B2P and it's effect on PvP Power?

I'd like to ask you about how this decision will affect the gear power in PvP? My guess is that the content that will be placed behind a paywall will be the most powerful in the game. How will this affect your non-plus customers? I don't mind paying each month for my subscription and I never have had a problem with it. To be honest, I don't know where you got the impression that we had a problem with the sub but that isn't the discussion here.

Will the trials/raid/DLC gear be more powerful than what is in the "Classic" game? I think that stating "No subscription required" is a bad statement to be throwing around since chances are it will be required to stay competitive in the PvP realm.

March 20th: "Good news! We are reintroducing deer into Cyrodiil"

March 27th: "Great news! We are removing the ability to attack player characters in Cyrodiil. We felt that this move was beneficial to players by increasing their feeling of immersion."

Sometime in June: "OMG Guys, we are reintroducing the ability to attack player characters and will be apart of the ESO Plus package!"

I would speculate that ZOS is intentionally trying to make PvP unplayable so that all of the PvPers just leave the game and ZOS can save themselves the embarrassment of having to remove it while people are still having fun. Can you imagine how frustrating they would find it that people STILL want to play their completely broken version of Cyrodiil? But that would be ridiculous, right?

I think PvP will be fine with the transition to B2P. If anything, it may actually renew the campaign populations. Let's hope anyway.

It doesn't sound like they're allowing p2w purchases of gear in the soon-to-be cash shop, which is a plus, and the potions you'll be able to buy will be less powerful than the craft-able ones.

Of course, ZOS could very well go p2w in the future... and I kind of expect that to happen if going b2p doesn't resolve their population issues.

What I do like about the idea of b2p is the fact that I'll be able to let my sub run out during content update "dry periods" as there won't be anything worth paying for... then renewing my "premium membership" (god damn, the corporate pr lingo makes me sick to my stomach) when new dlc, that I actually want to play, comes out.

I wouldn't be surprised if it just all together becomes a PvE zone with "justice" aspects left in. Imperial City is just a PvE zone within a PvP zone. The pop locks would be flooded with PvErs trying to make their way into it and keep out the people who actually like to PvP.

They already stated before the population within the city directly affects cyrodiil as a whole.

Thank you for participating in the actual discussion. I agree on a lot of points that you made regarding the dry periods. This current time would be one of those dry periods. I'm still enjoying the game though nonetheless.

If people are looking for an upside of the announced changes to the subscription model as it concerns AvA, the Campaigns will be filled for a time with daily new player AP buffets.

Hey, I was *happy* to talk about things like Argonian musical traditions today until the big bomb went off on the forums.
