Times are changing for ESO, as we all can see. While I am still up in the air regarding how I feel about these changes, I do believe I am willing to give things a chance before I make any judgement, good or bad, on what has happened and the future of ESO going forward.
I do have a concern however, that I feel needs to be addressed.
I like Cyrodiil PvP. I am very much so looking forward to the Justice System as well and what will be as close to 'open world PvP' as ESO can get, once the system is in full effect. My time in Cyrodiil will not diminish however as I am also looking forward to the Imperial City as well.
My concern comes in regarding recent changes that were made to the population cap and the attempt to stem the lag issues within Cyrodiil. The reduction in the population cap, while it has reduced the lag and made game-play a bit smoother and manageable, has had the unfortunate effect of saddling the player-base with a queue, especially on NA Thornblade during prime-time. At times an inconvenient queue that can last upwards of 2 hours. This darkens the luster of Cyrodiil, especially if you only have a limited time to play and that time is taken up with a queue.
What is going to happen when Tamriel Unlimited goes live in March, and what one can assume will be thousands of new players purchasing ESO? I assume that Cyrodiil PvP will be accessible by anyone that has purchased the game, whether or not they purchase an ESO Plus Membership.
It can be assumed that many of the new players to ESO will be PvPers and with that we may very well see a significant jump up in queue times for Cryodiil. Perhaps a significant enough jump up to alienate a good portion of the already existing player-base. Prime-time PvP may even see large portions of the player-base never setting foot in Cyrodiil again simply because of the increased queue times.
So my question is this:
With the implementation of Tamriel Unlimited and the possibility of an influx of thousands of new players to ESO, what is being done to ensure that ALL players will still be able to enjoy PvP within Cyrodiil and not have to wait on ever-increasing queue times?
