Ok, thanks everyone. We're passing along all your feedback. :)

Now that the appropriate people have received our feedback, what do they say? Will there be any further attempts to fix this, or is it working as intended?
The fix we implemented in 1.5.7 did alleviate the long queue, but there are still a few outstanding bugs that we need to address:
    • There’s an issue where you are unable to find a group when the activity “World” is chosen specifically in Veteran content.
    • Group leaders are unable to search for more members for a dungeon after they kick a player out of the group multiple times. This is causing the Grouping Tools to be grayed out, and will remain that way no matter who the leader is.
    • You will still receive the message “Searching For Members” even after forming a full group for a dungeon.
Now, granted, that last issue isn’t affecting your ability to actually form a group, but we are working to fix all these issues. In the meantime, we do want to encourage you to continue using the Grouping Tools (even if it’s just running in the background) as its effectiveness is increased by the number of players that use it.

    Thank you. :)

I use it daily running in the background when looking for members during pledges, but never once actually found any member using it.

If you really think these are the only problems the LFG tool has, than It will be as useless as it is now when will be fixed.
    Because:
    a) never searched for activity "world"
    b) never been a group leader, because there was never a group to begin with
    c) the message “Searching For Members” is the only output of lfg interface. Surely not a group.

If you think it is working as intended for a level 30 looking for a group for ALL dungeons as an healer I suppose I'll never enjoy that content soon.

I decided to wait until after the weekend before I made my feedback, as I am a DPS and as such have to wait longer for groups.
That said, I still haven't been able to get a group. Especially after this weekend when I managed to accumulate at lest 12 hours of playing and testing and still not even one group pop up. I've been trying to find my daily normal pledge through LFG tool and no luck. It just keeps spinning and spinning.
I did have a "moment" when I thought "Here we go!", when suddenly one player appeared on my screen as part of my group, but then vanished the next second. And so has my "moment".

It's very nice to see you guys working and trying, but the results are just not there. And according to population in game, there are very few who notices any improvement after the latest "fix".

Can we expect further attempts at trying to fix this in this week's patch?

    Edit; Another week

This is just embarassing and wrong.

I mean... its clear what they are doing. They are playing us.
I suspect, they are doing nothing at all. Why should they? In some weeks they implement a new patch and perhaps there will be a light fix of the LFG Tool. Or perhaps the complaints will focus on other matters. Why invest time in problem X anyway.
It`s douptful, they react to our feedback accordingly and at least implement some more options and indicators. It`s like, they dont aim to improove functionality, they just want to maintain it... A very bad move... Especially in this phase of the game.
At least you could have been a bit specific about your plans. (And i don`t mean some miracle telling of your big boss in "road aheads" and thus...).

What realy makes me furious is the lying and playing for time tactic. The LFG issue is not the only one. PVP Lags, Werewolf, Crafting... i could go on and go on.
Its like you order a pizza and they bring it to you 24 hours later. Its cold and not even the pizza you wanted. But guess what... you have to pay the full price for it (and eat it without (legal) complaints, while the pizza boy is laughing).
I feel pissed upon and it seems you sell it as rain.
I could pull up some more colorful metaphers, but i hope you get the picture.

I dont mind waiting, but at least be straight with me. Say it from the beginning (Oct/Nov) Have the balls to say, that you wait until the end of January, since you do fancy stuff like new interface design for console players. Its not hard to guess, why you dont want to alter the pc game design now, but non the less, another slapp in my face. A big slap concidering what you are pulling your pc-customers trough...

    Its realy a shame.

    And if you aim on having console players as your main-customers;
You dont just loose customers, you also loose trust as a company.

1 Year ago i already knew, that you will not be able to hold all your promises. (Update frequency, etc). And i scaled down my expectations.
But this... this is hard to eat up.

This probably boils down to a bad management decision. They say "No, we can't afford to spend resources on rewriting the LFG tool. Fix it, there must be something to salvage in there." After several months, they realize they could have rewritten the tool in the time it has taken them to fail at fixing the old version, but then the time is already wasted.

An important part of agile development is to recognize bad things, throw them out and rewrite them. ZOS seems too focused on keeping code even if it's rubbish.

My guildies biggest gripe is still not having the option as a vr, to search for dungeons lower then our level. Our lower vr guys get screwed when trying to find one or two more guys late at night to do non vet dungeons. Those r the times we leave cyrodill and try to lfg for those lower dungeons to knock them out. But they r not in the list because of our level. That has always been frustrating, and counter productive.

We've felt since day one all dungeons below your toons level should be an option to lfg for. We all like going back at some point and helping guild mates. Or to simply complete them all when you didnt at those lower levels. To quote an early eso phrase, "options are good".

@ZOS_GinaBruno, this is simply not true. There are far more problems than this. If the tool works, it barely works at all. I resubbed in early December after the fixes should have been in. Since that time, I have spent untold hours "searching" and have never been put into a group. This is for the low level dungeons of the first and second zones. I am marked as both DPS and healer. I have been searching for all dungeons.

I have also formed parties of 3 people manually, and then used the tool to search for a single DPS to finish the party. Once again, nothing.

To be blunt, I don't think anyone cares about these issues right now...

Instead of having the servers establishing groups on its own (they're not up to the task right now), how about having the servers throw us group invites instead? That way it doesn't have to bother checking availability and overlapping people in the queue.

This should be the biggest clue that something is seriously wrong. When a group can't find DPS, you know there is no one searching for it, as there is always an abundance of them.

I'd rather not be clicking "group invites from the server" closed every 5 seconds while soloing. And with ZOS track record of "fixing" grouping issues, regardless of the intended function of your suggestion, what I described is what the ZOS code monkeys will deliver.

Why ZOS hasn't just downloaded SWtOR and scavenged code that already works amazes me.

Because of copyright. If you want to use someone else's code you need to pay for it. And I don't think EA will give a part of their game for free.

DDO's group finder is so much better than these automated systems. There is a long list of available parties, the person who creates the listing comments on the dungeon to be run and desired party makeup, and can either accept/reject applicants. There are search functions to limit the group listings by level or specific dungeon.

What I find most disturbing is that way back when it was "broken" it worked WAY better than it's working now that it's "fixed". I used to find groups for low lvl dungeons as a tank an healer almost instantly and after maybe 20 mins as a dps. Now I can't even get a group qued as a tank.

And there are plenty of people trying to use it.

Mark myself as a V14 tank looking for todays current vet pledge, every time instance group pop.

Mark myself as healer, can take 1hr
Mark myself as dps, group never pops.

Wondering it its just that 90% of people are marked as dps.

Also noticed I could join the que even tho I was not marked as dps, tank or healer........ I think that is a bug. You should not be able to join the que if you don't have a role picked. They need to change it so you can't have all roles 'deselected' at once.

This. I said it before and I will say it again, nobody needs your LFG tool that makes parties automatically, we just need a window we can advertise our groups in/advertise we are LF X activity...

Let us make our own groups because your coding certainly can't ZOS...

This could be the answer, but imagine how long it would take them to implement this. 1.8 or 1.9, probably.
I think it's clear they've done very little to fix this and we'll probably have to wait for 1.6.

I just logged off after an hour of nothing from group finder. I'm flagged as healer for all vet dungeons and nothing pops. Finding players at night Oz time is becoming increasingly difficult.
