Continue to play! We are tracking your XP as you advance your way through Veteran Ranks and even past VR14. When the Champion System comes out we will reward you points right away based on the amount of XP you have earned up to a cap. In general, most people won’t reach the cap and we do not know what that cap is yet. We're still working out that value and making sure to take a look at the XP you all are earning.
I won't be vet14 ever. I bet they will get rid of vet before I reach it lol. Although I really feel people who have been playing up to and past vet14 should be rewarded for that. It makes no sense that I, with a vr5 and a vr1 will get just as many points as someone who has continued playing their vr14

How about a person with 4 level VR1s a VR5 vs one person with a VR14? I mean how can you say one persons time in game is equal to another? What about the crafters who are VR1 and have 1000s more hours then a VR14 who just grinded or exploited and have 20hours total on them?
If it was about how much play time they should just use /played to decide... VR14 is not amazing accomplishment for some, I would value a Char with all traits researched and all crafting skills but only VR1 more valuable then a VR14 with no crafting... what about the people who PVPed and are emperor and have way less experience then a VR14 PVE player...
Fact is they said 30cp for everyone over VR1 and that is a fair number considering we have no idea how game breaking 1000s of CP will be.

If they do this then at least have the decency to procide us with content so we can also generate points.

At its heart the Champion system is solid and interesting IMO, allowing a nod to long term loyal players would do them more good than harm and to the best of my reading here & elsewhere players are not asking for all their 900 CP in one hit but just for a few extra to acknowledge the large number of extra time (and maybe subs) they have invested in this game compared to those that haven't.
It is not an unreasonable request and one that ZOS initially planned to implement.
This is exactly how I took her statement. The general nature of the statement 'If you have a veteran character you get 30 cp' indicates that it is only a base. If that is true then people with higher level characters will get more, albeit not a game breaking amount (which I think some people want). I also believe the reason she didn't specify different amounts for different veteran levels is simply, they don't know yet.Zorgon_The_Revenged wrote: »I didn't realize this was the case. I thought they said every account with a vr character will get a base 30 cp's, so an account with only 1 vr1 character will get the 30 cp to play with and not feel left behind.

I support their decision and its a much needed one, especially if we consider that most Rank 14 were exploiting the system at one point or another in the past.
I have ONE VR14, and did it by questing. I was going to start an alt, until I saw their comment that VR14 would still accumulate points, so I did grinding and Cyrodiil quests to build those up. If I wasted that time, I won't be happy. Have already started an alt Character and have it at level 15, should be vet by the time Champion drops.
ZoS really should comment on this....
VR7, so no poll option for me.
I'm okay with the cap, but not okay with it being set to VR1. People should get points for each rank above 1, capping at 14. I can accept ZOS not taking into account exp above 14, even though it makes their previous statements blatant lies.
Btw, I wasn't following the forums, so do we have a confirmation about this cap or are we still going by ESO Live information?

You might not agree with their perspective, but if you can't figure out why you aren't even trying to see beyond your own preference.
I mean really, you can't comprehend why someone who has logged a 1000 hours since launch and has multiple v14s is upset at getting the same level of leveling "dings" as someone who bought the game a few weeks ago and just reach level 1?
I don't think v14s should start with 100s of champion points either. But to go back on the whole "we're keeping track of your XP, keep playing!" statement from Zenimax and to effectively erase the time invested in that character is something I'd expect from a used car salesmen.
