I thought I read somewhere that the 30 CP thing is just for the start in 1.6 while the CP and VR system are both live and that once the VR system fully goes away, the other CP points that have been earned and tracked will be awarded...
Is this not right?

It is not right. A lot of people were assuming that would be the case, and posted so in many threads. But it was found out later to be incorrect.
It allows everyone to start at an even ground and helps them monitor and make changes to how points are accrued if necessary.
Why should I start at an even ground with vr1's? Why should I be less powerful compared to others now? How is that good?
I don't ask to bring me to CP cap, no. But I need to have MORE CP than those who got less XP.. And the difference should be proportional to the difference in XP, including XP that I got when I was vr14 and when they announced the system. That's only fair and acceptable.
I've been playing since beta, I did all the silver and gold content and I still can't find a legit reason to be upset about this. (Maybe it is just Christmas and I can't be bothered to be upset with such trivial things) Seriously, if you play 24/7, good on you, you will have your advantage over every other "mortals" soon enough, just try to survive until then, I know it can be hard, but try your best.
If they would have said XP would not be tracked what would had been different? Wouldn't you log in? I doubt that would be the case for most people. You wouldn't have grinded that much? Well, possible, I don't really like grinding so I can't really say anything about that.
The amount of rage is something I can only compare to the Wolfhound pet being introduced to new Steam costumers.

So what is correct? Can you point me to the announcement? Sorry I've been taking a break and just back recently... I'm a bit behind on the info.

But we want to make sure that players who have already completed most of the content , are not disadvantaged in earnings of other points champion.

It's statements from ZOS CM in the German forums. Translated below:ZOS_KaiSchober wrote: »

Ah OK, thanks.
Seems like there is still plenty of time for them to figure out a way to award extra points to those who have leveled one or more characters well beyond VR1 vs. the people who just barely get one to VR1 when 1.6 goes live.
I mean, they have to recognize previous achievements, right? Otherwise it'd be like a disproportionate roll back that penalizes the most active players from the past 9 months the most.
Surely, that would never fly.

I will tell you what. Everyone wouldn't have burned through the silver/gold content that CAN'T BE REPEATED AND IS NOW LOST FOREVER. They would have played a low level alt or canceled their subs until CS went live to preserve the XP potential that the silver/gold represented. The grinding argument is a red herring because anyone who grinds could care less. They will grind regardless so nothing changes.

I really, really couldn't care less about this CP thingie. Some people just didn't get the one thing about ESO that really matters: It is a g-a-m-e. Yes! One of these things that should be fun. If it is no fun, don't play. It's that simple. Really. Nothing that happens ingame is in any way serious, or has impact on your life or something. If it does you should really think about getting yourself a therapy or something else which impacts your real life. If games can do that for you there is something wrong.
Of course I would be happy if they tracked at least our quests that we had done and reward us accordingly, I still couldn't care less if grinders got a lot more CP or less but I still am not going to get angry over such things and still looking forward to the CS.I've been playing since beta, I did all the silver and gold content and I still can't find a legit reason to be upset about this. Of course I don't expect it. I go and get it. And people who didn't reach an appropriate level - don't. And that's how it should be. This new system puts us all on an even ground, even though that's unfair.
When a trial is pushed to live server do you expect to have all the trial gear deposited into your bank?
Of course not because you haven't earned it yet. The same goes for this system. This system is created to increase the character building process via point progression. You asking for a head start on the system for accomplishments done months ago is... Well, you decide what it is.
.
Nothing happens to those players. NO players at all got extra xp before the system was in place. So they don't lose anything. That day, when the system was released is basically the reference point. Nobody got any xp before that day. And if somebody didn't log after - I see absolutely no problem. They should get rewarded for the level they already achieved, though.Tell me this... What happens to players that stopped playing back when the level cap was VR10 or even when it was VR12 and still progressed their unrecorded xp beyond the cap? They might have more xp/vp "earned" than your current vr14 character but it's just not recorded because the system wasn't in place yet. How would you go about rewarding that scenario?
You might not like it but this system is the best option.
What happens to those folks? How are they different from hundreds of others? Nothing special happens. I did all the quests before the system was announced. It doesn't stop me from noticing that what ZOS doing is simply unfair.
Yes, but what happens to the folks that are V10 or V12 from when those were the caps and XP/VP gain wasn't recorded when the threshold was hit? Do those players not gain anything or do you give them the same CP as someone their VR yet they could possibly have more XP/VP than any current VR14 right now.
Sure, it's not ideal to have everyone start at the same spot. This system should have been implemented before launch. Since it wasn't the solution they provided is the best option.
It's a game and people need to look at it as a new system. I'm even seeing people ask for refunds on their crafting mats from their gear. The demands are just getting ridiculous. Play the game and enjoy the progression. You aren't entitled to anything here.

Also, let's be honest, it's very easy to calculate how many CP would the quests give and at least compensate that. I'm not even talking about mobs killed. Just the quests. It's all in the database. But no, they don't want to do you because *** you that's why.
It's pretty frustrating that they just remove all the relative power I and many others had.
You just want the progress of others taken away so you can feel better about yourself and so everyone gets a blue ribbon regardless. News flash..that ribbon won't help you. You will still be terrible and way behind after the system goes live.

When I read this it came across that you are really mad. I'm sorry that a video game and the new systems it introduces causes you such distress and hostility. I'm sorry that you feel the need to be presumptuous think that I'm "terrible" because of a video game.
I just want to let you know that not all of us that are in support of the current plan have characters that are just VR1. I myself have numerous VR14 ...

Personal suggestion.
Award an ammount of CP depending on VR level from VR1 to VR14. VR1 gets 2CP, VR14 gets 30CP.
Besides the VR level, people who already completed Caldwells Almanac are screwed in terms of potential CP gain from solo content after the patch goes live.
Solution: Award CP for every Caldwels completed almanac hub, zone and upon total completion:
- 1CP for every hub completed listed in Caldwels.
- 1CP for every zone listed in Caldwels (zones being the sum of various hubs)
- 10CP for the total completion of both silver/gold.
If there are a total of 10 zones with an average of 5 hubs each listed in Caldwells Almanac, that would neat:
- 10*5=50CP for all hubs completed.
- 10*1=10CP for all zones completed (just right after completing the last hub, extra CP for completing zone rewarded).
- 10CP for Silver/Gold completion.
50+10+10 = 70CP for people with the Caldwells Almanac already completed when the patch goes live.
A player VR14 with Caldwells Almanac completed would get 30+70=100CP.
A player VR14 who got there grinding would get 30CP, but would still have the chance to get the extra 70CP by later doing almanac quests.
A player in the middle of their Caldwells way, VR6, would get 15CP + 35CP (silver complete) = 50CP.
A player recently hitting VR1 would get 2CP.
I dont think that anything in my suggestion would be hard to code by ZOS, as all that information necessary is already held by the server, unlike the XP gained past VR14 through grinding (I really never believed them when they said they were "tracking" it) and other means.
100CP/3500CP total makes for 2.85% Champions system progress. Hardly anything to worry about.
Supposing someone has 8 chars maxed with Caldwells completed in everyone of them (I doubt there are that many people who made this), that would make 22.8%, not that high either, but they could put a limit of CP reward for only the 3 or 4 highest chars in the account.
Anything but what they are planning to do.
This is also an issue, PvP , raids and dungeons should reward more XP/ CP.gw2only1b14_ESO wrote: »
Wrong. There are not "tons and tons". They also don't award much XP. A pittance compared to the story quests through silver/gold. Stop equating them because they are not equal at all.

More than questing / grinding as you are not 100% effective, in PvP you spend plenty of time moving or waiting for group to get ready, more waiting but less moving in PvE.
