Maybe get it working as well as FFXIV's but don't force down everyone's throats. The main reason FFXIV's is successful is because they force it on you like herpes and everything in that game is bloody instanced. No walking up to a door an entering. No you have to use that every single time. Don't get me wrong it works but I don't want to have to use it even when I'm standing right at the F'ing door.

That was in November. I'm not sure they actually even know HOW to fix the LFG tool at this point. I love the bolded part, that shows just how little they understand about their own game. The LFG tool is BROKEN not slow. It's not like people are complaining on the forums that it takes 2 hours to get a group que'd as DPS.ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Hey guys. We are working on some improvements for the LFG tool, but it will take some time (ie: not in today's patch). In the meantime, you can do a couple things to help speed things up. For one, the tool automatically defaults you to a damage role - if you're comfortable taking on a healer or tank role, be sure to choose those as well! Also if you're looking to run a dungeon, choose "All" if you have no preference, and it will group you with the first available.

Has the lfg tool ever worked? I think we're beating a dead horse with expecting them to fix this major/minor issue depending how you look at it considering it's been about a year now. This shoulda been fixed before release. I'm gonna kinda be pissed if it works for console without issues
Alphashado wrote: »It has nothing to do with the population. Nothing. I wish people would quit saying this because it's simply not true. There are WAY more people playing right now because of 1.6 and beyond than there were playing 3 months ago. The lower level zones are absolutely packed. Zone chat is flooded with new players asking new player questions, and active guilds are having no problem what so ever keeping their rosters full.
The LFG tool was working just fine a few months ago when the population was at it's lowest since launch before the Champion system was even announced. It stopped working when ZoS attempted to improve it by making key changes to it like requiring a full group to be ready before the group was formed, allowing people to que for every dungeon regardless of level, and the switch to dungeon scaling. It was all the tweaks to the LFG tool that busted it.
Right before the first change to the LFG tool I was able to find a group as a dps within 20 mins. Right after the first change to the LFG tool I was unable to find a group as a tank.
Working before the patch/not working after the patch. <---- this is the issue, not game population. I still manage to find dungeon groups just fine by asking in zone chat. There are PLENTY of people always looking for groups. It's not the population.
Even if it isn't broken it's not going to work if nobody is using it, and people are not using it because it's notoriously unreliable. This should have been a priority from day one because it's a lot more difficult to break people of habits once they get used to doing it a certain way.ZOS_GinaBruno wrote: »Ok guys, looks like there's something going on here, but we'd like to get some additional information to help nail this down. Instead of a drop down menu it should have been radio buttons with check marks indicating which dungeons you want and whether you prefer vet or non vet. That way if you want either undaunted zone you can check both, if you already did one you check the one you didn't do only. If you have no preference as to which dungeon then you "check all". Simple. After fixing this tool, they must to add more filters to it: Non-veteran dungeons for veteran players, then specific activities in Craglorn (not only overall zone), and probably specific quest.

Gina: Guys, any news on the LFG tool fix?
Devs: Yeah, we'll get round to it some time.
Gina: People stopped using it because it didn't work!
Devs: Really? Great, we'll remove it in the next patch. Problem fixed! Now, how do you think we can go about putting Senche mounts in the crown store without pissing off the long-time subscribers?
Flamescale wrote: »How is this still not being addressed? This alone was enough to make me stop playing before 1.6. I don't want to hit that point again.
Having to spam chat for a group is incompatible with being able to play the game properly.
That's the problem, I can't spend an hour/hours in chat spamming LFG as my time is limited, when I log in to play I want to quest, PvP, grind champ ect. spending our time doing nothing in front of a dung or starter city is not how many want to spend the little time they have playing a MMO.I haven't used the LFG tool since they implemented the pledges. I've never had very much luck with the LFG tool. Like some have suggested, use the /z chat window, and/or stand outside the dungeon for a bit, if that don't work, keep moving and leveling, you can always do them later. It is frustrating because that's a skill point you are giving up though, but I think most of the population today are all vets. Wait till the console release, and there should be tons of noobs to run them.
