Unfortunately there aren't that many alternatives. DaoC is pretty much dead and so is my old GW2 PvP server ( EU Elona Reach ). Warhammer is literally dead. The other high population MMOs, WoW and FF14 ARR that is, do not offer this kind of PvP.

I guess there is still Eve, which is the gold standard if you want guild based PvP. To me it's too much like a second job though.

So your solution to them not being fast enough is to quit the game so they run out of money and you never get the change ya want cause the game is gone.

Please dont blow smoke up my ass about "fast enough". I can tolerate those types of condescending remarks on F2P games. Not subscription based ones. Not when we see every zone BUT Cyrodiil getting updates.

They lost my money, they lost their chances. I gave them 2 years of my life playing this game, how much more tolerant should I be around indifference and poor prioritization, when I am the paying customer?

If you are truly still interested in DAoC I can tell you it most certainly is not dead. That old beast just keeps chugging along. They just released a huge update that increased the champion level to 15, new champ weapons, new champ skills. Other stuff that I can't remember right now. Broadsword took over the game and it sounds like they are really trying to make great changes.

If you can get past the graphics and the sometimes clunky UI it's still a great game. I'm heading back myself if things don’t get sorted here on the PvP front soon.

But having said that, I'm still crossing my fingers for this game. I really love it. Come on, Zenimax, I know you want my $15 a month for a long time, right? :)

They need to implement a few changes at once:

First the server should stop counting victory points from midnight pacific time until 3 pm Eastern. That way night capping cannot help winning the campaign.

    Second impulse should be blockable.

Third they should implement the anti zergball bomb they talked about 2 months ago so if people clustered close together they would instantly die if enough did it.

So you really want an American only server then. Just because the server is physically in the states does not mean others in other countries are not based o it. There are plenty of other people from many timezones that play on it. Your night time is my afternoon.

The last night in Cyro was a painful show of fainted but previously great PVP. Some people were asking in zone whether AD has even any groups out in Cyro (Thorn, NA). The people in zone didn´t communicate like they did. I have seen the loss of many familiar names. Leaving me wonder if they all quit. In any ways, the numbers were really low. Thorn felt like a buff server. The emperor keeps were taken by EP leaving DC and AD with home keeps. For some reason EP seem to have much higher population than AD and DC.

The whole situation was absurd with its anti climax fights. AD did its best to take something but was prevented from taking anything by EP. The fights were over in 10 secs leaving no question whether there was any good action. The large mass of players seem content with their AP or turning the map red.

Still enjoy PVP but the number of players around is worrying me.

If it was possible NA and EU servers should merge. The last thing to die is hope.

Rift could be an alternative. You PvP in battlegrounds there but cyrodiil was never open world pvp anyway. More some Kind of big battleground which never really worked or performed.
Rift does not have These Problems and has a very very good character System. With their souls you can Switch mostly in any role with every class. Roles are the three classical roles you almost alway Encounter in MMO - tank, DD and healer.

I am not sure what to do at the Moment but ESO just frustrates me :(

Anyone who claims that ESO isn't dying hasn't been playing long enough. Sure, the early zones are revolving doors of players buying the game, realizing that its boring, broken, and not at all fun, and then quitting, but if you go to any of the VR1-10 zones, they're ghost towns. Not a single soul, much less enough players to overflow into a second instance like the good old days.

While this thread is about cyrodiil not the game in general, the emptiness of the Cadwell silver and gold zones is more about players just grinding out levels in Craglorn rather than questing (again). Standard leveling has been that way for a while now in this game, hit VR1, go to Craglorn, find a boss or delve to exploit and grind experience with a few close friends for an hour a VR rank.

FCs were bad. FCs remain bad. I think many of the people who were originally resistant to the change are now accepting and embracing it. It was good for call of duty play style, zerg, kill, die and repeat to fast farm AP but the lower AP generation of this new system could be augmented by narrower incremental changes between ranks.

I will say that I earn much less AP then before the camps went away, but I have more of it than ever now that I'm not going through a dozen camps a night.

I think it says something that some have quit the game but not the forum. It's sort of like when you break up with someone but keep going back for some guilt-ridden physical encounters. I guess sometimes it's hard to break up when there's love involved.

I disagree with your first point as I think many people that were against removing FCs are not in Cyrodiil anymore, hence lower population. Yes, lag and other issues are factors but believe me so was FC removal.

I do agree it was good for cod play style and there is a reason the cod genre is the Wow equivalent of fps games. It's a play style that appeals to many people; a play style that Cyrodiil no longer supports.

Casual players only have a few hours to play a day so of course they want immediate and constant action. I understand that organized groups don't like being overrun by pugs and casuals, but then again it doesn't seem like most organized groups are having much fun fighting in Cyrodiil without them.

I hope they do bring back FCs in some form, or create some battlegrounds, because the game would hold my interest much longer.

I do not play that much anymore on Thorn , mainly because of FC removal, so that makes me one. I am sure there are few others.

FC eliminate all risk/reward. It turns Cyrodiil into a keep based CoD.

That being said there are times when FCs should be an option. It should never be like it was before though, a given taken for granted.

That's personal opinion Bull, I liked Cyro the way it was and if FC removal would've brought more people or at least population wasn't decreasing, I would've been first to admit that I was wrong , because I am not selfish person, I would like to see more people enjoying this game, despite what my preferences are.

Lol. No interest in heading back to more champion levels and a broken archery system. I adored the game until the combined death blows of trials of abortions, archery redesign and new frontiers. No thanks.

I would be curious to hear what you consider as a reward for playing in Cyrodiil. It's not feasible to level a character through pvp, there isnt any pvp gear that's really worth grinding for, the AP you gain gets you nothing except possibly your name on a leaderboard, so what exactly is the reward?

You can say killing people is the reward, but frankly that's not enough to keep people logging in. To continue the CoD comparisons, think about all the weapon lines/perks/achievements you can unlock through battle to make your character more powerful and more diverse, not to mention personalized name tags ect. Incentives like those are necessary for long term sustainability imho.

Cyrodiil right now is mostly risk and hardly any reward.

I think it's important to note that this is a very busy week for a lot of students across the country, this could speak for some population decline.

Personally I want to start playing a smaller campaign even if that means I fight less, PVP isn't about AP for me. It's easy for me to give ZOS the time they need to fix Cyrodiil because I am a fan of the PVE. The company is clearly focused on making this game more Elder Scrolls like before they spend more resources on Cyrodiil.

I think the community could try to organize a way to even the population balance by choosing the designate a smaller campaign. Showing the mass of players in Cyrodiil two bar populations in Chillrend or Haderus could bring players who aren't part of guilds into these campaigns. I know when I'm looking to solo I'm going to a bigger campaign, so let's create another big campaign to spread the load of the server.

With queue times raising it only makes sense that we try to designate a new campaign for us to play in, why sit around and wait when we can be refining our skills in smaller scale combat? Many of the players asking for arenas should love the opportunity to have 5v5 as opposed to the 40v40 we see in Thornblade.

Patch 1.5 was pretty much the death sentence for pvp imo. Before it was fun and the servers were poplocked with queues of up to 150. Ever after the highest i've seen was about 9.

The removal of camps destroyed my experiencenin cyro. Its a pure zerg game now. Alessia <--> BRK all day long 50v50. I used to play this game really much (6+ hours at least per day) and it was huge fun.
Now I struggle to find joy at all. You do something and 50 *** come and lag the server out.

They could boost numbers by making lower lvl guys get more xp by sitting on the walls defending, while higher guys are out flanking a siege.

But with the number nerf, there are hardly enough to defend three keeps, little lone defend and attack at the same time.

ZOS, just made this a world War one trench warfare simulator. Hold what you have, wait for the other guy to attack, mow him down, attack while they move troops back to the front to, get pushed back, repeat until the Americans show up.

removal of camps was actually a good thing, we never needed camps in DAOC or Warhammer, not having camps brings more of a risk to the Tactics used as well as makes rezing people actually important .

Before all the game boiled down to was whoever had the most Forward camps was the winner , I`m sorry but zerg rezing a keep is`nt really skill or good tactics, it`s just zerging . now people need to play smarter .
