Easy to fix. Open up a prison quest line that you have to be in jail to partake in.

This is brilliant! I really like the idea of escaping form prison. id get caught on purpose if it was a good enough quest.

    The Shadowfen Redemption. Love it!
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

I was thinking more prison life type quests... join a gang, stab that dude, doublecross that guy and trick him into killing that other guy. Bribe the guards. Partake in prison-trade and make some coin. Craft some "bedpan ale" and try not to get on Maurice's bad side.

These idea's are great! Any of those added would be awesome!

I think it would be a great addition to the ESO world. And while I would not want to get caught on purpose, I am pretty sure my main who aims to misbehave will find herself in the long arms of the law sooner or later... ;) ...and once that happens, I would be all too happy to have a prison to roleplay my way through and out instead of just paying a fine or respawning after some guard "fears for their life" and gets sword-happy or something like that... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Though of course it should always be optional at being caught for those who don't want to see their characters bum warm a prison bench... in a "either pay your fine, or go to jail" way.

Go DIRECTLY to Jail. Do NOT pass GO, do NOT collect £200.

If they implement jails, they should also implement attempting to resist arrest, like it was in Skyrim.
First ever Emperor of Dawnbreaker (EU)

    Aldmeri Dominion:
    • Aendir Celion (Former Emperor): Bosmer - NB - Bow & DW
    • Varda Eléntari: Imperial - Templar - DW

Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all those who needs a bot to finish a game.

Resisting arrest is already in, they just called it "Flee" instead.

    I prefer death or taxes.

No prison as it would take from the game a lot of players, me included. At least that aspect of it.

If you don't pay your dept you get killed. That is what makes the most sense.

This wouldn't work for those who have maxed out armor sets. They would end up paying for repairs anyways. Everybody would just pick the cheaper option.

Yeah, when it comes to player characters that respawn anyhow... the death penalty looses its sting... ;)
In the end, it comes down to fine or repair cost. Not the choice I would want to see... not exactly something that really much feels like a consequence to be avoided through being extra careful in your misdeeds.

On the other hand, IF the death penalty wasn't just a guard stabbing you with an one-shot attack before you press the "respawn" button... I doubt the powers that be would dare to do that, but I for one could even see an "death row" quest in prison, where you just spend your last day before the inevitable walk to the gallows for your meeting with the executioner... and then respawn anyways in the prison graveyard, or after your body getting thrown into the sea (latter is a bit of a classic, I think...)

Still, I would much rather have a choice between a large fine (possibly a large bribe for the guard to let you go instead, or the judge to fix your senteance - that's how I see the justice system "fine" for capital crimes anyhow) and a prisontime questline...

I made a post about that flagging thing.

I stated that one must walk back to town and change their flag on and off in town.

When the flag is on they can not quest. End of story.

When the flag is off they can quest. End of story.

This way we limit (force) questing people who see a criminal not be able to do anything instantaneously as it would be unfair to the criminals. The quester must go into town and become an enforcer. If the criminal is stupid enough to stay in the area when the enforcer comes back, well she deserves to get caught.

Also enforcers would have NPC killing, stealing, etc that a criminal/quester and such disabled... they can still pick up flowers and collect stuff....

ESO is making it so that criminals can be on the run. Ive been seeing random woodworking stations and blacksmith fires and such in the wild and wandering merchants. So i should say they are setting up for player involved arresting.

Alright, I have an idea on how to do the prison system. We have three groups of people within the system.

Criminals: The criminals steal, loot, run from the law. When they die by the hands of an enforcer or a guard they will get teleported to the prison cell without any gear. The cell will be unlocked to let the prisoners move around the small area letting them interact with other prisoners and such but there will be a door that they can try to pick to attempt to escape or simply wait out the time they are require to remain.

Enforcers: The enforcers basically stop the crime everyway they can, nothing changes from the standard system at all.

Outside Criminals: Now! Here's the more interesting part. The friends of the criminals can take up a raid quest that will put them into a raid party with others doing the same quest. The raid will be PvEvP in that they must go to the prison [which is basically a keep] and go through the raid/dungeon within clearing out the guards and the wardens [bosses]. There will be a limited number of resurrections before they are automatically sent into prison which will remove them from the group and give them a failed quest.

The Enforcers will get a message when they have breached through the first area to enter the dungeon/raid so they can try to intercept them before they finish it. Once they get past the bosses then they will be placed inside the prison in where they do a final push to the locked gate to open it up. If they succeed then everyone in the prison is released to go grab their gear and high tail it out. Kind rough around the edges but that's the idea. Oh! In order to prevent people spam raiding there will be a cooldown on the quest before people can pick it up again. So either you succeed or fail then the quest is reset and you must wait before the quest can be taken up again probably a few hours or so. Give your thoughts on it.
