While I agree that ZOS was wrong to promise a direct XP->CP conversion (up to a cap), that is a PR mistake. We are owed nothing.

I also agree that ZOS shouldn't be breaking promises. I just don't think we have any right to dictate what they should do. Like I said, if this system isn't enough to keep me playing, I'll vote with my wallet. I've been here since beta, having been gone for about two months at one point.

Will the majority of players leave? Or will it lead to a more balanced situation, e.g. in Cyrodiil, such that many players keep playing? Will the justice system and the possibilities of the champion system offer such a big incentive to keep playing that even those players that are mad about lost progression still keep playing? Or is there even some other option between granting CPs and taking away progression that we can't imagine now but that compensates for the loss of progression?
You really don't get it. Lets do a short timeline example:
1. Update 1.6 goes live, some players have 0 CPs, others 30 CPs. Also VR levels.
2. A few weeks goes by. CPs are now no longer even. Some people have many, some still have 0. New players still purchase the game and start level 1 characters.
3. Update 1.7 goes live. VR levels are removed. CPs are no where near level, and vary greatly. There are still new players buying the game making level 1 characters with 0 CPs.
4. 3 months go by. Players with lots and lots of CPs are far more powerful than players with none.
So, where is this "leveling" of the playing field? The only thing ZOS would accomplish by NOT reimbursing players for VR levels when 1.7 goes live is damaging the game, and losing revenue. There is no upside.

Again, this is wrong. You can feel however you want about this game, and you can decide that ZOS owes YOU nothing.
But you have no right to speak for me or others by using the word "us". They do owe ME something, and I feel that they owe "US" something. If you feel like they don't owe "YOU" anything, that's fine, its your account. Just don't speak for the rest of "us".

TLDR; They dont "have" to do anything... ;o)
B. Limited Remedy. YOU AGREE THAT YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY FOR ANY DISPUTE WITH ZENIMAX OR ITS LICENSORS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OF SERVICE OR ANY SERVICE IS TO STOP USING OR ACCESSING THE SERVICE AND CANCEL YOUR ACCOUNT.

I fully support your right to be delusional, but they legally owe you nothing.

We all know that a considerable amount of the core player base we leave ESO if they do not reward their VR14 toons after 1.7.
The largest issue here is that trust in ZOS is lost. If they deliberately remove progression once, what will prevent them from doing it again in the future?
Progression is one of the main factors of MMOs. That's why this is such a big problem for so many people.
@Robocles
......which you also agreed to, are bound by, and can't do a damn thing about except unsub.
TBH, I'm not fully up to date with the CP topic.
From what I understand they stated that accounts with at least one VR1 character will be rewarded with 30CPs in 1.6.
Did ZOS ever state that VRs above VR1 will not be rewarded in 1.7?
If this is not the case, don't you think that ZoS is using PTS and 1.6 as a testing phase for the CS and do not know the details of 1.7 themselves?
Perhaps the toons will be compensated but ZoS does not know how yet.
Maybe all this complaining is a waste of time because they won't answer your thread to prevent another fiasco (like keeping track of XP).
Of course if they already stated that this will not be the case in 1.7, ignore my comment.

You claim they "must" credit is with more points simply because we have been playing longer than other players.
The Terms of Service state they are under absolutely no obligation to do so.
Can agree with the logic included in your wishful thinking, but it is still wishful thinking.
Translation: I still can't refute the logic in the OP.
Not attempting to refute the logic in the OP, personally agree that rewarding progression where it is due makes logical sense.
They why did you bother to post?
Because everything is already set in stone, and there is no hint of them ever reverting it.
Also your topic will most likely get closed, due to "other topics already made on this subject".
