[UPDATED 2.0.12] Champion Point Passives Calculators

Well it will likely just be the formatting tomorrow that I can get complete (I'll try to get the working formulas plugged in as well but no promises). I am also exploring options to save information and generate a shareable url like the outdated build sites. Unfortunately I have not figured out a good way to accomplish it yet....If I can I might be willing to try to do a java applet that does the CS passives and skill builds. This is way in development though and may never see the light of day depending on what I can work out on my end.

It's funny the math is the easy part for me the website stuff is the hard part

I still get bothered into going to the old skill calculators by friends and trying to make them "working" builds out of outdated info, so, if by "CS passives and skill builds" you mean have update abilities as well, that would be amazing.

If not, a share able URL would still be extremely helpful as I help friends and what not, do future character planning, etc.

That's exactly what i mean, updated and correct and share-able...but I have to figure out a way to implement it with the resources I am using.

We share some formulas and his stuff might be helpful. I'm sticking to web based content and our projects only partially overlap.

Yap, unfortunately I'm not able to make this Web based, my knowledge about java is not that huge.
Anyway there is a project to implement my program into an Addon / Website, hope everything works well.

I'm too lazy to write a PM right now, but as I told you, the buff food is not part of the stat increase thing and the same applies on Mundus effects, in case you didn't find it out until now.

Hey @Tarikko @Elder_III @Dagoth_Rac @Atarax @SG_Celerrimus @Soulac @Bouvin I am working on the layout for the more advanced calculator and I would like everyones input before I get too far into this much larger project. Anyone else is welcome to give input also. Some specific questions I would like answered:

I have changed the input (for the star CP values) into slider bars instead of input text boxes is there a preference?

The tower tree as you pit points into the stars will pop-up passives as they are unlocked (not implemented in the other trees yet) is this desirable (obviously a description of the passive telling what the bonus does would pop up in the completed version)?

Under each star in the tower tree is a box this will output the % buff like in the basic calculators, is this the correct info people would like here? Desired format? Any additional info that would be wanted here?

Any further feedback?

I guess my idea is that the larger calculators will provide the necessary (for a build info) while the basic calculators will contain graphs and additional information for theory crafting or understanding etc...that said its the entire playernase that will be utilizing the calculators so your input helps to make sure the product is useful for everyone.

Edit: Also I changed the formatting some I think it looks better aesthetically than the orogionals ...so lemme know if the new look or the old look is preferable.

Well you ask about the current Ressource, but the champion-system doesn´t care about Mundus or Foodbuff bonus, so it´s calculated without them.

Let them insert their current Mundus, their active BuffFood and their current Stat, you´ll need all three for a correct calculation.

((Base+Enchant+Set)*(Modifier*InvestedChampionPoints^Modifier)+(Base+Enchant+Set+BuffFood+Mundus))*(1+OtherPassives)

Well you need to find out the BASE, that´s actually not easy if the player only sees his current stat.

BaseStat = TotalBase without any Passives, equip etc. + Attributs + Enchants + SetBonus
Problem: The current stat includes Mundus (Tower as example), BuffFood, Increases like Racial Passives and the champion-based increases as well.

Basically you need a "few" more informations about the current data of the player, like equip and passives, the food etc.
For me it´d too much work, but maybe you find a better way :P

Ok, the Advanced Thief calculator has now been broken into pages:

Page 1 - is the input from your character stats (this isn't complete and will request more information to allow calculations for P5).

Page 2 - is your choices for points in the tower tree (this is complete unless feedback indicates changes are needed)

Page 3 - is your choices for points in the shadow tree (this is complete unless feedback indicates changes are needed)

Page 4 - is your choices for points in the lover tree (this is complete unless feedback indicates changes are needed)

Page 5 - currently this contains the total points used (this is incomplete and will Calculate all the bonuses provided by the champion point allocation)

Gimme another round of feedback please!

Hey, all involved - thanks for the hard work. I just saw this and was reading through it. Work limits how much I can review the calculator right now, but I will gladly jump to it later. I have wanted to be able to see what I was getting as well as to have the ability to plan out where I want to spend points. Thanks for all the hard work and I will get back to this by tomorrow. Again....awesome's and insightful's throughout from me for taking the time to enhance the gaming experience.

I broke it into pages based on your feedback @Elder_III ...Unfortunately, doing it in a tree form like you suggest requires a lot of GUI design work (probably can do it with NetBeans and import as html into my page, but there could also be compatibility issues). Maybe down the road this could be done but for the present I'm going to focus on getting something functional that players can use now working.

Alright - sorry it took me 2 days to get here, but been busy. I have played with the calculator and it is simple enough. A tad discouraged by how little the returns are for some things, but not your fault right?

So I thought I read that you were going to combine the trees? Basically it would be nice to have a compare it feature or method to be able to look at the overall impact of the CP. So I can see if I drop X points in this area to get Y, but then I have to write that down, then do another, etc. Having the ability to say put X to see Y, realize not enough, or too much, after placing points elsewhere, then going back. (terrible analogy......

25 CP into Elemental Defender = X%
18 CP into Hardy = Y%

If I want to see what 24 CP does so I can add to the 18 CP, I have to jump around and record the data on a spreadsheet. Not sure how much work that is, or maybe I just missed it? I like the base ability to see at what point adding the CP becomes not worth it (due to the returns) Will save me from having to respect, or play around when making my decisions.

I admit, I haven't had a ton of time to go through it, so I owe you that before I get too "needy" with the requests. I will do that in the next day or two (Finally getting my weekend off)

And correct me if I'm wrong...You have it for each of the skills in a said tree right? I know you mentioned the unlocks, but I didn't see that. Meaning how many points into X to unlock Y skill in the tree? Just curious.

Thanks again, visually it works good and I found it easy to navigate through.

Currently the advanced one is broken into 5 pages that you can move forward and backwards to look at the various values.I can easily switch it to one long page if that is easier but it felt cluttered to me.

So the advanced calculator is still under development but the current layout is a general idea just imagine more inputs on page 1 from your character and more outputs showing how those inputs were modified by the stats you picked.

Then if this is likable I will eventually make a warrior and a mage tree to match the thief one.

Hope that makes sense (it does in my head).

@Faugaun - Right. It does make sense. And I said I didn't give it a good going through (time restraints) so I owe ya better. I will though. I will look at the combo one tomorrow. Cause honestly, having to fumble my way through the CP is not appealing. Any chance to preview my choices is a plus for me. I respect way too much to want to have to add CP to my time.

And I appreciate the time you put into it. And hopefully, I can lure some of my guild mates over there so they can give it a run through too.

K, so I did just look briefly at the combo one. That works good. I would like to see the others as this will allow for a bigger picture for how I could spend my initial 70CP, and give me the ability to plan ahead as well. I personally, am a "one page" guy. Don't base the choice on just me. I like to have it all right there so I can see it without having to flip around. Just an opinion. But it works good for seeing what I can expect, or laying out a game plan for where to put points to see the best returns.

Looks like only one star changed I will be implementing the changes to the formula for this one star in both the basic and advanced calculators and updating all calculators to reflect that they are up to date for version 1.6.4 .

All calculators are updated. all pages the calculators are on are also updated. My notes on the patch are updated.

1.6.4 is go go go (I'm expecting 1.6.5 will be tomorrow and on live server but only time will tell, If so it will be Tuesday before I can get the calculators updated, there will likely be very few changes to the passives in the next version so you can likely rely on the 1.6.4 version to give correct information just be cautious until I officially update for the live version).

@ZOS_GinaBruno Thanks, Gina and the rest of the team for getting Bashing Focus improved this was an important change.

All calculators are correct for 1.6.5 the live server version. No changes occurred between 1.6.4 and 1.6.5. The text on the web pages containing the calculators will be updated shortly but you may use the calculators with confidence.
