From todays Road Ahead:

As such, I can tell you that we'll almost certainly have experience boost potions in the store at some point, as this kind of shortcut (spending less time to gain experience) is classified as a convenience. That way, you still have the choice of purchasing them with crowns or in-game gold.

you dont pay a sub your 10% behind
you dont spend money on these in the crown store, your behind.

slippery slope folks.

So, what do you get as an ESO Plus member? Let’s go over the benefits:

A 10% bonus to XP and gold gain, crafting research, and inspiration

While you’re a member, you’ll enjoy faster progression thanks to the helpful buffs to XP, gold, and crafting.

The above is for people that continue to pay subscriptions.

Who has more of an advantage?

    Slippery slope?
You woke up grumpy today or something?
Here is another quote from the same page.. by the same person who wrote what you are quoting.

The most important thing to remember about Tamriel Unlimited's virtual currency system is that we're not adjusting the base game—it will be exactly the same game, with the same leveling pace, experience point gain, user interface, etc. that you have been used to since April of last year. We're adding customization and convenience items in the Crown Store, but those will be added to the game as it is now; we're not going to make it harder for you to enjoy the game you already play to encourage you to use the Crown Store.

You do realize that ESO took a major hit in players right?
They have a handful in the live game, and less than that on the ptr.

Being a subscriber gives you benefits.
It helps the game, and it helps the player, it enhances fun.
Can you please remind yourself and the people you are talking to, that the STORE ITEMS are ACCOUNT BOUND, meaning you don't need to buy them multiple times.
Which makes it one of the best cash shops that has ever been created to date, that alone proves p2w is not something they are focused on, and are only focused on players enjoyment and giving them the options of how they want to enjoy themself.

If you are going to compare the exp boost potion to things like champ points.. then suck it up princess, the current 3600-CP is for testing on the ptr..not something they are going to release the patch with the ability to gain all of those points.

I can understand why you would be upset, if you are just hoping to play the game for free for the rest of your life, because the store stuff can't be gifted, which would be awesome if the store had a gifting option

Either way i hope they don't restrict the ability of wearing costumes in PVP/Cyradiil.
I hope instead they hear both sides of the argument of costumes in Cyradiil, and just add a settings that lets people turn off and on being able to see costumes, so both sides can be happy.

But seriously guys, please shut up about "pay-to-win"! No item in the crown store could even be CONSIDERED P2W, so I don't know why there's so much fuss about it.

    Of course I did.
You do realize that even if you buy it for gold, you will be left with less gold to spend on other things compared to credit card warriors and as a result may end up with inferior gear, buffs, potions etc., right?

    +1

Now bring out the vet levels in the crown store. I'd pay cause I'm not grinding them

No, I don't realize that. The amount of gold you have is on you as a player. If you don't have enough gold to buy what you need, you should get more.

So I didn't overlook the in game gold thing.

If you can get them with in game gold....we will get a huge amount of gold farmers. Guaranteed.
If you can get them with in game gold....then why subscribe at all. 1500 crowns for a mount at that point a month....no thanks.
If you think that they will be low enough in cost of gold that the casuals who can buy these will be able to afford them your wrong. If they are, again, what's the point of subbing.
What else will become convenient ? Don't got time or skill to run SO....buy the armor in the Crown Store.

Look at it this way. With XP potions it will only take you 3 1/2 years to get 3,600 CP instead of 4 years.

Behind what? Other players? It's not a competitive game, it's a community game. There's a difference.

People need to stop judging their own situation/contentment on what everyone else is doing.
If you can be anything, be kind.

well I mean I was back and forth on quitting, then they fixed somethings and I was like cool I'll stay...but should I sub since no new content until June. Well now I won't be subscribering. I will enjoy my tiger mount though.

I'm not leaving the game over it....I just question the longevity of a game that has to go b2p and add exp boosters before the game has been launched a year.

Their whole point is that it's only a shortcut. Whether you pay for experience boosts and reach the level cap sooner, or play it slowly and reach it later, you're still going to end up at the exact same level, with the exact same strength weapons and armor - you'll just get there sooner.

What are the odds ZOS will go back on their word against pay to win items ? There's no "win" in ongoing MMO's right ? It's not like a end game screen will come up ever that says "You Won! Game Over!" .

So technically they can add anything they like ...

This is what I'm getting at. The day those exp boosters hit the Crown Store is the day the game goes down the p2w road.

exp boosters are realy not pay to win also if you boost exp to much your character will miss so many skill point from story line and quest
boosters will help a bit to get exp faster too level up your other weapon skill ect ,,
it very nice to remove grinding

I fail to see how this is P2W. Also, how is this surprise to anybody?

True, if the day ever came where they started offering giant boosts and equipment/materials in the shop, I would leave as well, but so far nothing coming into the crown store can be classified as P2W.

The people that absolutely love the game will never leave . The same people that said they wanted subscription only and would leave if that changed but never did . The people that are saying if they add pay to win items will leave but probably won't really as well . It's ok to be a fully addicted fan of the game . No one should hold that against any of you . ZOS is depending on those people to keep this game on life support until they can find a way to market it as a A+ MMO . It will take years for them to achieve this if at all at this point . But no one should ever think they have to leave or protest to show support for unwanted changes . Just be realistic about your expectations with this company .
