for things like housing, guild halls, galactic starfighter and all the other stuff they added as a direct result of player feedback.
Where have they said that you can't say anything bad about ZOS?
You have to be polite in your criticism, and not attack the devs nor anyone else on the forum.
How is it so hard to phrase criticism in a polite manner that treats all involved as human beings instead of ranting or posting non-replies?

Nowhere did they say Imperial city was coming next. Also nowhere did they say it would be months or even weeks after console launch before the first content update. Just they wanted to wait till the console release "settled down". Whatever that means.

Settle down after console launch implies to "until console version runs smooth, without major bugs and gameplay issues". You know they couldn't handle that within 12 months on PC now, so I guess the time period to settle down may be longer than expected.

It says right in the new moderation rules you cannot say anything bad about the company.

Absolutely right. I honestly got bored with GW2 as I found it a bit of a letdown coming from GW1, however GW2 was VERY POLISHED at launch. It was complete, unbroken, balanced. It may not be as good of a game as ESO as far as concept and design, but it was FAR BETTER game in terms of production and development.

Implies maybe. Maybe not. We havent hit even 11 months have we? From launch I mean. I seriously doubt they mean without major bugs or gameplay issues. There are no MMOs that have no bugs or gameplay issues.

There are MMOs that have had less bugs and less gameplay issues although they've been around for less than a year.
We hit the 11th month few days ago, but I doubt 1.6 (=March) will improve that lol.

In the next several years games such as EQ next, black desert, Albion online, Camelot unchained, and others will come out and each of them will potentially have gameplay aspects that ESO lacks.
ESO may continue to maintain some profitability but it's going to be a niche game similar to SWTOR. People seem to think there will be a massive surge in players after March but I am skeptical that it will be as large as everyone seems to anticipate. There might be a noticeable increase in the 1-50 ranks but as fast as people reach vet levels, vets will also be leaving so there will be no true growth in population due to attrition.
SWTOR is a niche game? They have almost 1 million people playing that game and about 75% of those pay a sub per month. If thats a niche I want my game in that niche too if Im ZOS lol.
Yep agree with this SWTOR is a great game and am subbed to it at the moment. For some reason I always go back to it. ESO is going to be the same way with me. Love both games and hope ESO stands the tide of time and stays around for a long time. Two games I can stay subbed too and enjoy my time in it.
Ive played swtor since launch. I still play every now and again but I dont pay a sub.

Which MMOs are those that are bug free and out less than one year?
SG_Celerrimus wrote: »Here is my prediction for how ESO is going to go about its stuff for a little while in the future:
So, without a doubt, I am feeling that the Imperial City is going to be Update 7, along with the Justice System PvP workings. Update 7 is going to be the big PvP update, with all new revamped PvP stuff, and hey, maybe even they will throw Dueling in there to get the extra points of awesomeness.
I have a feeling that they are going to want to push Update 7 out relatively soon, maybe a month - a month and a half after Tamriel Unlimited, as a large portion of the PvP community is waiting on that Update to come out, its decently popular, and they have talked about it a good number of times.
After that, I can see production slowing down, as B2P is going to be a thing, but I would imagine it would largely be determined by their income through purchases from new players, and the crown store purchases, as they need money in order to hire devs that will make the game DLCs. Maybe Bethesda will swoop in and do some miracle working from time to time, but that is a big maybe, if its even possible.
Update 8 I have a feeling will be the Wrothgar patch, maybe Murkmire thrown in there, although we have barely heard about Murkmire, as far as I know, since Quakecon, so if that is still a thing, or if that is being worked on, remains to be seen.
For the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves guild, well I would say that is relatively up in the air. Maybe it could land in Update 8, maybe 7 (although I would highly doubt it).
They did say that Spell Crafting is not a priority right now (*insert super duper sad face here*), so I would expect that to be put off for Update 9-10, if they decide to start working on it again.
I would imagine Player Housing might be a thing, as its an ES thing, and it has been brought up several times in the past, and with new people coming it might get reignited as a hot topic pretty soon.
After Update 9-10, I would imagine we would start seeing undetailed things, like the stuff shown in the Tamriel Unlimited announcement video,
That is just my thoughts/predictions on where ESO is going after TU launches. I am really hoping they put Spell Crafting back on the front stage for production, but one can only sit back and wait.
I wonder how many players were actually here at launch? Because I can tell from first-hand that ESO had one of the smoothest launches in the history of MMOs. There was absolutely no problems with any disconnects or server-side problems. Yes there were some bugged quests, but seriously broken game? Hell no. I've run perhaps into 5 bugged quests on my way to 1-50, which only 1 of those couldn't be fixed by relogging. And even that one got patched in the 1st week. VR1-10 I've run into ZERO bugged quests.

Apart from Endgame Content, ESO didn't lack much. PvP Endgame doesn't need that much messing around with it apart from balancing classes and perhaps Imperial City, but that's it. Battlegrounds and Arenas are not even near the experience and quality that you get from Cyrodiil. I'd even argue that Cyrodiil would die if ZOS ever releases Battlegrounds. ESO launched with a big number of dungeons, probably the most levelling content as well (6-8 months just levelling for casuals). Oh and PvP making up a total of 1-2% of playerbase is a very logical thing. You'd be surprised how MMO players avoid PvP at any cost.
But enough with that. Those 1.2mil subscribers they estimated, nope all that money was just from the cash-shop and subs (no box sales). Seeing ESO had no cash-shop unless you think Palomino Horse made them millions..It's safe to estimate 1.2 mil is correct, which puts the current sub total to 900k. Nothing to brag about yes, but update 6 will push it over 1mil again. Console will have at a bare minimum only 3x more subs than on PC, so take out of that what you will. But ESO was never really dying, B2P Model was already planned ever since Beta, just because of Consoles. It's funny I never though Consoles would get to be called Master Race, sadly it's been this way with TES Series forever now.
Oh and for all other people who are reading these official forums and don't know what to make out of it. There is always a better alternative -> ESO Reddit Forum.
