With the Content Cycle Deviating from 4-6 Wks to 5+ Months

Is it possible to see expansions every few years that add clusters of content rather then just the infusion of single zones every 5-6 months?

If the process of turning around content has become more complicated and has caused the Devs to slow the turn around to a crawl. Im curious if theyll opt for larger DLCs or will they supplement DLCs with expansions?

Some B2P/F2P games are still capable of releasing content through sizable expansions every other year. While still focusing on Cash Shop, Mechanic Improvement, Quality of Life, the random addition of quests/dungeons/areas with patches in between.

After Patch 1.6 hits, there will be no more patches. All new content will be DLC only, and you must pay ZOS money to play.

The problem is that the content cycle was *never* 4-6 weeks. I know I sound like a broken record, but this is why I'm pissed about paying a sub for the last 9 months: They promised us content every 4-6 weeks, they didn't deliver other than Craglorn (whoopdeedoo, one content zone), and instead were clearly putting all of their resources toward taking the game B2P.

Short answer is DKs likely won't be seeing a ton of changes before we go live; this class is still quite powerful (as it should be being a tank), even after some of the adjustments we've made to other classes and abilities.

Not sure if you are serious...

There will be free patches/ updates will be for balancing and adding new core game systems.

Paul Sage (reddit aua): We plan to have updates that add new systems, address balance, etc. These will come to all players of the game and not have a cost.

To be fair, Sage or Firor also said that after 1.6 they intend to let the game "breathe" and don't intend to focus much on balancing for awhile.

We weren't given new content, just bug fixes as they tried to catch up with the problems they went live with. With the new console platform announcement I can understand why they have decided to put a hiatus on new content till the make sure the consoles versions are working properly.

They don't want a "failure to launch" like they did with PC.

There is a difference for allowing things to breathe for some months versus "no more patches" as Kevinmon said.

Actually, I don't think ZOS cares about the health of the game on consoles at all. The console launch (and future DLCs) is a convenient way to get big chunks of cash from a playerbase that doesn't stick with any one game for very long.

Look at D3 for consoles. Lots of people bought it, and duping etc and run completely rampant. Blizzard doesn't care. People will pick up D3 on their xbox one from time-to-time when bored of other games, and Blizzard knows those same people will buy the expansions/DLCs just because. ZOS is doing the exact same thing here. Expect them to occasionally do things with the consoles, but ultimately no really care about the health of the game on that platform except when launching DLCs.

I seriously doubt this. They couldnt even keep up with this under a sub. And Ive seen companies that could barely provide a handful of quests every 5 or so months. Let alone a whole zone with things to do.
