Sorcerer
  • Daedric Summoning
    • Rebate: Fixed an issue where this ability was not restoring Magicka when a Daedric pet was de-summoned or died.
  • Dark Magic
    • Dark Conversion (Dark Exchange Morph): Rank 4 of this ability can now be toggled on and off.
  • Storm Calling
    • Critical Surge (Surge Morph): This ability now correctly lists a 20-second duration in its tooltip.
    • Expert Mage: This passive ability has been changed. It now grants 2% Spell Power for each Sorcerer ability slotted instead of 10% reduced cost to lightning spells.
    • Lightning Splash: Increased the duration to 6 seconds from 4 seconds.
    • Liquid Lighting (Lightning Splash Morph): Increased this ability’s duration to ten seconds, and removed the additional damage from the first hit.
    • Overload: Reduced the rank up bonus damage for this ability from 3% to 1%. Also, Overload and its morphs will no longer trigger Ultimate gain from Light and Heavy Attacks.
    • Surge (All Ranks & Morphs): This ability can now trigger off of doing damage to player characters that are using damage mitigation shields.

I'm just lol'ing at this point. I'm sure ZOS are trolling us.
  • Expert mage will grant 2% per ability. Even with 4 abilities that's 8% spell damage (which is is what 3%-4% more raw damage) in exchange for an increase on Storm Calling ability cost. Makes Crit Surge and Bolt Escape even more expensive. Nerf in my book, would gladly revert back.
  • Liquid Lighting. Longer duration, but loses the 75% increase damage on hit. Good luck keeping something or somebody confined within 4 meters for 10". Nerf in my book too. Unless hitting something very static
  • Overload. Reduced damage by 8%. Increased cost by 10%. Nerf
  • Shield 15% smaller in Cyro. Nerf
  • Shield can be crit upon. Nerf
Have I missed anything?

I've been telling people for months to abandon ship with regards to Sorcerers. Do yourself a favor: Take my advice and roll a different class.
    Invictus
Kilandros - Dragonknight / Grand Overlord
Deimos - Templar / Grand Warlord
    Sias - Sorcerer / Prefect
Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

DK IS NOT JUST A TANK CLASS. #PLAYTHEWAYYOUWANT

Sadly, 2% spell power per ability is exactly what I expected, lol.

CF not proc'n off streak..no mention.
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    Compare to
Siphoning Strikes: Reduced the damage penalty for having Siphoning Strikes active by 5%. Also, this ability (all ranks and morphs) can now trigger off of doing damage to player characters that are using damage mitigation shields.

    2%..ZOS made my day :D

I just don't understand. They nerfed Crit Surge by adding a cooldown. Then they buffed a Mage's Guild skill to give the same buff plus others at a significantly smaller cost. Then they increased the cost of Crit Surge even more by the change to Expert Mage as if they really want to do drive home the point:
"Guys, this skill...you shouldn't use it"

It's all just funny to me at this point. It's like they're intentionally trolling.

I must be gullible because I keep thinking that they'll finally understand if we provide enough feedback, but it just isn't happening. I think whoever is in charge of balance has a strange hatred for feedback and it is as if they are mad at Sorc for trying to get their class fixed.

We've been asking for buffs and been getting nerfs. Maybe we should start reverse psychology. Should we ask for nerfs so as to get buffs? :scream:

Expert Mage: This passive ability has been changed. It now grants 2% Spell Power for each Sorcerer ability slotted instead of 10% reduced cost to lightning spells.

I fail to see how this could even remotely be the improvement that was announced on ESO Live. The end of the 10% reduced cost is a big nerf to overload that had finally been changed to a useful ability in update 6. The execute phase will also be much harder to sustain now and surge will probably be even weaker than before compared to Entropy.

    Other passives for classes/mages guild
    Nightblades get:
Increases the effectiveness of your healing done by 3% for each Siphoning ability slotted.
Increases Max Health by 3% for each Shadow ability slotted.

    Templars get:
Increases Weapon Damage by 6% (as a passive without requirement)

    Mages guild gets:
Increases Max Magicka and Magicka Regeneration by 2% for each Mages Guild ability slotted

    Wololo.

Ive already started a new char, 2h NB this time. They cant seem to get sorcs right.

Expert mage, feels more like a nerf since 2 very important spells will be alot more expencive to cast. Surge and Bolt Escape. Feels like a nerf.

Ah well, atleast it puts me at ease for changing class to nb.

Truly incredible. I might just play something else for a few months/years until they get this settled. I'm seeing very-little-to-no reason to play a sorc over any other class for any role.

I don't know if there are any stamina Sorcs still left in the game, but I'm sure that increase in Crit Surge and BE costs for 0 return to them is going to be really "awesome".

As if these skills were not already expensive for stamina builds.

    Who thinks these things through?

The loss of Expert Mage's cost increase shouldn't be a huge issue for LA caster sorcs. Our magicka regen should cover the difference without much impact. If you're a MA Stamina sorc, though, maintaining Surge and Lightning Form may require some changes in your gearset.

We don't know if the crit surge change means shields can be crit. You would think that they would have spelled out such a change, as it would be fairly devastating for sorc casters in Cyrodiil. Perhaps they've done something specific to Surge. So, let's wait and see on this one.

This might be true if they didn't already nerf Cost reduction (including Light Armor) by 12.3%.

I was about to cry, when I was reading the notes. But not because I found it funny, but because it made me really sad. Okay i addition to that, I am an emotional girl, that cries during The Hobbit 3 when King Thranduiil shows up. however.

And the initial hit on lightning splash even did 100% additional damage, not only 75%. The worst part is, the poor Exper Mage buff. Me and many others have expected an 5% increase at least, now it's only 2%
